Just to make sure - you RECENTLY installed the updater?
If it's too old, it would be the old not working version (it should no load the old COH launcher AT ALL). -
Quote:Dearth - either we have to wait a few for them to do it, or they delay the issue. Yes they could of devoted more to fixing this, but then we would still have other issues. Heck, as it is the Mac client is still going live with a few big bugs.Sort of dropping the ball on that "we care more about our veterans than potential new subscribers," bit.

Quote:While you are not modifying the game FILES, you are modifying the GAME. By placing those files there, you are modifying the game client. When you launch the game, it is different than the default.First: Vidiotmaps is not part of the Titan Network. That's part of badge-hunter.
Second: Vidiotmaps is not "modding" the game. It is placing files in a subfolder that the game specifically looks for to overwrite sounds/images/whatever in the piggs. "Modding" the game is specifically changing the actual game files themselves. Vidiotmaps does not change a single file of the game itself.
The only part of vidiotmaps that could possibly be against the rules is someone finding out where to put those images and sounds and whatever else in order to replace them. (This is commonly called "pigg diving".) Dropping a file into a specific data folder hierarchy in order to replace something is not against the rules.
And I don't ever recall seeing where it was said that the uncompressed folder bit was there for US to use.
Now, I will grant you things like this IS why "or not" gets put into EULAs. And as far as I know, nothing really prevents them from closing the folder trick. -
Quote:Yes to #3.Except you know, Premiumns, no matter what 'tier' they are in, will not EVER get the following:
1) Incarnate content. Both in powers, and access to itrials.
2) the Tier 9 VIP tier, which includes awesome looking armors, and 150 extra PP a month
3) Any other VIP only content (which i think is just limited /time right now? Don't VIPs get /time for free, but premiunms, have to pay to have access to it?)
So yeah.. your totally right, except when your not. which is right now.
But notice, he said the game prior to Going Rogue, therefore your points are moot -
Bug both.
The intent is ANY time travel related content - even the Science store in Bricks who's mission, IIRC, does not directly involve time travel. -
Quote:And the other side of this is I believe it's written that way to allow them to make improvements to their crash monitor without having to constantly update the EULA along with the crash monitor.AKA, we might check to make sure you're not trying to cheat.
You have to understand that EULAs are written very broadly to provide the maximum legal protection to the company in question in the event that a user tries to sue them for doing something such as implementing anti-cheating measures. Irrespective of how legally enforceable EULAs as a concept may or may not be, they can *never* trump your local laws.
Do not think for one minute that what NCSoft are putting in their EULA is in any way "worse" than any other company providing any kind of software or IT service.
To be fair some people don't get the concept - remember when the PvP zones first came out and you had to use teleport to get in the guard towers - or out? It wasn't cheating/exploiting according to those who exploited that fact with TP Foe and Recall friend, locking people from playing their characters due to a geometry model. -
Quote:With the aforementioned Sony example, it was Sony (Music, specifically) being Malicious. For a PC to play the music discs, you had to use their special player that covertly installed a program (called a rootkit) that made any file beginning with a certain sequence of characters invisible to other programs yet still executable. Which made those systems wide open to hackers who knew. This is in response to what happened with Sony and a few others. Basically, they are reserving the right to investigate you if they suspect you are doing something malicious and it is detected on their end. Do you seriously think this development team will invade your privacy willy nilly? No, this just means they have the right to scan for hacking software and bots and that is likely all they will do. Btw the big W has been doing this for a long time now.
Oh, and removing it could disable your external media drives unless you re-installed. -
Robotic Drones uses the same little bugger from Blaster's Targeting drone, as such they are small and discrete, as well.

