  1. Thank you for taking the time to both run and review my arc. I have to say, I am honestly not sure of why you found the group so hard. All minions are set to standard/standard, with all of them having a low damaging attack set (either dark energy which are low damage or lethal, both of which again are low damage and easily resisted) ,a defensive secondary (that when scaled to minion is not noticeable, with the exception or /sr and /ninjutsu, the /sr I can change quite easily, but the /ninjutsu is so for the theme). There are two lieutenants, one of which is hard/standard the Executioner. The Banshee is Standard/Hard. Sadly, the last change they made to the power sets critters get made the Banshee harder than she should be. as illusion used to be spectral wounds, the horror, and flash on standard, now instead of getting fear (which is their whole schtick) they get deceive.

I actually made changes to the character you meet so that it is more obvious on what happens, but based on the latest reviews I've gotten after said changes, I'm thinking of making it more ambiguous. It used to be that the people who played my arc told me mission 5's end boss "came out of nowhere". It's certainly not the first star I've gotten, nor will it be the last. And best of all, better than 5 star farmers, you told me on ways to improve the arc, and again, you have my gratitude. It's interesting that I get more 1 and 4 or 5 stars (not counting the farmers) than any other arc I've created, this one seems to polarize the people who play it.

Letting everyone have at least one, much less two characters of their own opens the door to a lot of problems. Its really a half-measure at best.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed, the best the game could do to self sustain itself is to remove the player's ability to control said character, and then they become spectators. This way, they would no longer have the "devs hate this single character" complaint as it is no longer theirs to command.

  3. I didn't even know I was in a cartel, but that's how awesome I am.
  4. I'm afraid I don't understand the Candle Jack refe
  5. I've always said (since the announcement of GR) that my only character that would turn would be my Warshade. But upon further thought, I may have a level 18 Thugs/Dark Mastermind that could possibly become a hero. As it is, he refuses to kill or cause undo hardships unto civilians. Right now he is definitively at the Work for Money schtick, but perhaps meeting the right group or people could make him turn.
  6. [ QUOTE ]

I bet you solo Lusca in two minutes flat, too.

The ten minutes was a figure of speech; I've never actually held a stopwatch up to the screen when fighting an AV of any kind.

*cue dissolution of argument into "I can solo Romulus and all three nictus in 2 minutes, LOL!"

"Nuh-uh! I'm purpled out and I can solo him in 30 seconds!"

    ...ad nauseum.*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow, how'd you know?! I can also solo the entire LRSF too! Without Stamina and in SOs only too!
  7. [ QUOTE ]

My definition of "highly functional" is "able to stand there for ten minutes straight pounding on an AV such as Romulus + his Nictus pals, or the entire Freedumb Phalanx at once, without huffing, puffing, begging for blues, having all my toggles dropped, or any of the other bad things that occur when END bottoms out."

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ahh, I see where our differences lie, you like to take 10 minutes to fight Romulus while I and the teams I run with don't, we like to end the fight in less time. Aside from that, my Crab Spider who has Stamina, still requires outside end help (whether it be a /kin or /rad or sucking on blues) when on the last LRSF mission. So I see we won't agree, because while you consider 'highly functional' consists of not needing inspirations (cause like OMG, they're so rare you shouldn't need to use it!) for the toughest encounter in the game (the LRSF) or probably 2% of the entire game, while I consider highly functional only needing to rest once or twice in a mission (and that's solo, in a team setting? Neither of the masterminds actually stop or slow down) or 98% of the game.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
Currently on a team of 5 with a lousy healer because there are like 2 healers around my level lft right now...And i sent a tell to every single 1. Go ahead, make a lvl 22 team right now, Red Side.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is a problem I find that is very much prevalent blueside and almost non-existent redside. You don't "need" a healer, or any archetype for that matter. Let me give an example: I ran a Moonfire TF with my Warshade a few days ago with: 3 scrappers, a blaster, and 3 Defenders. The defenders were Trick Arrow, Sonic Resonance, and Cold Domination. That means we had absolutely no heal and no Tanker. We still completed the TF in a reasonable amount of time (between an hour and a half and two hours, not entirely sure) with only four deaths throughout the whole TF.
  9. [ QUOTE ]

Ok, let's take this ball and run with it. What build is "highly functional" without Stamina? On what AT? And don't say regen; tell us something new. After all, the canon argument is that no one needs Stamina; one of the real thigh-slappers I remember was that people who picked up Fitness are "greedy."

