During downtime of Hasten (I have about 132.5% global recharge in my build) I'm thinking to do SB>BB>QS>SB>BB>QS>CS? The recharge on CS will be down to 157.5% with Hasten down, and 227.5% with it up.
-
Quote:So what's the recharge needed specifically for BB and SB? Those are the only two you'd need to work on for that combo. You actually don't need perma-hasten to do that attack chain. You just need around 55% global recharge. Any more than that is overkill unless you have a super recharge-intensive secondary like /Regen or if you plan on going rogue for Soul Mastery to dip into Shadow Meld. I'm liking it more and more as I build scrappers with the new restrictions. A clicky to soak up alphas is just what most sets need (like Fire) to survive big spawns.
I think KM is a lot easier to find a chain in the fact you're not trying to spam CS but rather place it for the largest Siphon buff.
But wondering if the duration of the individual damage buffs will still be at 5 by the time you use CS? I was thinking its only 7.5 sec per buff? -
I've been working on a KM scrapper and been thinking ahead about an attack chain for AVs/Pylons. Since Siphon gives you more damage per hit, I was thinking of QS>BB>QS>SB>CS
I don't even know if this will work yet unfortunately. -
That's understandable but I always wondered what those DPS numbers were based on for slotting of the power. I wonder if I have the recharge to pull off the incinerate>cremate >fire sword, probably not worth it because I'd most likely have to drop procs.
-
Quote:This is an old topic, but still interesting. I noticed your DPS for incin>scorch>cremate>scorch at 170. My FM/WP is hitting 183 DPS with that combo now.top chain is Incin(146%)>GFS(237%)>Cremate(88%) = ~190 DPS
Incin(72%)>GFS(133%)>Cremate(24%)>Firesword(0%) = ~180 DPS
Incin(144%)>Scorch(74%)>Cremate(89%)>Scorch = ~170 DPS
There are others, but these are the most used. The ~170 DPS chain is the best for EPS, and it also benefits from having the Hecatomb proc in Scorch, which would increase it's DPS.
Leveling, I ran the 170 DPS chain, and ended up going with the top chain because I found that I liked GFS's burst damage too much to part with it.
Here's a link to my post about it:

Ya as long as it has a chance to knock down or back or up, you can slot that proc in the power. You can't stack the effect with multiple procs, but on toons I have multiple on, the proc seems to be active nearly every mob.

Quote:If you eliminate FA, EA, Nin, ElA, SR, WP, Inv, SD, DA and Regen.... all you're left with is Stone or Ice... or forget Kin melee all together.Have a 50 of that already, plus it doesn't fit the theme.
Invuln and WP fit the theme, but are both "stand there and dish it out", not jumpy enough for me. Plus I don't like crashing godmodes.
Elec is good but doesn't fit the theme. Fire doesn't fit theme at all. Plus, have one of each.
Hate Super Reflexes. Ninjitsu is good but would rob me of my AoE. Stalker Willpower, same. Shield Defense, doesn't fit theme, not even sure I can combine it with KM.
Regen, needs Hasten, the character killer.
Did I miss something? So yeah, I'm a bit reaching here.
Here's an idea with Regen, I'm not sure how much KD/KB is in Kinetic melee, but you could slot some Force Feedback +recharge procs in a couple powers. Those tend to fire pretty often and help with long recharge powers if you're skipping hasten. Add those in with global recharge sets and you're in good shape. -
Quote:I know what you're talkin about with the lack of a self heal in WP, but at the same time my /WP is probably one of the strongest scrappers I have. But keep in mind that Aid Self is available to any secondary, from the pools. WP doesn't require any recharge to function well, my FM/WP doesn't have Hasten. No, the tier 9 is not the same. MoG is much more powerful and much shorter.
I also tried and don't enjoy Willpower. I blame the lack of a click heal. Yes, I know RotC is a strong enough heal, but it's not a click. It's not there to psychologically help me when I need it.
Another possibility with WP is using Dark Melee. Dark Melee's Siphon Life is a nice heal to go along with your regen. Its a click heal as well, just needs a target to work. -
my SS/SD required about 4.02end/sec recovery and 112 total end to get the point where the rage/hasten crashes weren't effecting me anymore, and I still took CP.
I have 3 +recharge procs in the build so I pretty much stay damage capped as long as I'm attacking due to double and sometimes triple stacked Rage.
But guess what? Its sooooo worth it! -
Quote:Ya it might have been longer but it wasn't as epic as your Nemesis battle.Took me six hours. That was before the Dark Melee buff. Good times.
I remember spending over an hour on Diabolique with my DM/SR only to give up when she would not allow me to lower her health below 20% due to her bubble+regen.
Santorican, wish I had a rimshot sound effect to attach to your comment :P -
Nemesis was a pain with my DM/SR, took over 45 minutes if I remember right. Maybe I'll revisit that with my new build. She might be my only scrapper that doesn't have issues soloing Positron, Drek and Anti-Matter.
I solo'd Dominatrix with my kat/ela... don't even remember how long that took.
I was able to solo GW in the sense of survival, but I gave up after she healed up a few times, I'll have to try her again sometime and see because so far only my ill/rad/psi has defeated her.
My FM/WP did Chimera, Nightstar, Marauder and Seige together at the same time. She also has solo'd Malaise, not many scrapper builds can do that one. Don't think I've tried LR yet with her, might be do-able considering my survivability actually goes up some when he drops his pets. -
I made a couple tweeks to get you 4.5% more smash/lethal def and 5% more melee defense. Plus it gets you a proc into Jacobs Ladder for some more damage.
Also if you wanted to, you could drop 4 slots off of Fire Blast, put 3 into Char for the Basilik's Gaze set and get the 7.5% recharge, and maybe throw another slot in Health for a miracle/regen tissue proc, or a slot in stamina for 2.5% more damage in Perf Shift set.

