Badge Hunting AT?
Based on my experience I think just about any AT can be used as a badging character well enough.
About the only badges where it makes a significant difference are ones like the epic damage and heal badges. Obviously if you pick an AT that has good heal powers you'll be able to work on those badges easier. Likewise if you pick an AT with lots of HPs it'll be easier to work on the damage taken badges without dying too much.
It's probably easier to solo the defeat badges with non-squishy ATs like Scrapper and Brutes, but once a character gets higher in level then pretty much any AT can farm critters for those.
Ultimately I'd choose a character you like to play and then start earning badges on it. You really don't have to restrict yourself because there's really no one "perfect badging AT". If you look across the third party badge collecting sites you'll see that pretty much every AT is fairly well represented.
Have fun.

Not an AT issue, but I find that flight and stealth pools make explores and history easier to grab.
Stone/Stone Brute....
......that is all
my main is a mm and its great especially for heal badges and defeat badges (for defeat badges i just turn my pets on aggressive and wander around grey areas until i get the badge for the defeat i need lol)
the only hard badge to get i would say is the dmg badges because they dont have a lot of hp to begin with, took me like 8 months of afk farming with 1-2 rikti monkeys in monster island (better than PI as it is usually empty)
I badge with a Stone/Stone Brute. It's decent for everything but the healing badges.

..and I have all the badges you can get that aren't the "special" ones (read: bughunter, passport, etc...) ...including Empath..and I got that BEFORE the nerf
I work nights and tend to be online from midnight to 7am and often find myself forced to pick between DFB and solo... obviously DFB gets old LOL.
I'd like to make a completionist character. Something to go do all the arcs and get all the available badges playing largely solo, and I would very much like to fight AV's and Elite Bosses from as early as possible. My first thought was a MM, but I worry about pet survival against AV's and GM's, especially without an endgame build.
Now I'm adding scrapper to the mix. I like weapons and still don't have a weapon/shield or staff character. I'm pretty sure I want to do mace/shield and there's not a mace in the game so far that really hits me right (lol), so staff/X is probably where I'd go. In order to cheese some missions, I might want invisibility without giving up a pool... that gives me Energy and Dark armors, of which I really prefer Energy.
Just looking for general brainstorming from veteran badge seekers.
