    Sketch #50: Columbia vs. Nitoichi

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wasn't sure about this in thumbnail, but full size it's awesome. Really captured the feel of that fight, actually.

For those who don't know them, they're both heroes, but this was a bit of a grudge match. No powers, just fists. Nitoichi won, by a knockout, using every dirty trick I could come up with for her. Can't wait for those two to meet again.

Well done, Dan. Knew you could do it, and with a pretty quality piece of work as well. I love the look on Columbia's face.
  2. Glad you elaborated, 'cos it wouldn't have made any sense otherwise.

Sounds wrong though. Doesn't seem likely it's because of the exemplar change. Could be, just doesn't seem likely.

Let us use the same enhancements twice please -.- i dont want to spend 1.3 billion inf on a build then switch to second build to find an SO'd piece of cack tht i need to spend another billion or so on to make it not seem depressing after using build 1!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Out of interest, how? Presumably the second build won't look like the first, or you wouldn't have bothered.
  4. With the tier 9 power Devastating Belch.
  5. Interesting.

I've found that the best way to handle those bar pics is to manually resize the source image to exactly 240 pixels wide. The bar will fix it that wide (normally).

There's something a bit wacky going on there anyway, since the image you get when you click through isn't the one being displayed. The white border is there because it's in the original image. You need to crop it, then resize it to 240px wide.
  6. Found this while browsing: http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,1278.0.html

Someone's created a desktop widget that displays server statuses.
  7. Well, widening the term 'genre' a bit, they have already done a CCG and the, sadly ill-fated, RPG. I still think the RPG had legs, and would've been a good way to expand the background.

How about Sim Paragon City? It's be like Sim City, but with the added interest of superpowered battle demolishing buildings every so often.
  8. Da. Happy getting older, big fella.

  9. Yes, today will dawn clear and bright, low winds, with a high of 7C. By evening a few scattered clouds will have blown in and the wind will have dropped further. Expect a low of -2C. Perfect weather for vigorous exercise, such as villain bettering.

    Tomorrow: showers in the afternoon.
  10. Last I remember of Stasis, fat she was not.

Not sure this is the right place for this, but I figure this might be as good a place as any since it would be useful to thos writing fiction.

Partly to keep my self in-practice at coding C#, and partly because I thought it might be useful, I've started working on a program which is basically a Rich Text Format editor which can export UBB code for dropping into posts. It will, eventually, also do Wiki-format exports, and possibly some others if the need arises.

Currently, it can load an RTF file (produceable with Wordpad, Word, OpenOffice, and various other editors), allow some editing, and export to a UBB text file. I haven't actually implemented the RTF save function yet, though that's pretty simple and next on the list. It handles bold and italic text, and marks paragraphs by outputting two line breaks.

Does anyone have any bright ideas for useful things to add to this?
Would anyone like to try it out and do my debugging for me? If so, I'll see if I can put a distribution package together and find somewhere to host it.

Oh yes, it's called FWEd, Forum/Wiki Editor.

The problem is that the function covers global details, not individual characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Found that out the hard way, which is why I annotate notes with the character name. Thanks though, that could come in very useful.
  13. It's rather a shame you can't Add Note to your own character, really. But yes, a message saying whether you're on Build 1 or Build 2 (or a nice name) would be a good idea. Maybe there is one, I haven't checked.
  14. The kind of depressing thing here is that I can see Hairy's point (Ooo err, maitron) and there being just the two builds if you can't remember what they're for that's pretty week. Despite this, it's logically easier to actually allow the naming of, whereas some nice name for costume slots would likely be harder, but far more useful.
  15. Technically...

Jason or Crow could enhance or modify someone's power(s) given sufficient reason. They're both magicians, they can both do rituals which can, theoretically, have any effect which is required, including power boosts, though probably temporary ones unless the person concerned is willing sacrifice something else to gain the power.

I'm wrong anyway. I just rechecked. No one has any right to have the bank holidays as statutory days off. As of Oct 1st 2007, you have an entitlement of 24 days holiday per year (assuming a 5 day working week). Most companies don't include all bank holidays as part of that time, but they are under no obligation to. As of April next year, you'll be entitled to 28 days, and since your nice employer doesn't include bank holidays, he has no buffer and has to give you the extra days. More fool him.
  17. Oh, I was with the Cynical Teachers, but the dental plan sucks.
  18. I feel that "Do stop carping on about it." should come next.

Aha! The classic "yes, we know we never gave you time to take holiday before now, but you have to take it all by the end of the year" management strategy?

    I know it well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At least they dont have to class christmas day and new years day as "holiday time" though (grumbles )

    [/ QUOTE ]

What do you do? Pretty sure that Christmas Day is one of the few days in the year that's actually a fully statutory holiday. Easter Sunday is the other one, but most people don't get to worry about it. (It's been a few months before I looked those regulations up mind.)

ok so we know it aint coming out this week and that it will be out next week but which day?!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, we don't. And anyone who bets on any other day but Tuesday is likely to lose.

Do you read what people post, or just make stuff up as you go along?

I want to join the Idealistic Teacher faction, personally. Sounds way cool.

I would like to see a button added to the wentworth interface that will empty the remainder of my salvage and recipes and list them all for 10 inf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why are you selling stuff at the AHs for 10 Inf? Nothing I have ever gets listed that low. If it won't go for the price I can get from a vendor (and that means 300 Inf or more for Invention Salvage) it doesn't get listed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Read the OP. Its nothing to do with cash, its speed of emptying the inventory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well then, a sell remaining salvage to vendor button would be a considerably better option, wouldn't it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do this so my salvage *does* sell, and it counts towards AH badges. For 1 inf, as a matter of fact

    [/ QUOTE ]

    There's two things there:

Badging, yes, I can see that as an excuse. Sell scrap at 1 Inf and get the badges. TBH though, not having much trouble getting them without.

Boring, common invention salvage will get you 250 Inf from any and all vendors. If you right click on a type of Salvage, you get an option to sell the entire stack, you don't need to click 'Sell' multiple times. If you're selling to get rid, that's 240 Inf per item, minimum that you're losing on every transaction.