Quote:They said watchdogs - they have a herd (more than a pack, really) of watch-chihuahuas to swarm over you and take you down. That's no problem - we've already taken down the Big Dog quite a few times

Quote:*Not that much of a joke; there was a school that did that with its take-home school issued laptop computers to "monitor the behavior" of the kids. It didn't turn out at all well when people found out.
It came to light when a kid was expelled for drug use. They were actually a variety of Mike and Ike, I believe. -
Pretty sure I've had the Morality tip drop with three alignment tips in my list.
The three tips at a time limit is just for Alignment tips. -
You sure? Try throwing some bids on non-existent items and see if it drops in.

I hope he never plays an SOE game. Who knows what Sony would install under that clause (yay for CD_Rom disabling rootkits!)

Biggest thing I can say is check the server forum for your server - there should be a list of global channels there - those can help you find teams.
As far as server load (which doesn't directly equal population) the server list will show, from the top down, the last server you accessed followed by the least - to - heaviest load (with Freedom and Virtue usually the two fullest servers).
Also, www.paragonwiki.com is a good resource. -

Also, getting any time-travel related badge unlocks it as well. Recluse's victory's explore badges all count, and possibly even the one in Atlas Park City hall before the portal to RV.
Villian side, One of Marshal Brass' arcs in Cap Au awards it. Heroside, doing the faultline arcs will unlock it. -
Quote:Don't take it personally... I thought you were American*I used to speak English rather poorly as a second language. Since I've been here on these forums, I like to think I've learned to speak and write pretty damn good English. I've also learned how better to deal with infuriating people without letting them annoy me much better.
Social (non-gambling) Gaming and forums are very good for learning a language - on a D&D forum I used to go to thrice a day we helped a deaf member get a great, solid grasp on "spoken" english (several of us would "fix" his questions, explain what was wrong, then answer them.)
As for me... put three jobs and three cars behind me... (wouldn't mind going back to one of them, but their shifts conflict with my current job and I like the people there. I hate that kind of work trap) -

"A while ago"? As in more than 6months-year ago? Uninstall and redownload. It's changed heavily.

Quote:Both IOs (everything to do with them, crafting/slotting/using) and the Consignment House have monthly licenses. Mastermind and Controller Unlocks are the two permanent licenses.I think that's the case, too. And a one-time nominal fee vs a monthly nominal fee is the difference between feeling like something is a great value and feeling nickle and dimed. I think there's monthly fee for crafting, but that might be included in the fee for the IO bonuses.

Quote:NoBut if you skim an advertisement and form a complete idea of what the thing is they're selling based on whatever words are in the biggest font, and then you go and see it is *not* the thing you were expecting, isn't that totally the fault of the company?
If you skim something, and form an inaccurate picture, then it's not their fault so long as the advertisement was able to give a full ACCURATE picture (thus things like "See inside for details", etc on window ads and such - to inform you there is more).
Take a fast food ad. Say a coupon that says "FREE CHICKEN TENDERS" in large print. but right under it, in small print, it says "with purchase" or some similar line, and you skim the coupon/mailer/ad and miss that, the food vendor isn't guild of false advertising or bait and switch. -
Quote:Oh, he is.What a twist!
Seriously, didn't expect this one o.o Maybe Cole isn't the huge jerkface we've been making him out to be.
Also, Duray got Falcon Paunched.
He just doesn't like Hami (Next time on "Cole's Hometown" or "Eggs cooked before they are laid") -
Okay, CC emotes automagically change costume for you, so no need for them to be separate.
/macro Flip "cce 0 CCBackflip"
That macro would make you do the backflip costume change and put you in the costume in slot 1. It is also recommended to append em none$$ before the command to prevent issues with combat stances.
/macro Flip "em none$$cce 0 CCBackflip"
/macro Flip "cce 0 CCBackflip$$powexec_name Hover"
Note I'm not sure the power activation won't override the emote. If this doesn't work, flip the sections to either side of the $$. IF that doesn't work, it's not doable.
Details on CCE command -
Fixed
I think it's an issue with the game - they could remove it for all, or none (currently, without extra coding) as it's something done automatically at 20.
