Pretty sure they can't. Why would they need to?

Quote:Pretty much exactly thisI have to agree with Stone Daemon, too automated.
Secondly, personally the only times I have been "surprised" by my characters face planting have been when when I just snap back after a quickie map serve or bad rubberband jam session. However, not as surprised as when I am actually still standing after one of those.I can't ever remember not knowing why I died, other than in a lag situation.

Quote:This is a great solution! Thanks! It is more of a value issue than a financial issue, I just don't see myself using the specific benefits I get as a VIP for these characters I am leveling (and all my characters are on Champion). Now if your reason for letting your account lapse for a couple months is NOT because money is tight. Then use the $15/mo you normally reserve for the sub and just buy points with it. You'll have at least 2400 pts to buy the other "free for VIP" content like the mentioned zones and ssa.
Side benefit...if they happen to have a sale on one of those content while you're premium, well you'll have points and the ability to unlock them permanently at the discount price. -
Quote:Yeah, I am pretty high up there, so all that stuff is unlocked (and I am looking to play as my Scrapper and Dominator, so not an issue anyway) and I think I have like ten slots unlocked or something like that.Access to your alts might be somewhat limited, depending upon your tier and on how many character slots you might have purchased. IIRC, it's 2 slots plus any you "earned" or purchased.
Also, MMs, controllers & HEATs/VEATs are restricted unless you are high enough in the reward tiers (I think you probably are, but check to make sure). -
I noticed that for the most part, the only real VIP benefit I use is Incarnate. Was thinking about leveling up some of my alts, and taking a break from my main for a month or two. Would I be missing out on anything as a Freemium player? Signature story arcs don't appeal to me (I seem to suck at soloing them, and that is primarily how I like to play).
-
I should also say that in my four years of playing CoH, including 4 months of doing a lot of Incarnate Trials (often clumsily), I have encountered very few players who were jerks if my actions led to a mission fail. I can get distracted and confused (and sometimes my system lags). In 99% of situations, the worst I have gotten was some good natured teasing about it.
In fact, a few weeks ago, I did an Underground that went sour in last enemy (just couldn't seem to coordinate right to damage AV), and even though we were all frustrated, there wasn't any blame thrown around or nastiness. I didn't need to block anyone sending me nasty tells or log off to avoid ranting. And this was after a 45 minute mission. We all went about our business, and I would be glad to team with any of those players again.
To me, that is how CoH is most of the time, and why it is the only MMO I can play with any regularity. -
So....the arguement here is that not being able to complete Incarnate Trials locks you out of doing more Incarnate stuff (which isn't at all accurate, except for Hybrid at the moment, which is not required for any content). I don't see the problem. The people who don't enjoy this content don't have to do it. The only thing they are missing out on is being able to do more content that they don't enjoy.
There are plenty of people who do enjoy incarnate trials and the challenges that go into them (myself included). I will never get the concept of complaining about one facet of a multi-facet game like City of Heroes that might not appeal to a particular player.
I don't like repetitive Taskforces (Citadel and Synapse come to mind), so most of the time, I won't do them. And when I do decide to do them, I know what I am getting in to, and if it starts to annoy me, I have no one to blame but myself. That doesn't mean I will complain that those things exist, their existence does not affect my life or enjoyment of the game at all. -

Just curious if there are a list of Ouro missions and arcs that award badges for both heroes and villains. I just noticed that I missed two accomplishments that weren't listed with the others in my checklist:
Helping Hand
Keeper of Coral Lore -
Thanks everyone. Tinkered around with my resolution settings some more and finally got it to a point that was tolerable (still a little too big, but at least I can see most of the stuff on the windows).

