I cannot slot accurate to hit debuff sets in Darkest Night. AT least that's what the enhancement screen says. I didn't actually check this,
[/ QUOTE ]
The reason is darkest night doesn't need a to hit check. Its an auto hit toggle. Acc to hit debuff sets aren't supposed to be allowed on powers that don't need to hit checks. -
I've loaded up my bag of tricks. Just hope we won't need them. This should be interesting. Arachnos, Circle of Thorns, and NPC villians try to take on 8 scrappers.
-
No doubt the rad and dark set are stronger on a defender. The blast on the corr are stronger so it evens out in the de buff department. At least I would think that. I could be wrong.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I started writing a spreadsheet to compare Dark vs Rad for the purposes of AV fights several days ago, but I never finished it...
[/ QUOTE ]
Hurry up and finish. Lol I plan on trying to solo scrapyard when my sonic/rad corr gets to 50 and gets his weight up. -
[ QUOTE ]
OK, this is a strong contender too. Conceptually it might even work out. What advantage does /Rad have over /Dark? Is it a huge leap ahead?
[/ QUOTE ]
Rad has powers that do the same thing as dark except in the form of target aoes with def debuff added in the mix (that can be slotted with -res proc). Two toggle auto hits and one that needs a to hit check. The one with the tohit check also kills regen. The heal is an aura but not as strong as dark's heal. It also has an aura click power that adds dmg, speed, recharge, and recovery. With hasten and other recharge bonuses, that power can be made perma. In turn, help getting hasten perma as well. And the tier 9 is one of the best holds in the game. Hit that then a nuke and watch and see what happens. Oh. How can I forget fallout -

Happy Birthday- and I love scrappers too! (looks like someone else shares your candles with you!)

Happy Birthday 7/15er!
This is four of us today that I've seen with their birthday today.
Thank you for the compliments on the Scrapper costumes everyone! I got myself the Super Science pack today and am going to mess around with it on my live characters. Wewt!
[/ QUOTE ]
Wha...? That came out today? 6:15 need to hurry and get here! (3:33 now) -

I'm in. Seriously, sign me up!
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol sign up in the "all scrapper STF" thread.
Back on topic, can anyone tell me the dmg bonus of aao + rage with let's say 5 to 7around you? I forgot and I'm not near mids to check and that's been bugging me. I'm thinking with perma rage and saturated aao would make the shield charge foot stomp combo a serious hard hitter. -
I recall a brute guide with the headline "Welcome to slash!" Its not just brute smash anymore.
My style of dual blade is herd em up and cut em up! Slash! Slash! Slash! Slash! With all the aoe goodness. The only thing that seperates my playstyle between my DB/WP brute and DB/invul scrapper is one attack. Dark Obliteration. The dark blast equal to fire blast's fireball. Scrappers can't get itbut brutes can. And they can get ball lightning. Adding more aoe goodness to the glory that is sweep and attack vitals. So, for me, it came down to the epics (I'm not gonna start). Honestly, picking one over the other was hard so I needed a tie breaker.
-
On my fire/fire, I went for rech, then hp, then regen. I got healing flames to 13 second recharge. I can't remember my exact hit points but i have all 4 of the auto accolades. I still need more recharge. I'm trying to get fsc to fire twice in one BU. That will allow it to fire 4 times with FE up. I even picked up tough... A hard choice for me but pretty much needed. Didn't take weave though. The only content I really had the squishy feeling was when I was in striga fighting the puppies at lvl 22 trying to get silver bullet. Them dogs have bite. Lol

For which AT Shield defense is better for--- depends on the attack set AND the player really. Shield with SOs only is ok, add IOs and it gets really good.
I have 2 lvl 50 Shield toons-- BS/ Shield scrap and Shield/ SS tank. Both have stood against LR in the STF w/o external buffs---> Only using temp powers and inspires. Granted when the scrapper did it, I did die quite a few times until the Blue and Red tower were down. Did I mention this was on an all scrapper STF?
Last time with the tank, we saw after we started that we had no buff toons nor single target heals. Just a slight overlook there, but my SG likes to do crazy team set-ups. So, watching my defense #'s, drop a few purps, activate OwtS and jump at LR. Once OwtS drops, toggle on the Wedding Band. Use greens, purps and oranges as necessary. Almost got me once or twice, but regen and greens got me back to full health, no problem really.

Taking notes for sundays all scrapper stf run on test. I think we have one spot left. -
[ QUOTE ]
The average (SOs) performance is about that of fire, or perhaps a little higher. An IOed out SD/x Tank is very survivable however (lots of resitance to Smashing/Lethal, capped defenses, lots of life). I made a build that caps all defenses, max hp, and smashing/lethal resistances while OWtS is up. And it has 37 hps of regen. So I would say that how enjoyable the tank would be depends in large part on your budget. However, I just wouldn't exemp below 20 much at all if I were you. All the downs, none of the ups at those levels.
[/ QUOTE ] heh. I will have to. I missed the CoT trial and Posi TF. But I took out kurse and night widow nocturne already (faultline is tha shh...). But I hit 20 when I finished that arc so I will have to fashback to help penny find her dad. And I missed the spelunker badge mission. Those low levels don't scare me. That's what the bag of tricks (temp powers) is for. Exemping down to low level content on high level builds. -

