  1. Some folks are trashing the official vids here.

Really, what's wrong with the movies NCSoft has produced? Especially the latest ones? You don't need to trash the official content just because you like Samuraiko's. Some of you seem to think one has to be awesome and the other sucks, rather than both being genuinely good.
  2. I got mobbed by about 10 council on my defender when picking up a mission that triggers an ambush, who was solo, with team size set to 0 and mob level set to -1.
  3. Didn't he post that it took a year or two of constant on-the-side work?
  4. They're only considered NPCs from the Client or User Interface perspective. In every aspect except for the direct control of slash commands and buttons to push, they function exactly like MM pets do. The bodyguard effect still happens, they still are under the effect of any AoE buffs you've got toggled, etc.

Just pretend the bug isn't happening, unless you absolutely need that control for an RP reason or some other reason. If you play normally, as soon as you apply any targeted buffs or they get attacked your UI will figure out that they're your pets.

Even if you don't have buffs to snap them back in, if you've got an upgrade power you can use that instead.

Offense-only sets are kinda screwed, but maybe passing them an inspiration will work.
It might. The fastest fix for this inconvenient bug is just pretending it doesn't exist. As far as the server is concerned, those are all still your pets. It's a UI or Client issue more than anything else. Their kills still work, the bodyguard effect still happens, so does your inherent, they still defend you if they were in defensive stance and they'll still attack if they were in aggressive. If you upgrade one, then all the other nearby pets still upgrade even if they don't show up in your pet window.

Just go into a mission and get into a fight, and the moment any of them get attacked your UI will sort itself out.

If it REALLY bugs you and you don't have buffs to cast, you can still use your upgrade on each individual one to knock them back into your pet screen. That's time consuming an unnecessary, though.

They're not amphibians, they're simply amphibious. They're part coral, part mammal.
  7. Don't worry Dark Respite, I've only been looking for decent paying employment since I was laid off last October!

Sub numbers have been gone from quarterly reports since Q4 2008. That said, there's no doubt that we've seen some decreases since Issue 14's excitement. You can speculate that it is because of all kinds of reasons.

CO was released. DDO has gone free to play. School has started up again. Summer is pretty much over at this point. Aion is releasing soon, too, and is highly anticipated. Maybe the AE situation has been having an increasing detrimental impact on populations. Issue 16 might have a positive impact, it might not. Now that the situation with AE has been "fixed" we may see recovery, if that actually had an impact on player levels at all. All the other causes, though, aren't really fixable.
  9. Okay, we've covered WHEN and WHERE.

    Now HOW.
  10. I DIDN'T ASK WHEN! I ASKED WHERE.

    Negative rep given.

Good Lord, man. Look at the size of your sig. Unless you want them taking away image posting or implement draconian size rules, fix that sucker.
  13. Every convention causes a wave of illness in its attendees, that's just a reality you need to accept at conventions. ESPECIALLY if you happen to be a guest of some kind, because that usually means you're going to be dealing with fans or sitting at a booth all day shaking hands with people.

It's even referred to as "con plague."

    Barf

"/e Barf" never really made it in the game at all. It appeared in some patch notes but minds were evidently changed before it hit live. This was a long time ago, too.

Barfing hasn't ever been removed from the game completely, though. Mr. Barfy and friends still show up next to the barf puddles in Pocket D every once in a while and there's always that one debuff.

Edit: Unless you're talking about some AE option.

Those are very obviously different entities than a store. They're essentially mission contacts, even the ones that don't give you missions.
  16. It's hard to guess just how it'll go. You COULD keep all the PI content completely untouched, because it's late in the "timeline." GR content would just have to reflect that. Maybe you'll end up responsible getting Statesman captured by them.

However, the pre 40s level range is problematic. In that "timeframe" we don't know about the Praetorians yet and they, arguable, don't know about Primal Earth. Side switching will either have to come late in pre-GR characters (who started on either CoV or CoH zones instead of GR zones) and characters on Praetoria can't cross over to CoV or CoH territory until late-game, or they might just decide to throw continuity to the wind.
  17. Troy Hickman

What came first? The Seed that begat the Hickman, or Hickman that begat the Seed? This represents a truer, deeper paradox of the universe than any mere chicken and egg. Some might argue that this Soul Plaguer is as eternal as any diety, but that is simply an easy answer to the question.

Even when Science has understood Everything, Hickman will remain the unquantifiable. Unprovable yet undeniable. Born from himself, yet father of none, the Hickman roams the planes leaving little untouched or unaltered in his wake. His goals are known only to him, if any goals he has.
