  1. I wonder if anyone considers Jenny and Donna as Doctors.

I really would have liked a happier ending for Donna.
  2. It might be fun to have the actors return but have them reprise other roles.

You could even hint that they are all time traveling descendants of the Doctor and River, though of course that would never be confirmed. But being descendants would explain why they all favor past incarnations of the Doctor.
  3. I'm beginning to think we are using different definitions for the word "crush". Maybe my definition isn't common.

Amy definitely had a one-way crush on the Doctor. I'm not saying she was madly in love with him, but she did leave her fiance to travel with this strange raggedy man. Amy does develop beyond that though. So, after a point it is mostly just teasing flirting, but in the beginning there was definite crush.

Amy seems like an amalgamation of Rose, Martha and Donna. She has the youth of Rose, the crush of Martha and the brashness of Donna.

Matt's Doctor feels a lot more alien than Tennant's, but Tennant was maybe a little too human anyway. Matt's portrayal also seems to be of a playful old man trapped in the body of a young man. He's not my favorite Doctor, but I think he's done a fairly good job.
  6. I'm a little worried they haven't given her enough personality, but that's probably just from the nature of the clips. If she really is going to be so serious all the time, then she is going to need a really zany villain and sidekicks to play off of.

We haven't even begun to be nit-picky:
Dr. Who actually goes by the name "Dr. Who".
Who is not a Time Lord
Who is apparently a human who built a time machine.

It's like I made a Knightrider movie, but Kitt is just a GPS and Michael Knight is a wizard who goes by the name Knightrider.

Or it's like I made an A-Team movie, but instead of them being mercenaries, they are interior decorators.
  9. I believe they are talking about this movie:
    http://www.hulu.com/watch/142471/dr-who-and-the-daleks

Notice that he's not even "Doctor", but "Dr."
  10. I like the idea of it being a bit of a prequel with a young 1st Doctor. They could have the young Doctor and Master play off each other like a young Professor X and Magneto. And we could have the scene of the Doctor "borrowing" the Tardis.

The only problem with this is if they decide to regenerate their Doctor for a future movie, which wouldn't be a huge deal, since it only throws off the current regeneration count.
  11. I've never understood why people think a sketch comedy show needs pop music guests. Those are two completely different things.

This is similar to my line of thought. We really can't be too sure that another civilization in the past didn't come near our technology level. Very little of what we have built would last for tens of thousands of years. Any series of disasters could knock that civilization back to a dark age.

Just because there is technology, that doesn't mean that it has to be alien in origin. People today are not believed to be any more clever than people from way back when. All you really need is free time and a stable food supply to create a stable environment for innovation.

    The Walking Dead

I don't think I've ever seen a crucifix in a Southern Baptist Church. There might be one out there somewhere, but I'm very doubtful.
  14. I always envisioned that since 4th edition went so strongly towards a class based system, that 5th edition might try for a stronger skill based system. I'm imagining a system where your class mostly just determines what's a skill and a cross-class skill for you and everything else is left up to skill points, including things like BAB and saves.

I also expect 5th to be very app-centric, but I'm not exactly sure how that will be realized.
  15. And the new Avatar series is going to have a female lead.
  16. Did I miss it, or did no one mention Buffy yet?

That roughlys place the Gallifrey and Time Lord civilization being active over 4.5 billion years ago (before our solar system was formed). It's anyone's guess as to the exact date the universe was half it's present size.
We've also seen that moving planets across time and space isn't that difficult. Time isn't really an issue here. If you were going to found a time-spanning society, where would you start?

Humans and Galligrayans are mixable genetically via Donna Noble
Humans seem to be effected by the time vortex and can become Time Lords
We've never seen another Time Lord near Earth save for rebels(of course i haven't watched all Dr. Who)
There is a law against travelling into Gallifrayan history
The Dalleks like to attack Earth a lot and the Dalleks hate the Time Lords...
As mentioned, Earth and Gallifrey are probably not the same planet, and almost certainly not the same solar system. But that doesn't prevent the possibility that time traveling humans of the future might not become the Gallifrayans of the past.

Personally, I doubt that relationship between humans and Gallifrayans. There are quite a few very human looking races in the universe. We were just introduced to another human looking, two-hearted, time manipulating race in The Girl Who Waited, so humans aren't even the most Time Lord like race out there.

Now if we want to argue that Timelords did some sort of seeding of their DNA throughout time and space, that wouldn't surprise me at all.

I would argue that he doesn't even have faith in himself. That is another kind of faith after all. His faith in himself would have been incredibly shaken after the events of the previous episode.

Most humans running speed and jumping height is rather unimpressive, 100 fold isn't getting away from helicopters line of sight.) or stealth you're bound to end up in some violent shoot out with the army or police when they ambush you.
That should be enough strength to tunnel. And the helmet should have enough air to keep you safe down there.

Personally, I'd probably do some non-crime fighting heroing. I would work search and rescue and help with fighting fires, floods and hurricanes.

If you stay out of law and do public good it'd be pretty hard for anyone to try to stop you. The only danger is criminals trying to abduct your loved ones, so you will perform crimes for them. Secret identity is very important.

Yeah. I was a little disappointed when there wasn't a Jim Howlett in the Captain America movie.
  22. I just hope they don't use a self limiting premise for the show:
    DS9: They couldn't go anywhere.
    Voyager: They couldn't get home.
Enterprise: They couldn't change the future/present.

And some of the posted ideas have similar problems:
    Acadamy: They can't graduate.
Future Stuck: They can't get back home.

This just leads to too many idiot ball moments to maintain a status quo. And it really hurts the suspension of disbelief.

ToS and TNG had it best, because they just had a mission to go and do stuff.
  23. I trust Duncan's ability to play parts that Duncan wants to play.
  24. There seems to be no character generation in this game. It looks like you choose one of the pre-existing characters and play as that. I'm not even sure this is a true MMO. It looks pretty instanced and designed to work with a 3 person team. I wouldn't be surprised if the other 2 players are bots.

I think we will just have to wait a couple of weeks for the non-3D version. After watching Thor, I've decided to never see 3d again.
