They'd also have to add exits. Those doors don't work.

Or did you mean you want a big animation/power that says, "X player just won this for everyone! We're so glad to have X person in the League!"

Maybe if there was some sort of message/pop-up after the Trial was done saying, "X person healed this much/rez'ed y many people, A person killed this many mobs/etc..." people wouldn't be so hard on this? *shrugs*
That's okay if it's client side only, or I can turn it off. I don't need my ego stroked by being a unique dragon. All I need to know is that my TEAM survived and the the LEAGUE prevailed.

These Trials are not about ME and they are not about YOU**, they are about a group of people coming together, and when we realize that they way we are used to doing things don't work, we try something different. we might not even prevail on the first attempt, but in working together we can. I'll go ahead and quote one of my fovourite moves now.

"Do you know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed." Zoë

If an individual on a team wants to be a glory hound, make sure your team doesn't suffer for it.

Yes, these Trials are difficult, sometimes frustratingly so, but they are not impossible. Personally, I've never been one to just play my high level characters, nor have I been all that attached to the end-game content (or the lack thereof before now.) I am actually enjoying the strategy and tactics that have to be used in these Trials. Something that has even made the speed run teams take a step back and give a moments pause.

** General "YOU" not you personally, Energizing_Ion.
  3. Did a successful Lambda with Santa last night. Took a while to get up and running, and was a challenge, but we succeeded. With seconds to spare even.

By the time it's too late there is about 100 baddies hanging out with Marauder who are unstoppable.

BAF is doable with a PUG (although please check into the rez bug I witnessed tonight where Nightstar was rezzed by a dead Siege), but Lambda is not doable with a PUG with any amount of people if people who get temps don't pay attention or just cannot be taught. Give out more of the Acid Temps at least so if there are people being shoddy there's a greater likely hood of someone else having the temp and being able to pick up the slack. If there are 10 portals, have 15-20 temps available during the in house cleaning. Just sayin'

Overall, excellent work on end game content though, this stuff could last forever.
A crate and a chamber will spawn in the outside courtyard, which you can take down and gain another Pacification Grenade or Acid Mortar respectively. If a team doesn't gather all of them inside, then attack these as they spawn, they will continue to do so.

    There it is.

Well, "Lag" and "Performace" are probably two different things, so I'm more than likely wrong. :P
Ah, I would not have recalled that as it was before my time and for me, the drums have always had sound. Or I could be confusing it with the Tiki Lounge. :þ

Posi has a good blog about the difference between Lag and Frame Rate, Frame Rate being the likely performance issue in this instance.

Sorry, forgot to turn on my psychic ability to read your post.

As people were used to ToT'ing in zones well below their level, I have still come across players in-game that comment in globals that they cannot click on doors. Sure enough, their in Kings, or Steel, or Talos... (or Cap Au) on their 50.

Unless Cap Au is now a 8-50 zone and not an 8-20 zone...
  7. Welcome to the forums, Thany.

My suggestion is to try all of the servers. I primarily play on Protector and Justice, but being really similar communities with Justice being more populated.

Definitely hook up with the Global channels commonly used on either. Protector Vigilance and Jello Shooters on Prot, and JLA and Heretics on Justice. Global channels are not server specific, so you can chat in the regardless of what server you are currently on. There are also forums for each of the servers, head down there and introduce yourself.

If your forum join date is close to you CoH start date, then I'd recommend heading up to the top of the Player Questions forum and poking your head into the Mentor Project and joining the "N P C" global channel. /chan_join "N P C" (spaces and quotes are required.)

ToT'ing is up as well. Just have to remember that the doors you knock on have to be in a level appropriate area.

    Um, no it doesn't.

To put it simply if you have 10 people standing in one place doing jumping jacks they wouldn't generate more lag than if they weren't emoting but 10 people standing in the same place with boomboxes out could potentially cause them and anyone near them to crash especially if they're all playing a different song as apposed to all playing the same song.
    And, no.

Music is client side, just like any other noise in the game. And I can pretty much guaranty that the boombox, with it's eleven sides to it, does not create more lag than a costumed character. Heck one wearing nothing but speedos is more for the computer to draw than the boombox.
  10. That's stellar, FireBrandi!

    Gratz on the new art.

Actually, Praetoria is not in Rhode Island as one of Calvin Scott's arcs mentions strangers from the east.

As far as I know, Praetoria City isn't helping anyone but Praetoria City.

As far as I know, Praetorian Earth is pretty much overrun by Hamidon, with pockets of civilization left.

I noticed Aaron Walker's dialog back during Beta and built a character concept around her being from Tokyo, and that through his own hacking, Aaron was able to pass the Sonic Barrier tech to Tokyo.

  19. Unless you've re-bound the print screen button, that's a copy/paste key. So you'd have to paste it into a image editing app.

  21. Do you have an NCsoft folder in the Start menu? I think the new Launcher puts a standard and a Safe Mode launch shortcut in there.

If you do not see it there, I found it under Properties for each version. So on Live rt-lick on City of heroes, select Properties, and at the bottom left of that window you'll see the 'Run in Safe Mode' check box.

I always used to run CoX in full screen, but I've recently moved to windowed and like it much better.

When I had an issue taking screenies of the CC (before I was told about the Snipping Tool) my workaround was as follows...

    1. Enter the Costume Editor.
    2. Bring up your preferred image editing program, so that it has focus.
    3. Drag Paint/CS/etc until just a portion of it is visible on-screen, say the title bar down at the bottom of your screen.
    4. Hit Print Screen.
    5. Paste into your editing program.

Not very elegant, but it works.
  23. As for clicking a button or slider, no, there is no way to affect just one sound.

You'll want to head down to Player Guides to the "How to silence specific game sounds", it will explain how to silence/alter specific sounds as long as the sound file(s) are known.

Do a search for Shout once you're there and it will give you several posts in the thread on the file names for powers.
