  1. I'll just keep replying to my own post here, perhaps I should attempt to create logins for my alts
Got a nice little screenshot gallery online and its working too *insert evil cackle here*
Since it just REALLY got online and working last night, there are not too many pics there, but I trust my cohorts of evil to start posting their pics soon
    Gallery Linkage

Also, our membercount has now crept above 20 - not much compared to those HUGE sgs out there I'll admit, but its a good bunch of people and we got a good-natured banter going on the SG chat channel most of the time.
  2. And it was always snowing! don't forget the snow!
Plus Fifth Column troops were everywhere! you couldn't even get into the tram and escape to other zones there were so many ... right ... now im clearly rambling

    Hi there :)

Welcome aboard - enjoy the climb towards power and Grandville
  4. Grand! Forgot that I had changed my total cat handle and now the editing chance has expired
Oh well, the correct global handle is @Stomparr
  5. Seventh Cabal Recruitment Drive
Well, just a bit of shameless promotion for the recently started SG "Seventh Cabal" which has started building the foundation for a good group here at Defiant.

We are still very much in the recruitment phase, but hopefully that should pick up soon, so we can build a proper base, get into raiding and share in all that "established SG fun" we have been hearing about.
Our main goal is to make teaming easier and gather a good group of people who just want to have fun playing City of Villains - and of course gather hoards of exp and infamy in the process.

This weekend the website and forum went online - not too much there yet, but we are only just getting started
The goal of the forum is both to act as a place of recruitment, but perhaps more importantly, be a place where SG members can share information so everyone can be in the loop.
    Linkage: Website found at http://www.seventh-cabal.dk/

So take a look - application to the SG can either be done using our forum, or by sending me a global tell when I am online using @PyroOmega.

So don't waste any time - join the latest wretched hive of scum and villainy;-)
  6. Agree - bases are insanely costly in all ways - it just seems like someone had a complete brain-meltdown when they decided the prices for all the stuff - it's just wrong on so many levels
And the whole point of collecting salvage and spending money on worktables is sort of moot when you have to pay extra just to get the item.
  7. Barrage isn't really that low-power an attack, and of course it's good for building fury, which is why i usually have it on auto-fire for the first part of a mission as it cycles quick and has a quick animation.

It deliveres close to 70% of the damage of Energy Punch, so it's okay in my book - and Barrage, Energy Punch and Bone Smasher are a good cycle of damage while you wait for Total Focus and Energy Transfer to come back up
  8. Sure do - this is the Energy/Invulnerable build for my level 40 Brute. It's made with PvE in mind as I don't really find PvP all that interesting, and it has served me well so far
Note that I primarily have Invincibility for the Acc bonus when fighting several opponents; with the penalties Unyielding stacks on your defense, its not worth the slots to go for defense buffing.

  9. Inspirations:
I have noticed that giving Inspirations to henchmen doesn't always work as intended. If I drag an inspiration unto a specific henchman in the "pet window" it only works on said henchmen less than half of the time; the inspiration vanishes from my inventory but it never has any effect on the henchman.

However, if I take an inspiration and drop it unto the henchman directly (rather than using the window) it always fire off right away.
    Very strange methinks.

    Group Fly
The problem with people affected by Group Fly falling out of the sphere even when on follow is most likely connected to the power itself - it's an old problem with that power. For some reason the person using the power is moving faster than the ones being affected by it.
  10. Yeah well, guess I had to toot my own horn, but my Brute finally hit 40 - now I can play all my alts again
  11. Unstoppable is great - it has finally enabled my Brute to go head to head with a Red or even Purple Ballista without having to resort to loads of purples and finish him off before he did me in - in fact there was time enough to spare to kick around a team of Longbow minions as well, before the power ended.
  12. Combat Jumping is probably a matter of preference then - I never PvP so that just doesnt factor into my way of playing the game - but for PvE CJ is dead to me; for moving fast I have SJ

I must say I cannot recall the exact numbers of resist on Unyielding vs Acrobatics, but I know that Acrobatics gives 1 mag of resist and I am fairly certain that the numbers on Unyielding is better. The only time I have experienced being held was with 2 Family Consiglieries who was both chainholding me and had 1 Singularity out each - after about 40 seconds they had stacked enough holds on me to actually kill my toggles.