And even if you can think up a build, how does that address all the others that cannot move three steps in any direction without it? Rhetorical question only, there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just like you tend to ignore certain parts or entire posts, I will choose to ignore the rhetorical question part.

I will choose 3 of my characters which I've managed to get to post-35 and 1 of which is on its way.

    Level 34 Science Dominator
    Primary Power Set: Ice Control
    Secondary Power Set: Psionic Assault
    Power Pool: Flight
    Power Pool: Medicine
    Power Pool: Speed

Unbelievable, but yes, I got this character up there. Mind you, pre level 25 IOs, this character never got played unless I got a team. That means that between levels 10-22, this character never soloed. No stamina either, between Drain Psyche and Domination, there was no need for it. I never rest in missions. The rest of the builds I'll post will indeed have their fully slotted powers, this one didn't, all I need are two powers to go without stamina.

    Secondary Power Set: Trick Arrow

    Power Pool: Flight
    Power Pool: Speed

Slotting with the fact that I didn't want Stamina on this build, I placed end red in almost every secondary power. This one is tough to play without Stamina, I will not deny that, but it is far from impossible. Having to rest once, maybe twice in a mission? That's perfectly acceptable to me. Interestingly enough, if I play smart and hold the Longbow Flamethrowers, or whatever other enemy that has AoE negates my need to rest.

    Level 37 Magic Mastermind
    Primary Power Set: Ninjas
    Secondary Power Set: Traps
    Power Pool: Leadership
    Power Pool: Speed

This build forgoes a genin or two, but that's ok with me. If my ninjas stay within my force field generator, they will not suffer all that many casualties. I will admit, I do need to use rest on this character, whenever I have to face an EB or higher. But I can live with that.

    Level 25 Science Warshade
    Primary Power Set: Umbral Blast
    Secondary Power Set: Umbral Aura
    Power Pool: Speed

Stygian cycle and the forms inherent recovery rate (which mind you, is weaker than Stamina) is all I need. But this is a special case, even if I had Stamina, it wouldn't matter as I spend most of my time in either one of my two forms.

So, there you go, four builds that I actually play and have experience with (not just theorycraft) that do not have, nor will ever need Stamina. Or are you gonna say Masterminds don't count? Or that I'm lying? Cause man, I sure don't know what I'd do if my play experiences are fake!
  10. Ahh wow, I never noticed I swapped two of the numbers for the arc's ID. No wonder, oh well! I've enjoyed reading your reviews nonetheless. If you ever do get to it (not that I expect it considering it was a major snafu on my part), the actual ID number is 15381.

Edit: I apologize now, I just realized that the changes to critter powers actually made my custom group harder, a certain critter is meant to have fear, and pre changes it did have fear and a half. Now? It has fear, confuse, and a hold. As such, I lowered the difficulty of the group as a whole to make up for the increased difficulty of that one critter.
  11. Unless I completely missed it, it seems you skipped over my arc listed in page 2, way way back in page 2 (at 30 posts per page). I'd still love to get a review out of ya, even if you end up giving it 0 stars, but a harsh review is better than a 5 star farmer.

    Ally/Captive

So I'm working on an arc, and in order to maintain a certain feel to the last mission, I need to know of a way so that the NPC you encounter (does not fight) stays in the captured animation for the entire time the player is in the mission.

At first I thought it'd be making the NPC an ally and have it set to do nothing, but it will eventually go to an idle animation. Even if I set all three animations (captured, rescued, lost) to be the same, it will go to the idle animation until I get far enough away for it to be lost, but that's not what I want.

Is there any way to do this? I tried captive but it just runs away, not surprised, as that's what I expected but it couldn't hurt to try.

    Arc Reviews

I'd like to throw my review to the sharks, if anyone is able to review it, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Arc Name: Heaven's Not Enough
    Arc ID: 15381
Arc Length: Expect an hour or so
Notes: It'd be a wee bit of a challenge to a squishy. It has a fear using critter, so don't be surprised.
  14. I would love some feedback on "Heaven's Not Enough" (15831) if you get a chance. It says very long but it should take about an hour. It also says 7 ratings but at least two of those were from 5 star farmers.
  15. I could use some feedback on my arc "Heaven's Not Enough" (15831). It does make use of a single long map, but aside from that, it shouldn't be too bad.
  16. I published a lowbie villain arc, it's meant to be a sewer run available to villains with a very small story to keep it together. First mission is 1-10, 2 and 3 are 1-14, while 4 and 5 are 5-15.