I have a question kinda related to the topic at hand: Wouldn't the -def from Rage crashes be problematic for a Shield/SS Tank?
[/ QUOTE ] nope. That can be handled -
[ QUOTE ]
For the record I did a STF the other day with some of the Freedom Horde down in the freedom bored and our tank was a shield tank. The only support we had for him during the towers was an ill/rad troller and we managed just fine. The tank had much more problems with Ghost widow.
Just wanted to clear up the silly rumor that shield tanks can't tank recluse.
[/ QUOTE ]
I never said it couldn't be done. It better be doable. My goal is to do every TF in the game with every alt I roll and don't delete. That includes my SD/SS tank. Unless its a themed STF, most of the time, there will only be one tank on the team so, most likely, if I'm on the TF with my tank then I'm "the" tank for that run. I expect to be able to stand in sands's spawn point and be seen dancing in the cut screen (that is always funny). I expect to be able to get all of the vines in front on the thorn tree by myself. and I expect to be able to tank all 16 of the AVs including GW. My other tanks can survive a soul storm without outside help, I will expect my SD tank to do the same (owts). -

I'm curious what makes SD good for AoE?
[/ QUOTE ]
That power called Against All Odds... yeah that's a damage bonus for every foe you have in melee range. Stand in a group (ideally with softcapped defense), and you'll be looking at anywhere from a 30-80% damage boost pretty regularly. Throw Build Up on top and you can see where it's going. Shield also has Shield Charge, which is a strong AoE teleport. Fire/SD is pretty popular for what you seem to like to do.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't believe FM slipped my mind like that. I didn't bother editing because I knew someone would add that. Yup FM/SD is a good one too. The awsome sauce is when you get the recharge of fsc under 8 or 9 second so you can use it twice while build up is active. You get it to 7 and you can squeeze shield charge in there too. I know BU is 10 seconds but breathing room never hurts. -
[ QUOTE ]
now the question is, what is a good secondary to go with Martial Arts?
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm... You said you didn't want a /SD right now. You plan on a DM/regen, maybe. Hmm... I'd say MA/FA. The stuns and knockdown effects will help keep you standing and keep them in burn a little longer. (Hmm... I think ill go make a AE mish with an AV with MA/fire manipulation set. Burn, blazing aura, and hot feet combined with all them kicks would piss a lot of people off *evil laugh*) -
Umm... You mean scrapper right? Right... I look at aoe in two ways. Aoe easy and aoe fun. Aoe easy would be spines and a dmg aura like dark armor and fire aura. Just cut the toggles on and run in and watch the carnage unfold. Aoe fun would be a lot of click attacks with aoe goodness like BS/SD combo or DB and what ever. I have much fun on my DB/invul. I herd mobs up around a corner or in a tight area and cut loose! Then jump out by myself. Sweep combo and attack vitals combo over and over. I can't wait to get home and play. I'm getting excited just talking about it. Hmm.. How about a DB/FA or DB/DA? That sounds like the best of both worlds. I'd pick DB/FA so you can stack FE and BF then cut loose for more dmg and have blazing aura hitting them too.

So about Hro'. He was one of the easier AVs for me, what do yall think of trying him and Nemesis at the same time?

I can see it now. Veng being stacked on both avs everytime a minion drops. -

I like my SD/SS tank so far. I did see a SD tank repeatdly get dropped by LR in STF even with its def stacked with ice armor. Made taking the towers a pain. They may have to *cough* take tough and weave to survive such a task. Then again, I don't how the tank or the ice defender were slotted. I did see a soft cap SD/SS tank take on mobs in the supa dupa troll AE arc and pretty much did not get touched. That's not a farm. Just a real hard arc. Seeing that gave me something to look forward to on my tank.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its probably just slotting. last time I did an stf, our stone tanker got floored many many times. We ended up using a buffed sr scrap for our alpha soaker.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ive seen that before. that's just horried. at the least, have the armor 6 slotted 3 def and 3 res and take the auto powers. oh well. -

I can't answer this without bias because of two things. 1) I hate the fighting pool when I know there is another way (see build one). 2)that same build has my most favorite power in the game removed to make room for *cough* the fighting pool...
-
But but. Who doesnt want to set up overnight SC camping and overnight dmg farms? Or using all their patrol XP running around grandville to get one shotted over and over. Who doesnt want to monitor their leveling speed and remember to do every bank mission. Who doesn't want to run all over the zones badge and plaque reading? Who doesn't want to hunt down marcone campos in port oaks? What fun is there in the game if you dont do these things? Lol

Oh btw. The scrapper that I'm bringing name is Saffire Orchid-DM/Regen

[ QUOTE ]
how do i get Hamios? or just from the tf?
[/ QUOTE ]
You can get them from STF, wentworths, or the Hami raids. On virtue, back to back hami raids (hive then hive 2) are ran on saturdays and wednesdays. Sometime, they are ran other days as well. -
[ QUOTE ]
I mostly play on teams so I think I'm most interested in Acc and Dam...although, everyone likes the gift of Def...I might try to go all 3 but I'll definitley skip Veng...
When you say "desired sets" are you referreing to anything in particular?
[/ QUOTE ]
No. People slot for different things and different IO sets give different bonuses. Including def sets.