Quote:Yeah, I can't even see what's on the screens, so it's kind of absurd. Thanks! If you can't resize them the same as any other window then you can't resize them, sadly.
They did not expect anybody to have those windows open for long in any situation where they would need to see what is behind them.
That is why you can only open or close them, not resize.
developer foresight is lacking in this regard, as well as plenty of other ways, and they don't like to change things when they have hindsight unless they cause serious stability issues with the game for lots of people. -

For some reason, they come out way too big on my screen, and I can't access most of the stuff on these screens. Is there a way to edit this?

Quote:Back in the day, if you ran in Supergroup mode, you used to get no infamy at the higher levels. But that was changed some over time, so the lowest penalty you get is 50%I know you have the ability to turn on and off supergroup mode. While in supergroup mode, your supergroup gets prestige. But what is the downside? Is there a reason to ever turn supergroup mode back off?
Before, I thought it would be to get the symbol and colors off, but you can fix that in your settings anyway. So outside changing your costume, what's the downside to SG mode?

Yeah, that has never been my experience in City of. When I have needed help with a badge, I can usually find someone on my servers's badge channel willing to help. Hell, yesterday, there was a guy in Champion for a good hour just holding open an Atlas Park safeguard just to let as many people possible get the explore badge.
-
Oh, I know why I didn't get the badge, but I really think that my constant debuffs of Eochoi is why Jack was able to do the damage in the first place
I'm often a support character, and in this case, I just supported Jack! That totally should count
I am mostly being facetious. The badge would have been nice, but the satisfaction of "sort of" soloing a GM was well worth it -
Was doing some street sweeping in Croatoa working on badges (I'm a 4 year vet, but typically only play red side), and noticed Jack of Irons fighting Eochoi. Purely to see if I could, I started debuffing Eochoi and using my Incarnate abilities to help Jack of Irons, adding in my sonics as best I can (though they really didn't do much). It took a while, but in the end Eochoi fell, but I got no badge for my creativity.
Amusingly, I did get the Reward Merits though.
Even more amusing, once Eochoi was down, Jack of Irons one shot killed me. Guess he didn't appreciate my help
Thankfully, later I found a team to take both down and get the badges, but I totally think I deserved it from my first "solo" (with lots of help from JoI) victory -
Like a week ago, I was complaining how hard it was to find trial teams. Last few nights, every time I log on there has been one or two leagues running at the same time. It's been great. Finally unlocked all my incarnate slots, and well along the way to having high end abilities in each slot. Thanks Champion server, as always, you guys rock!

Quote:I love this solution!!Just because an argument is weak to you doesn't make it a weak argument.
There were many things in this game that we were told would never happen due to time and tech restraints and slowly but surely they have made their way into the game. Power Customization anyone?
And for what it's worth, I can even see a story element to Cross-Server teaming.
A faction of Oroboros realizes that not just the time-stream is being altered in our reality, but other realities as well and has called upon all able heroes and villains to assist in fixing things.
You enter a zone similar to Oro (a loading zone basically) and are able to enter other realities (servers) through portals in that zone. After entering, you're put into a similar zone on the other server from which you can roam free and do whatever.
Hell, you can even use the argument that the Batallion is so strong that you need the might of multiple realities to combat the threat.
On a more selfish note, this would make Hami raiding quite fun for me since they raid on various servers and I could basically attend them all with the same toons

Thanks! Great timing as I am off work next week

Not an AT issue, but I find that flight and stealth pools make explores and history easier to grab.

Stuck at work, but main page says something about a Nemesis invasion to celebrate 8th Anniversary and to log in for more info.

Quote:This is what I did to, I was just curious if anyone had a better solution. Thanks! To my knowledge there aren't any user mods that actually alter the way the UI is set up... you can try to adjust the size of the UI Elements in settings. Perhaps making them smaller will help?
I guess I am not much service here since I just put the pop-up in the upper right under my HP and buff bars. -
I can't seem to find a good place to put my trial window to be able to keep everything I need on the screen in focus. Chat windows, three power bars, target window, etc. Any suggestions?
I'm not a huge fan of user mods, but if that is my only option I will go for it.