    Sewer Cleanup (58660)
  17. I'd love to get my arc an honest review (two so far have been 5 star farmers) to balance out the inflated rating it has so far:

    Author: @Rikis
    Level Range: 40-50
Subject: Miriam Bloelch has need of your help again!
    Arc 15831 - Name: Heaven's Not Enough
    Rating:

I warn you now, it does have a couple of the things you said you don't like. Mission two, sadly has you do a run around the map, because of faulty front, middle, and back placement.
  18. Title: Sewer Cleanup
    ID: 25761
    Morality: Villainous

This is my response to the hero runs. Villains get a sewer run too! All maps are long (not a short arc) and it has a very minor story (don't play it for the story). It's just so that villains don't feel leftout of the sewer fun. It is a pretty low level arc (first mish caps out at 10 and the rest at 14-15) so don't do it with your higher characters if you want exp,
  19. Heaven's Not Enough
    Arc ID: 15381
    Missions: 5
Length: About an hourish or so
    Morality: Heroic
Enemies: Circle of Thorns, Banished Pantheon, Custom
    Level: Minimum 40

Synopsis: Miriam Bloelch requires your assistance in rescueing a hero friend of hers. A mystery quickly develops as the Banished Pantheon prepare for battle as well.

NOTE: Last mission contains a boss that likes to heal itself, an optional ally has been given for those that need it.

    Demonic Rising
    Arc ID: 8735
    Missions: 4
    Length: About 40 minutes
    Morality: Neutral
    Enemies: Custom
    Level: Minimum 5

Synopsis: The tlo'ate demons have started arriving in our world in greater numbers. Help curb their numbers while uncovering their goals.

NOTE: **NOT** Meant to be soloable, though it was soloed on test, the soloers told me it took them quite a few deaths (some reached the debt cap). It's best to be tackled by a team.

    Dark Dreams
    Arc ID: 18914
    Length: Medium
    Morality: Heroic
Mission 1: Unique map, level range 1-54, Contains Ambush, Release Captive, Ally.
Mission 2: Unique map, level range 45-54, Contains Ambush, Boss( 2 AVs encountered seperately), Ally
    Enemy Groups: Custom
Description: A frantic 911 call about shadowy monsters invading an office building during their annual Father/Son Day sets off a story of where these strange monsters came from and why they are so interested in a young boy named Seth McNiel. (Tried to make it solo friendly).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Loved the custom group, really well done and put together, put mine to shame. The two maps really fit the atmosphere you set for the story, wonderfully chosen. The story is almost exactly in concept to an arc I'm working on now actually, which was a plus . Its length kinda restricts the story though (how did the first boss in the second mission find out about... you know?) and I also felt the ambush after you get the ally was a little excessive (thankfully, I did it at the end).

Edit: Ahh forgot to post mine up.

    Arc Name: Heaven's Not Enough

    Arc ID: 16590

    Creator: @Shwarze Sonne (on test)

    Alignment: Heroic

Difficulty Level: Challenging. The custom mobs are designed to be challenging, but at the same time not impossible. Multiple boss fights in missions 3 and 5 as well as an AV (downgraded EB when solo) as the final fight. Recently added an optional ally.

Synopsis: Miriam Bloelch has need of your help again. She has sent an old hero friend of hers against the Circle of Thorns and now her friend requires that she be rescued. A mystery quickly develops as the Banished Pantheon prepare themselves for battle as well.

    Number of Missions: 5

Length: It should take a little over an hour, only one defeat all, but the map has a total of 7 or so spawns.

    Thank you.

    Dominator!

This is my very first CoV video , so go gentle on me! Nevertheless, criticism and praises are both welcomed equally. I have absolutely no idea on how to edit demos, so I just used Zloth's demo launcher and removed the numbers from the demos.

All the missions are on relentless. I do apologize for the first two scenes because they are changed so abruptly. As for the songs, I chose the first one because the very beginning sounds very carnival like. The second simply because the way I play with my dominator is more like a dance and a waltz fits right in.
