Soul Drain / Midnight Graps - take or respec out?
[ QUOTE ]
im having soul drain for some time now, currently 2 slotted (+acc +tohit), but im still unsure if ill keep it. just doesnt convince me. with soul drain activated ill do a series of 26dmg with shadow maul, instead of the usual 24dmg (8x 2points difference = 16 points of extra damage) [tested at level 3x]. i dont really need the extra acc, since i usually dont have problems fighting +3s/+4s, so i dont know if i should keep soul drain?
im still a brute newbie, any tips or help appreciated.

You get both a damage and tohit buff for how many enemies are in range when you use soul drain. Gather a few up around you before using it and you should notice more of a difference.
I'll leave the other question to someone else as I've never used Midnight Grasp.

Soul Drain is a power best used against regular mobs, as more enemies will add considerably to your SD buff, but this will also be depending on your slotting. With 3+ foes around you, there should be something like a +18% increase to damage (AFAIK).
Also, enemies should receive a 8% ACC debuff, making you just as annoying as those pesky Bone Daddys
In my experience Soul Drain is a must-have power, but I suspect it might be very dependent on playing style. I find it very usefull for fighting 1) higher levels mobs, 2) enemies who can debuff my acc like Nerva Daemons and 3) very useful for getting the jump on AVs and the like
Midnight Grasp needs a bit of slotting before it really starts to shine. If you want to immobilize bosses and the likes, you need 2 immobilize slots in it. '
I have personally used it for the damage, and slotted it for 3x DAM, which gives off some nice DoT ticks and is useful for stopping runners
Soul drain, imo, is the best power in the DM powerset. as a DM/FA i pull big mobs. soul drain their [censored] and apart from the moderate dmg it does, it boosts everything else to insane proportions. I'm lvl 35 and my shadow maul is hitting for about 40dmg per punch (on +1's) with soul drain and fury....i like it lots!!! I dunno much about midnight grasp, have been considering getting it for AV's/bosses, need more single target SMASHing (the only problem with the DM powerset imo)

2nd question is about midnight graps, i got it at 32, and i was kind of disppointed concerning the "superior" damage. well actually it didnt do more than my smallest punch, i dont have numbers, but the damage seems to be ultra-low. as for pve its completely useless, im doing +3s all the time, never needed a single-target-melee-hold, which actually only immobilizes, so foes still shooting at me.
on the other hand it could be handy for pvp, holding those blasters and defenders so i can beat them, but still im thinking about to drop soul drain + midnight grasp at next respec for boxing->tough.
any tips for me please?