At any rate, that's my 2 cents worth

    They fixed Jump Kick?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've been kicking over bosses and heroes/avs since i respecced to get it around level 26 when i realised that combat jumping was completely pointless
Actually kept the Back Alley Brawler on his backside for a good deal of the fight against him with JK on auto-fire - which was a good thing considering the amount of hurt he was laying down when he was up and hitting.
  14. First of all, get Unyielding much much sooner i.e. take it at level 16 when it becomes available. That power is your best friend and will make fighting enemies with hold powers (mesmerize, sleep, etc) and enemies stunning you about 100 times more fun

Combat Jumping is a waste of power in my book, it just doesnt add enough defence anymore. I would go for jump kick in stead - its really usefull to keep Bosses, Heroes and Arch-Villains on their backsides while you pound them into the ground

Drop Acrobatics - when you have Unyielding you are not going to be knocked over.

Get Invincibility - that extra accuracy while fighting multiple enemies is very very nice.

Also, consider switching Build Up for post-level 20 - that will allow you to get Stamina at level 20, and you REALLY want that, believe me
  15. As far as I know, Weave gives a measly 5-6% defense when 3-slotted with SOs, which makes it pretty much useless in my book ... now of course, being a Brute I SMASH PUNY BOOK!
But seriously, Weave was great once, but like Combat Jumping it isnt worth it now.

I don't think I exaggerate when I say that this would be the greatest and most important thing in the history of humanity since the descovery of fire.

I agree 100% - I believe this is serious enough to warrant the attention of at least the UN We need more SMASH!
  17. Brutes feel like Tankers did back in I3 - great fun, and being somewhere between Scrappers and Tankers in damage output and defenses makes them very playable.
If I wasn't suffering from severe alt-holism, I would probably have gotten my Brute to level 40 by now as he is great fun to play with ... although the path to level 16 (Unyielding power) seemed a bit long and the toon was constantly being stunned and held
  18. Rhinoxx

    sappers

Well the Malta Group IS specifically made to battle superheroes, so they should be very hard opponents
As for Sappers, well you are probably already targetting them to go down before anyone else in a Malta mob - and apart from that, make sure to carry at least 2x break free and 2x luck before entering a Malta mish - that should give you time enough to run if a Sapper gets the lockdown on you.
Running away is often the best defense.

That at least is my experience.
  19. I just started out a Stalker a few nights ago, and have noticed one thing with heists where the guards always seem to rush the door; if I actually manage to get a few yards away from the doorway, the guards seem unable to spot me - its as if they are homing in on my starting spawn point, and if the toon is not there, they just stand there totally confounded

  21. Soul Drain is a power best used against regular mobs, as more enemies will add considerably to your SD buff, but this will also be depending on your slotting. With 3+ foes around you, there should be something like a +18% increase to damage (AFAIK).
Also, enemies should receive a 8% ACC debuff, making you just as annoying as those pesky Bone Daddys
In my experience Soul Drain is a must-have power, but I suspect it might be very dependent on playing style. I find it very usefull for fighting 1) higher levels mobs, 2) enemies who can debuff my acc like Nerva Daemons and 3) very useful for getting the jump on AVs and the like

Midnight Grasp needs a bit of slotting before it really starts to shine. If you want to immobilize bosses and the likes, you need 2 immobilize slots in it. '
I have personally used it for the damage, and slotted it for 3x DAM, which gives off some nice DoT ticks and is useful for stopping runners

If I understand you want to tell them to attack the target of my friend? I just give them the attack command while targeting a friend. Works for me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

that's the one - that used to be called "team target", might have changed name though
When I target a team mate and order attack, I just get "invalid target!" from my robots, after which they start shooting at random targets.

I am using the robotics bind from Master_Zaprobo and as far as I can determine, that is a pretty standard attack order?

Ah yes - the old ploy with insulting the work of someone and then asking them to do fix it
