Personally, I think "really good katana" should just be its own special mention on the list, and a lot of other swords would just fall under that. All of those are fairly interchangeable. Most of the other swords on this list are at least somewhat unique or have unique qualities.

Yeah, the last Superman movie was a parade of wasted talent.
-
Just remember that every time you come across something in Trek that doesn't make logical sense, a Q did it.
-
I began to lose interest after they did that time travel reboot. It was still better than a lot of stuff out there though.
-
I'd probably check to make sure nothing predictably cataclysmic was about to happen to Earth for the next several thousand years. Then I would travel off to an empty area of space to build my own world from scratch.

There seems to be a lot of Bat-looking vehicles being used by other people. It must be a main part of the story line.

Quote:What is up with that eyepatch? It better not be one of those Rassilon's artifacts. That guy named way too much stuff after himself.

I know what you are getting at, but it makes sense that they would share a lot of similarities. The Ultimates was a relatively modern retelling of the stories. And the movie is also a modern retelling of the stories.

He looks fine to me. I'm not crazy about the scaled suit, but it's not bad. It just doesn't look like something Ma Kent could ever make.
Nothing in that picture suggests a bad movie at any rate. There is definite action effort going on there. Although I can't tell how much of that is photoshop. That may just be his head grafted onto a CG image. -
It seems to be one of those "facts" that was vague at different times.
Everything from the new series seems to assume that all Gallifreyans are Timelords.
But from the history, Gallifreyans became Timelords, since Rasilon was the first. So, at some point in time you had Gallifreyans who weren't Timelords, but then at some further point in time, all of them seem to be. -
I'd say a Mind Control/Kinetics Controller. How often does the doctor talk someone into doing something against their desires, but only for a short time. And we know he is psychic.
And Kinetics is pretty similar to time manipulation, but more importantly, kinetics represents using your opponents' power against themselves which is the Doctor's number two tactic.
And as for regeneration, every CoH character comes back from the dead all of the time. It might as well be the second most common superpower. -
Quote:It does seem very strange to give up something so major in a trailer.Well, it'd be a bit odd to give away such a major twist in the trailer, I'm expecting it'll be something else and that scene was included to do what a trailer is designed to do, get people talking.
Although, it's far more likely that EPW becomes River than River becoming EPW. I can see EPW getting killed off, just to regenerate into River. The regen would fix her eye, but she'd still be wearing the eyepatch. A big part of River being in jail may be from crimes she committed as EPW. -
I'm coming back to the game after a long break, and was wanting to make a tank. I was wondering what powersets are good for both pvp and tanking. Soloing isn't very important to me, and I'll mostly be tanking, but I will want to pvp from time to time.

Just a head's up for everyone, we're going to be buckling down to get Issue 12 done...so you may see a lull in redname activity on the forums for a bit. Might not get as many immediate responses to PMs...mailboxes will probably fill up...posts demanding immediate answers will undoubtedly go unanswered. We're not ignoring you guys, we just have a bajillion little issues to tie up and we really need to focus on that right now.
[/ QUOTE ]Of course, it's been like this since issue 1, but it's nice to get a heads up from the devs. And I guess some of our less seasoned posters may not know about the pre-issue dev lull. -
I personally think the devs keep adding too much low level content. With this addition, it will probably be impossible to do it all with one character. Fortunately we have Ouroborus, but it still seems like time should be spent at less interesting levels.

I just wanted to add that I'd love to see this changed as well. I used to make post after post back in the old days, but like most, I just gave up after a while. I've never been happy with Ice Melee, and while it can be fun at times, Frozen Aura seems like the most frustrating power that I've had with any character. It feels backwards and weak, and to get something like that as a tier 9 power...
[/ QUOTE ]It would be nice if the devs would start a thread on fixing/replacing Frozen Aura like the thread on Defiance.
I think it is sensible that the ice tier 9 offer more control, but that sleep is just an awful control choice. It would be better as an aoe debuff. Something like -20% to speeds, recharge, damage and accuracy. -
I believe we have been complaining about ice melee since day one. At least in those days ice melee's slick was good to mix with fire armor's burn patches.
So, we've always known that ice is underpowered, and I really think the devs know it too. They just don't think it's worth their time to try to fix it. -
Great guide, but in my builds I prefer to take chillblain at level 1. I do this mostly for the damage. Chillblain recharges twice as fast as block of ice. Which means it does twice the damage of block of ice.
I understand wanting Block of Ice, because enemies that are held do no damage, but enemies in the first few levels don't do much damage anyway. -

Basically, it's the principle of the thing. If you're gonna post as a leader of the Dev team on a board of players, it just might be better to make damned sure your numbers are correct.
[/ QUOTE ]That's the same problem as him going through PR before posting here. I would rather have slightly wrong Statesman, than no Statesman at all. -
Guys, I realize Statesman had the math a little wrong, but it was only off by about 1%. I don't think it was making that much of a difference.
-
Fire is really too terribly common of a weakness. Especially when you consider Ice already has weakness to Toxic and Psi.
How about instead of giving Wet Ice meaningless unslottable defense, you remove the non-psi defense and give it a decent defense bonus to psi.
This way people who have WI slotted are good, and Ice has something a little more unique. All of this without improving the survivability of Ice tanks by a very large margin. -
Sounds interesting. Is the speed debuff staying the same? That's what we slot it for.
-
Further problems with this "fix":
1) If implemented this way, Hamidon Enhancers will likely still be able to effect defense.
2) Do you mean you will be able to upgrade current defense enhancements or will that be stopped as well?
------------------------------------------------------------------
There have been a lot of respected and well informed board members give numbers and examples of why Ice is now broken compared to the other primaries. What is supposed to be the benefit of being Ice? It is not the most defense. That would be Invulnerability. It is not the most control, because Stone has as much. It is obviously not the most damage or resistance. So, what is the reason, other than thematic, to take Ice? What can they accomplish that others can't do just as well or a lot better?