I have a level 50 Ele/ElA and a lvl 50 Kat/ElA and they are both great in their own respects.
The lvl 50 Ele/ElA is at 38hp/sec with nearly perma Energize, 37.88% smash/lethal defense and about 35% melee defense. It's great fun for AoE, and can handle +4/8 missions with grace.
The Kat/ElA is softcapped to lethal and Melee damage with 1 application of DA. If I can avoid the need to softcap, I can do the GD>GC>SD>GC combo for some serious DPS. With a self heal, higher regen and that kind of defense, its a great combo. I have quite a few AVs under my belt already. Here's my current build, can squeeze some more recharge out later if I want to get some purple stun IOs.

My fire/shield is currently at 241 dps with "only" 500M or so invested, definitely cheaper then DM/Shield.
I've gotten about 210 dps from my dm/sr, but it required purples to get the recharge I needed.
My fire/wp is only about 175 dps because I sacrificed recharge and the "best" attack chain to increase to crazy survivability levels, but has no problem with any non-def debuff AV.
My Kat/ela has lots of potential, currently sits at about 220 dps, but I could see it going as high as 250+ with more money invested.
I agree that any primary can do it, but avoid spines and electric for single target. SR is about the easiest to use with any primary, regen and willpower are strong but really need alot of support from defense sets or katana/BS's defense buff to get a chance to regen reliably. Don't forget to pick a secondary you can live through an AV fight and maintain endurance while doing it. -
Quote:I didn't make any serious changes yet, although all custom critters give 95-100% XP now.I'd like to make a submission to this.
Sweet Dark Embrace - #93711
All custom enemies except for some surprises. There's an intense story, but I'm sure you can enjoy it without reading if you want. I originally self tested this arc when I made it quite a while ago, and used my AV soloing DM/SR to do it. Needless to say, with a full team it was waaay too hard. I toned it down to allow a team to not wipe constantly. If needed I can change it back, but maybe +2/8 will be hard enough (+4/8 might be too hard, not sure with a full team). -
Quote:I would try and fit in all the defense you can. At least Combat Jumping and Weave. What were wanting to fit you are having problems deciding on?A couple of questions on this. Do you need tough in an Elec build? What about weave? If you ignore defense can you survive reasonably well?
Seems like a fun character, but I keep playing in Mids and thinking that it's a really really tight build that I'd have to give up a lot to make work. -

I'd advise against any travel besides SS, Grounded loses its KD/KB protection in the air.
I agree about Jacobs ladder, I tend to skip it as well. -

Ele/Ela is one of the most fun toons I have to play. I built for a mix of recharge and smash/lethal def. I have Energize buff nearly permanent, and 38.7% smash/lethal and 35% melee def. Any mobs without def debuff, and have either smash or lethal damage elements, I can solo at +4/8 with bosses. Take your heal and regen, plus resists/defense, knockdowns, and your power sink and Lightning Field end drain, its a force to behold.
Even without sets, the fact you can run so many toggles without endurance issues, lends you to being able to survive well. I highly recommend getting the four HP and +End accolades.
And I'm only talking about survival here, don't forget you're an AoE God as well. -
You might have to change the focus on a dm/wp, not sure you could do smash/lethal softcap without gimping your attack chain.
I know what you mean about the satisfaction of melee defeats, but I still like to drop GMs with my Ill/Rad on occation. -
Quote:Considering how many attacks I needed to slot Kinetic Combat in to softcap, most primaries probably couldn't follow that build. Fire is one of the few with with enough dps on a very low recharge non-hasten build to even drop an AV.Well done two at once on my Claws/Inv and a fair few one on one with my DM/Sr but I know my Fire/WP would die from a nasty look from one AV let alone a pounding from 4. Good work there. Maybe when my Fire/Shield is fully slotted I will look at making one of my WP builds solid. Trouble is will power starts of "good enough" for most things that I don't tend to invest in builds on them. But you've shown me that you can do a hell of a lot with WP and maybe they're worth another look
Obviously other primaries can use /wp in awesome ways like Kat claws and BS, but I wanted far less active survival.
I guess I forget sometimes that just 1 AV truly is an accomplishment. -
Quote:Burn has always been different than all the other powers in the set anyway it has the secondary of fear and immobilization protection. I see what you're saying, but come on lets go nutsI don't see them adding knockdown, though, Dr. Evil. In a FIRE power? Fire's secondary effect is FIRE (more damage).
