While soft cap was verrrrrry nice on my NRG/Elec Blaster, I have been tossing an idea around in my head.
I am thinking of bringing my blaster back to his roots...Get as much Dmg/Recharge as humanly possible!
But I was also thinking of switching up from Force to Cold for my epic and losing my Repulsive Bomb is a bit disheartening. Right now I hit Build Up + Aim. Hit them with Repuslive bomb which does some good AOE dmg(and knock down) and then hit them with Explosive Blast which does some great AOE dmg(and knock back).
Then again Snow Storm (slow), Horfrost(heal), Icesheild, and then Hibernoob, it could be worth it. Crank up the dmg, hit them with Exp Blast, anyone that charges with my cone attach, and then single target anyone that survived...Pure offence, prehpas use power push to control Boss's and Eb's until everyone else is cleaned up.
Anyone going to go pure offence? -
I am about to scrap my tech base and redo it all. I am pretty proud of it, but as I am upgrading it larger. May as well start over again, as it can be very frusterating moving things around with fake walls all around! Anyways if you would like to see some of what I have, let me know.

I think I have 3 of these sets 2 slotted, all and all I am not to worried as while I am not soft capped (close but not quiet there). Think I am going to use the freespec and go toward a pure dmg/recharge build instead.

So what do all of my fellow Blasters think of this? -
Quote:I have to second this.Castle,
I doubt it's easily done, so it might not be in consideration, but what about the salvage requirements for these IOs?
BotZ are the only IOs (other than purples and a couple of the very best procs) that require multiple pieces of VERY expensive, rare, salvage to create for each IO.
While I certainly agree that the set bonuses are currently too good, I had always just considered the high merit costs and high salvage requirements as part of the balancing factor for how good the set bonuses were, but with those being slashed.... -

Quote:WELL! Let me ask for this. Let us break the continuity of the base while editing!!!!
Certain restrictions in base building are being adjusted and/or removed so with that comes some freedom and more options, from an editor perspective, the degree of control and fine-tuning you have in placing items. So thats one thing. Ive seen a lot of creativity with the way players use one object (or hundreds of them) to act as another so my other plan is to provide more base objects, more textures, and more themed sets. Suggestions?
Let me move a room off to the side and such while I delete a big room in the middle of the base and have it replaced by the time I am done! -
Quote:Very Vague, no ETA. Which really saddens me.

To be honest I would just be happy with the ability to break continuity for a short time for my base to move rooms around. Well that and not having to tear down an entire false wall to do it!!!! -
If you find yourself on Victory, Shoot me a PM.
I host an adults only RP SG with NO Erotic RP. (you can if you want but none of the members will actively seek it)
We are a small group with 7 active members who try to stay in character 80% of the time or more, and have no requirements at all other then just having fun. -
Quote:*points up* Purchased the video card about a week ago 5850. I have a custom power supply that can handle thatWith your extremely limited budget, I'd get the video card.
You'll end up processor locked for performance once you've got the new card,
but you'll get a MUCH bigger bang for the buck with a better video card than a
better cpu (for playing CoH at least).
However, before you lay out the cash for a 5750 or 5770, check your computer's
power supply to make sure it's got enough overhead to handle the new card.
Many "pre-built" systems (especially older Dell's) are notorious for having power
supplies that are just barely big enough to handle the components they came with
and really start limping if you try to upgrade....but thanks for the advice!
I do not worry to much but "dumping" a limited amount of money on a proc as what ever I upgrade goes to the wifes pc. -
Quote:That is the problem, budget. I only need something to last one year and as I can not afford to move from XP to Win 7 at this time.I would say neither. You're listing a dual core and a 'faux' quad core (2 dual cores on the same chip - not a true quad core). Plus, those are both old technology at this point. I would go to the newer generation and get either a Core i5 or i7 (depending on your budget).
As much as I would love to skip up to a I5 or I7 then on top of the proc and mobo there would have to be a RAM upgrade to DDR3 Budget is $300. Though I could maybe, MAYBE squeeze out another $50 to $100 -

How about a way to convert INF to Merits for rolls and recipies!
-
fixed it after a few hours nevermind
-
Just got the XFX 5850 Black Edition and was skimming through this thread and I just want to say Thanks to you Bubba for all of the information in here!
-
Went a head and purchased a XFX Radeon HD5850 1gb -HD585AZNBC

Next up is proc/ and it looks like I will need a better mobo with a higher FSB -

Quote:We have that all covered with Alts so no worries there, between our 5 members we are 22 alts in the SG, so we are covered on the bonus prestigeThe only prestige you can loose is the bonus prestige for the first 15 members, so if your SG has less than 13 people left when they leave after the weekend then you would loose the bonus from those 2, but not the prestige they earned during gameplay.
Thanks for trying to look out for us! But we have all of our bases covered
SOOO to get back on topic
You want XP, drops, inf for double xp weekend all we ask is you play in sg mode in out sg.
fair trade and we all win -
Thats the point Ele, they get to keep anything and everything they get while on the team
The SG keeps the prestige even after they leave, it is a win win -
Being an avid fan of base building, my very small sg will be running radio mishes in PI all weekend!
*Keep your own drops including purples!*
*Keep your own inf!*
*Earn xp!*
All we ask is while you are on the team you join the SG and play in SG mode.
If interested sign here! or look for me in game

Quote:I would double check the motherboard manufacturer's web site to make sure your motherboard can handle the current crop of Core 2 CPUs. Usually it's just a BIOS update.
I assume you want to run Ultra Mode, which you don't need to do for Issue 17. It's not a requirement.
As long as you don't run other memory hungry programs while playing the game, 2GB is enough for now. But if you ever do bump that up to 4GB, along with a GB video card, you should really consider going to 64-bit Windows 7.
I concur with Flame, video card first, CPU second, memory third.
Oh it does, no worries on that bud, but thanks for the heads up
and while I know it is NOT requirement after dumping 3 grand on med bills and paying for my wife to fly out to spend a few weeks with a friend its time for me to get something for myself! -
Quote:Personally I'd go for the graphics card first. Then grab the processor second. Somewhere in between that I might also grab some more RAM and possibly upgrade to Windows 7
That is the goal for the long run.
6 month plan (my current proc/gfx card) is going to the wifes - DONT ask how it runs COH omg it is sooo old I have tweaked and over clocked and modded that thing out it is an 8 year old Dell that is running a socket 478 chip and an agp card.
Get her a cheap mobo, some ram and case and build her something simular to what I have now as all she does is some art and coh and net surfing.
Graphics Card will be ordered at the end of the week, and the proc on the 15th and then windows 7 and 2 more gigs of ram for me by July once she has something decent parted together. -
I am running on windows xp and still have a 775 pentium 4 3.2
Gfx card is an XFX 7900GS ><!
I also run 2 gigs of ram
I am running a gigabyte mobo that will take in core 2 duo's and quad cores
I plan on building an entirely new rig next year once med bills are all squared away soo for now I must make the old girl tick a bit more.
So for I17 should I update the gfx card first or the proc?
For a proc I can get an amazing deal on the q9300 for $130 and as much as I love my Nvidia's you simply can not pass up the 5770.
My assumption is that with the new graphic, it would be wise to get the card first, BUT wanted to ask all of you experts first. -
Well! it would if he turned it all into prestige!
I have a small super group that has 4 members total, the group has been around for about a year and well other then myself the other three only play very casualy...
SOO long story short I just turned 500,000,000 inf into prestige for the base (I sooo wish the exchange rates were better!!!!)
Always accepting Donations for improving our base!
