We'll be here to answer your questions about those too.
Yeah, what'd you have in mind? I'm presently working on one too.

lol ok!
Well, it's looking like Sonic/Dark would be very strong to me, stacking those -Resists with Tar Patch. What's your opinion on this?
Mid's is not letting me slot Cloud Senses IOs in Darkest Night and Dark Servant but it WILL let ne slot them on my /Dark MM. Is this a bug? Or is it accurate? If it's a bug how can I fix it please.
Fluffy also appears to be permanent right out of the box? It shows a duration of 240 seconds and a recharge of 240 second? That can't be right can it?
Other than that the build is still to unpolished yet. I just began serious work on it. I'll post it if it seems to be panning out.

Sounds promising. In fact, my new Corruptor (played to level 31) is Sonic/Traps. The idea is the same: dropping multiple Acid Mortars for lots of -res to go with the -res from Sonic Blast.
Plus, in all the time I've been playing CoV I have never run into another Sonic/Traps.

I have NO idea.
If you are just getting /Dark for Tar Patch, then I would suggest maybe getting a /Cold instead. Good all-around set with good debuffs and a few good team buffs as well.
Knowing PF (and by "knowing" I mean "stalking his forum posts for months"), I think he's ultimately interested in soloing AVs, and the damage debuffs, big heal, easy stackability of Tar Patch, pet and hold might all be considerations.
I would say go Fire/Dark, because nothing is more fun then Tar Patch + Fire Breath + Fire Ball and Rain of Fire.

Considering somebody was soloing AVs with a Ice/cold, a Sonic/cold would work as well. Not saying Sonic/dark is a bad choice. It's one of the few corr/defender combos I would run at this point.
Oh, I'm not saying it's not possible. I just believe Dark offers several other advantages than Tar Patch over Cold - and I don't mean Cold hasn't any advantages over Dark. I'm just saying it's two different powersets working differently.

That's my thinking as well. I am also familiar with /Dark and really liked it on my MM. That heal is awesome!
Conceptually either would actually work pretty well though. I just sort of defaulted to /Dark and haven't given /Ice a closer look. I'll do that today though.
PF, if you're curious about what ranged set to go with, I just finished a rather throatpunchingly annoying analysis of the Blaster primaries here. It's not really all that applicable to Blasters, seeing as no self respecting optimized Blaster attack chain is going to include only primary powers, but it works well for a glance at how the Corrupter versions should compare with each other (though Sonic would gain a bit more ground simply because of the slightly higher res values).

That is the "solo absolutely everything" option... i think you're right... he'd enjoy it.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
Sonic Blast/Rad Em (cor) or Rad Em/Sonic Blast (def) is the proven Giant Monster soloing choice.

OK, this is a strong contender too. Conceptually it might even work out. What advantage does /Rad have over /Dark? Is it a huge leap ahead?

Rad has powers that do the same thing as dark except in the form of target aoes with def debuff added in the mix (that can be slotted with -res proc). Two toggle auto hits and one that needs a to hit check. The one with the tohit check also kills regen. The heal is an aura but not as strong as dark's heal. It also has an aura click power that adds dmg, speed, recharge, and recovery. With hasten and other recharge bonuses, that power can be made perma. In turn, help getting hasten perma as well. And the tier 9 is one of the best holds in the game. Hit that then a nuke and watch and see what happens. Oh. How can I forget fallout

Here's my take: Dark spanks Rad hard when it comes to survivability [edit: against AVs]. It has more tohit debuffs (enough to make an impact, even on AVs), more -damage (which AVs don't intrinsically resist), and a much better heal (twice as strong, iirc). Top it off with Fluffy / SF and you can withstand a lot more punishment than Rad can.
On the other hand, Rad will beat Dark when it comes to offensive prowess against AVs. It has a much stronger (and permable) regen debuff, extra recharge/recovery, and its res debuff is a toggle (so AVs can't wander out of it). Rad is also less clicky than Dark, so that leaves you with more animation time to spend on attacks.
I started writing a spreadsheet to compare Dark vs Rad for the purposes of AV fights several days ago, but I never finished it...

Hurry up and finish. Lol I plan on trying to solo scrapyard when my sonic/rad corr gets to 50 and gets his weight up.

Corr EF is only -22.5% though, while Tar Patch is -30% and, given that it should be able to doublestack for at least 10s even including cast times, that's really -40%. Corr -res from sonic attacks is "only" -15% as well, making -res from secondary more important than on defenders.
If we were comparing defenders I wouldn't argue, seeing as their EF, their AM and their blast debuffs are all stronger while tar patch stays the same, but for corruptors I'm wondering if it is so clear cut - snowball effect and all, it could be easy to believe son/rad is better on corrs just because rad/son is better on defenders, and not even giving a try to dark.
No doubt the rad and dark set are stronger on a defender. The blast on the corr are stronger so it evens out in the de buff department. At least I would think that. I could be wrong.

True, but keep in mind that AVs can't run out of EF like they can Tar Patch. That and Rad also has +dmg/rech/recov and a -regen advantage. (If Dark wants -regen outside of Howling Twilight, it'd need to use Twilight's Grasp for a piddly 50% regen debuff.)
Like I said, I started to create a spreadsheet comparison to see exactly how much of a difference there is between the two, but I never finished it. I need to.
Seems my interest in CoH may be a bit thin these days. It comes and goes for me. I'll take some time off or change my game focus or whatever, then I'll get re-interested again and it starts all over.

Last time it was soloing AVs.
I had a crazy experience one day and damn near killed an Arch-Villain. I came here to post about it and my eyes were opened! People were doing this! So I set out to learn.
And learn I did! One question after another was answered by the community. I was introduced to Arcanatime and soft capping and attack chains and on and on. While I still feel terribly ignorant on many many topics, I have learned a good bit.
All here on the Scrapper forums.
It's really quite awesome to me that so many knowledgeable players spend so much time here answering questions. I try to pay back some of the kindness I have been shown but I'm often still not too sure of my answers so I tend to wait, and sure enough, before long someone comes along and responds and I'll go "Ha! That's what I was gonna say!" or more likely, "What! Really! OMG I didn't know that!"
People even come here for help with other AT.
I love that. Hell, I was tempted to ask for help on my Corrupter in the "Build Me a <Blank> Thread".
Here's to Werner, and Sarrate, and Arcanaville, and Umbral, and Broken Prey, and Chaos String, and Nihilii, and Iggy, and Shredder, and a whole helluva lot of you I can't remember.
Thank you for helping when you didn't have to.
Now, about that Corrupter...
