  1. No, both sets of events have impact on the characters. We just don't tend to have one story ingame and the same story on the forums, as you seem to.
  2. ....didn't we already have a thread for this?

For what it's worth though, US RPers don't tend to have forum RP impact directly on ingame events. Nor do we have ingame events impact on forum RP. The two are typically held somewhat seperate - different stories using the same characters. Mostly because not all of us play on virtue. Hell, personally I have at least three characters in forum RPs that don't exist at all ingame.

So yeah, if you want to join us then go for it. We don't bite, really.
  3. Also, consider the people who are still playing the game on computers that can barely run it. Adding a second aura to every other character would cause at least some inflation of the system requirements, which they try to keep as low as possible precisely because of the aforementioned players.
  4. EMP Arrow does a hefty amount of -regen. (-1000% according to mids) Also, Trick Arrow has damaging powers, which Radiation doesn't get outside of having to have teammates die or be fighting robots. And yes I know the oil slick has its fair share of problems but it still contributes to overall balance. It also has three control powers (Entangling Arrow, Ice Arrow and Oil Slick Arrow), which again Radiation doesn't get (Also has EMP Arrow but Rad has its own version of that). TA's debuffs to damage, defense and resistance are also superior to Radiation's outside of Fallout which again requires someone to die.

Personally, I think it'd be fine if they just fixed the bugs with the oil slick. Easier said than done, I know. But yeah, if you want to heal or rez people you can always take the medicine pool. Or take a different set.

Also, -regen is overrated to begin with. Only really useful against GMs and to a lesser extent AVs, cause everything else will die too quickly to regen any significant amount.
  5. Not for scrappers, IMO. APPs are supposed to fill in holes in the AT, not give more of what you already have. For scrappers, that's range and to a lesser extent control. Not more defenses and melee attacks.

So anyone think it will be my suggestion of either healing flames or Rise of the Phoenix?
    I do.
  7. Amusingly, VEATs can already get a sixth slot. Since they get the one at level 10 already, if you then get one via halloween salvage you'll have 6. But you won't ever be able to change it, as the tailor UI doesn't have an option for a sixth slot. But you can change to it with /cc 5, I believe.

As for the idea? Love it. More slots for all. And a reason to actually go to Galaxy City too, even.

This is of course built to my personal preferences, things like the 2 accuracy in attacks or the endredux in toggles aren't hard and fast rules. But I hate missing and I hate running out of endurance, so I slot like that. Likewise with the travel power in early - I just like having it. With the availability of jetpacks villainside you could push that back easily enough.
  9. Note that scrappers getting a new epic pool only brings them up to the same number everyone else has always had. They only had three before while every other non-Kheldian AT has 4.

But yeah, more options for all. Personally I'm still a fan of the 'give villains normal epic pools plus make patrons for heroes' idea.

“Hu... hurrrrrrghhhhhhhhhh!” he breathes wildly and prepares to leap.
Only to be struck down near simultaneously by Ceus's soul storm, Brian's gunshots and finally Pax's own energy blast. Despite being a supposed 'do-gooder' the peacebringer didn't seem to have any problem putting down the zombie. Zombies in her experience tended to be dead already or so far gone as to be indistinguishable from death. Thus, she was perfectly fine with blasting them.

And good thing that was too, as by the sound of those roars they were about to be neck deep in zombies. She looked over at her little floating light ball, considering. Then nodded to herself, as if deciding something. Again her aura flared up, producing two more of the glowing balls. Then with a gesture of one hand the three of them sped off towards the approaching horde, three little bombs going somewhere to explode. Though, she did make sure they'd only target zombies. Anything at all that wasn't an undead, they'd simply ignore.
  11. Likewise, Pax had flown beside the humvee rather than sit inside it. Landing gently as they stopped, she coughed and spit to one side as if trying to get a bad taste out of her mouth - which was exactly what she was doing. Straightening up, she looked around and frowned at the scenery. "...reminds us of Spain...", she muttered quietly to herself, in a tone that suggested she really wished it didn't. Though, how this place would remind her of Spain was anyone's guess. Because Spain as the rest of the group knew it didn't look anything like this.

Seeing Cues generate a light, she decided that wasn't a bad idea and set about making one of her own too. Her ever-present glowing aura intensified for a second, before a part of it split off and floated there on its own becoming what most would recognise as a Photon Seeker. This one however wouldn't explode as such things normally did, and nor would it expire. It was simply a light source, not a bomb.

Spotting the destroyed tanker and more importantly the man sitting beside it she again rose into the air and flew off in that direction, a shimmering field of energy forming around her as she went. A shield, just in case. Landing softly beside the man (but not too softly, loud enough that he'd know she was there) she went over to him and asked, "What happened here, sir?"

"This is a modified GPS system, it'll start tracking from the moment you enter the dome, it works on magnetic fields, so it should still be accurate even if you end up outside of satellite range. Its loaded with a map of the town, and it will search for the soldiers signals..."
"Mmhm", Pax mumbled as she turned the device over in her hands, inspecting it. For what, who knew. Apparently satisfied after a moment, she pocketed it. "Very well then", she announced, turning to the others. "If we're all ready?"

    Sonic Repulsion

Note that the equivalent power in Forcefield (Which is Repulsion Field, not Repulsion Bomb) is still knockback as well.

Not that I wouldn't like to see both changed, but just pointing it out.

Ghost pirates get a power with this animation. I want it so bad
Maybe they'll put it in Dark Blast as a tier 3 blast when it gets proliferated to blasters, instead of Dark Pit or something.
  15. Pax remained quiet throughout the general's briefing, muttering something about typical army men under her breath. She gave the offered hazmat suits a look of distaste, not caring to take one. After all, she had her Dwarf form for that sort of stuff.

    Quote:
"sorry oh five hundred hours, we picked up their signal some distance inside, but couldn't contact them before the drone went down."
"Where exactly was this signal, if you managed to locate its source?", Pax asked. "If we can find that team, they should have a better idea of what this dome is since they've been in there longer." She looked curiously at the smoke from Cues's bowl for a moment, before shrugging and taking a breath of it. "And we can provide our own transport, so save your vehicles for those who need them", she added, turning back to the scientist and lifting slightly off the ground as if to demonstrate.

    What do you mean, incomplete?
Ok, so I stand corrected. Still, the fact remains that he's too ******* big to fight properly.
  17. Quote:
He looked back at the big dome, wondering. He glanced around at the other heroes, wondering what he'd be working with.
Pax looked straight back at him, evaluating him in much the same way he was her. Her gaze then shifted past him, to the cases in the back of his vehicle. "Sure you brought enough ammo, there?", she asked.

    Quote:
"It seems to be a conglomeration of several energies, including magic and science. Such occurances are rare."
"You would think so, wouldn't you?", Pax asked, in that infuriating sort of tone that all time travellers seem to develop when they know something you don't and aren't going to tell you. Of course, the wording of the question kind of gave it away in this case.

maybe a GM spawn, Rularuu the Ravager.
There's actually an incomplete Rularuu model ingame already, I believe. It's just not used. But the issue with it is it's huge. As in, 'can't target cause he's out of range, while I'm standing at his feet' sort of huge. Though.... Maybe that's what they were messing with that giant mekman people saw on test for.

Also the trial only ever used the same AVs from the taskforces, fyi. (Lanaruu and Ruladak) Rularuu himself was never in it.

As Paxtera heads back to the camp, a different agent to before offers her a thick bundle of papers.
Pax took the papers without even looking at the agent who gave them, continuing back towards the base camp and the gathering area. Idly flipping through them as she walked past the soldiers standing guard around the camp, she mused quietly to herself about the idea of going inside. Apparently possible, though who knew what was in there, Or what it'd do to her on the way in.

She looked up as she came over to where the others were standing, offering a respectful nod to both Ceus and Darquios. Apparently, Ceus being a villain mattered not to her.

And for that reason, I support noting that forum RP threads come in one of three flavours:

    1. NA-Centred - These threads are about events that take place on the American servers, people can take part, but should bear in mind that EU members won't appear for ingame events.

    2. EU-Centred - These threads are about events that take place on the European servers (usually Union), people can take part, but should bear in mind that NA members won't appear for ingame events.

    3. Free-for-all - These threads are about events that take place in the Forums universe, and everyone can take part without having to worry about events happening on a server.
This seems fine to me. The only thing I'd have any kind of objection to is if people started telling me I'm not allowed to participate in a given thread cause I'm a NA player and its an EU thread. Cause if it gets to that, why bother having merged forums in the first place?

Up close the dome crackled and buzzed with static, it glowed faintly tainting the grass around it with red, the more sensitive might notice a stirring in the air, or the way grass stems bent towards the dome, as if they were being gently sucked in.
"Hmm, odd...", the peacebringer said quietly to herself in her strange echoing voice, standing there looking at the wall of energy in front of her. "Minor gravitational fluctuations, light emission.... Why do we get the feeling we're gonna end up fighting demons again?" Apparently satisfied, she turned around and went back towards the camp she'd first arrived at. But she stopped, noticing something on the ground. Picking up the small stone that'd drawn her attention, she hurled it at the energy barrier. Firstly to find out if it was solid, and secondly to find out what it did to things attempting to enter.
  22. Quote:
“I do hope you're not just intending to barge right in!” she admonishes.
Paxtera all but ignored her, only taking enough note of her presence to walk around her. She continued towards the dome, still muttering rapidly to herself in a language that didn't sound like anything spoken on Earth.
  23. Quote:
“Hello Paxtera, you don't mind me calling you by your registered name do you? Anyway to answer your question its two thousand and nine, early August... you'll have to forgive the soldiers, there reaction is somewhat necessary because.... well because of that...”
"Not at all, given that it's our real name as well. Pax for short, if you want. Really, as long as it's obvious you're talking to us and it's not offensive we don't really care what you call us." At the mention of forgiving the soldiers, she gave a dismissive wave with one hand. "Our own fault,", she admitted. "For appearing inside your camp. Besides, at least they had the decency to ask questions before shooting at us, hmm? So many don't, you know."

She then turned to look at the energy dome the agent indicated, developing a curious expression and tilting her head to one side. "...Huh", she said eventually. "That's not supposed to be there." How she knew that was anyone's guess. "2009, early August.... Founders Grove...? No, that's definitely not supposed to be there. So how'd it get there...?" She wandered off in the general direction of the dome, muttering to herself. Presumably, she intended to examine the thing up close.
  24. Quote:
A moments radio communication and a F.B.S.A agent headed over, snapping a picture of Paxtera and running through the bureaus registry of licensed heroes....
The results wouldn't take that long to come back, the FBSA used to such requests. The file they sent back stated she was formerly a registered metahuman, a Peacebringer class hero. The reference photo attached to the file showed her without the aura, but otherwise identical. According to their history, her hero license was suspended after she disappeared with no trace almost a year ago. Several unconfirmed sightings of her since then were mentioned, but whoever wrote the file took care to mention they were only unconfirmed sightings and she obviously hadn't been back to renew her license.

    -------------

Meanwhile, Paxtera gave the soldier yelling orders at her a disapproving look. "Really, that's entirely unnecessary", she commented, but did as he requested none the less. "Now, would you care to answer our question?"
  25. Quote:
Soldiers guarded the area, watching the skies and ground for arriving meta humans, directing them to a central area where an officer was preparing to give a briefing, flanked by several scientists and a man dressed much like a stage magician.
Just inside their perimeter, a rather strange thing happened. A sphere of clear space about three meters off the ground and with a diameter roughly the height of an average human seemed to turn in on itself, the air emitting an odd golden glow as reality itself was turned inside out. This continued building up for several long moments, before finally culminating in a loud crack as everything snapped back into place and what appeared to be at the very least a humanoid lifeform was deposited most unceremoniously onto the ground below.

An irritated voice spoke up. While what it said was unintellegible, it would at least confirm the thing was both human and female. This fact was further confirmed as she sat up, looking around. Indeed, aside from an odd pale blue aura that hung in the air around her she did appear every bit an average human. Even her clothes were fairly normal, consisting of a loose blue t-shirt and black pants held up by a white leather belt. Beneath the flared bottoms of her pants were visible a pair of white sneakers. The pair of silvery bands around her wrists could be perhaps considered unaverage, but many people did wear such things.

She got up, unaware or uncaring that given her method of arrival there were likely a number of weapons trained on her. Absently brushing some dirt from her fall off one shoulder, she walked casually over to the nearest soldier and looked him over, appearing to think for a moment before speaking. "Hiya. Where are we and what year is it?", she asked, though the voice in which she did so was strange. It had an odd sort of echo, as though there were two of her speaking at once and they weren't quite synced up properly. Her accent was strange too, being completely unplacable.

(( In at the ground level, for once.
Here, have a screenshot if my description sucks.

    Additional information:
    Name - Paxtera
    Species - Peacebringer (Human/Kheldian)
Aside from the obvious powers inherent to being a peacebringer, she's also in the past displayed an ability to travel through both time and space under her own power, as well as stop time briefly in a localised area. She's not carrying anything beyond that and her normal powers. ))
