There!

That's just mean
[/ QUOTE ]No, that was awesome. First time for me on my phone due to unusual method by passing phone OS limitations. -

[ QUOTE ]
Well that's why you need a Dark/Kinetics//Sonic/Fire Defender.
[/ QUOTE ]
I play with my fiancee all the time. She loves AoE "bullet spamming." She also has a Repeat Offender in her blood, even if she does not know it. Dark/Dark//Kin/Fire//Rad/Ice. Let it rain, Let it rain.
Ok, to the person I quoted originally, this might be one of the funnest ideas posted so far. Props.
[/ QUOTE ]
If any of those are virtue heroes, we have an SG waiting for her! (Rain Dancers) -

The Developers do want to give the story tellers some creative room - thus all the customization options. *That* is how they developers want it to be. The only way to keep that would serious require some kind of AI to scan the missions and either deny or flag for human review automatically - and frankly a AI capable of doing a good job of that without false positives (or missing crazy amounts of true positives) out the wazzu would be SkyNet, in which case we'd all be doomed, anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]Fixed because I'm bored and need amusement.

I like. -

FYI:
Community Digest - list of forum and community "red names" posts.
Dev Digest - list of COH/V game developers "red names" posts
Book mark these links. You'll probably want to check them daily to keep up with what's happening, so you can retain your membership as one of the elite know-it-alls.
[/ QUOTE ]
I read these first before checking anything else on the board - those posts are maintained by a bot that checks all rednames' posting history and updates the digest posts about once every fifteen minutes. -

Note that if you run AE missions, nothing drops purples.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless, of course, it's a Dev's Choice mission - which is unlikely to be a farming mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
Have we confirmed that? That Dev's Choice does indeed drop purples? -

Ghost Falcon said in-game that barring fixes (and a small addition Jay might be making), the booster is pretty much in its completed form.
[/ QUOTE ]Yet we still inexplicably don't have it yet.
[/ QUOTE ]
I bolded the important part for you. There are several issues with some of the features they need to fix, and Jay is trying to give us some masking options with one or two of the costume pieces. -
[ QUOTE ]
you guys are right, the devs love player feedback,
[/ QUOTE ]
If it's something other than "lolsuck" yes, they do (exception : there have been a few times when people have been flat out told to stop offering feedback in [Mostly thinking ED here] insofar as trying to have a decision reversed. Very rare though).
[ QUOTE ]
and jump right on it, how could i ever have not seen this was the case. i suppose that all the folks that think otherwise are just being big babies.
[/ QUOTE ]
However, you seem to be under the delusion that Listening to Feedback from Players is like a Catholic Priest listening to a Papal Edict. Listening does not mean obeying it and executing it as soon possible.
[ QUOTE ]
they did not remove the C.o.P. trial because of player demand.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, they removed it because some issue in it's base coding allowed for a MASSIVE exploit that gave SG members *not* in the trial to be unable to complete a fed ex/Talk to NPC mission. Yet still collect the completion XP each and every time they clicked on the NPC.
[ QUOTE ]
was the "global defense nerf" due to player outcry too ?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, but defense values had become something of an issue.
Various other games, like Everquest (or even World of Warcraft) suffer from "power bloat" where players get so very strong that to challange players the mobs had to get extremely powerful - resulting in players that didn't min-max being unable to do newer content. -

[ QUOTE ]
Well it took forever, ungodly number of petitions, and about 10 emails. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. Given that the last 3 resubmits the mission was unchanged, but now sometime yesterday while at work it is now unbanned. The same GM that called it a farm is the one that unabanned it. This whole thing was too much hastle for a "game".
If you're curious its mission arc 236903.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the downside of putting the onus on players to "police" each other rather than the devs taking the responsibility of designing a system to prevent whatever they consider abusive in the first place.
One of many reasons I pretty much avoid MA completely.
[/ QUOTE ]Yes, because it's completely possible to give players some actual creative leeway *and* mechanically bar all farms, etc. [/sarcasm]
[/ QUOTE ]
Next time try reading something before engaging the sarcasm... You will note I never said anything about preventing "all farms". I said that designing and implementing a system that prevents what the devs consider abusive behavior would be much more effective than relying on players policing themselves. That is not in any way unrealistic, and it is what they SHOULD have done before releasing MA.
[/ QUOTE ]
Guess what? While they won't go and ban the player, the mission spoken of was banned due to being a farm - because it looks like the developers consider farms to be an abuse of the Mission Archetiect! So while you didn't say all farms, you did imply it (Or you have no idea what you are talking about).
The Developers do want to give the story tellers some creative room - thus all the customization options. *That* is how they developers want it to be. The only way to keep that would serious require some kind of AI to scan the missions and either deny or flag for human review automatically - and frankly a AI capable of doing a good job of that without false positives (or missing crazy amounts of true positives) out the wazzu probably 20 years out minimum.
Either that, or a Mad Libs style mission generator - Fill in the Blanks Only. -
I've got a few I think I would know.
North Pole Exile is a MM - probably be something like North Pole Sentinel or North Pole Vigilante.
Solid Charge - Lethal Amps
Rare Earth - Lethal Element -

That's okay.. do you have any idea what trans-dimensional phone service charges are?!
Talk about your Roaming charges!

Better than the Roman charges for temporal phone service.

Cool quickchat edit guide.
[/ QUOTE ]

C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\data\texts\English\Menus\quickchat.mnu
Doesn't exist.
Only Texture Maps are in the data folder.
[/ QUOTE ]
To much crap, rather have them all already there. Babs said he would put in what is missing. I sent him what is missing, so i'll just wait for him to put the missing in
[/ QUOTE ]
That guide is useful if you want to add in unlocked emotes. -

My friend is having really disliking his Arachnos Soldier because he is getting defeated all the time. He feels that the Cloaking Device has the same value as a Stalkers Hide, I told him that I don't think that it does.
If anybody can confirm the numbers for me on this I would be very appreciative.
Rich the Numbers Guy
[/ QUOTE ]
just type in [hide] on the soldier - it will show you the stats
Right click on cloaking device and look at detailed info - same. -

Oh, and one final point to make.....you list 7 items of note as examples of how responsive to player feedback developers have been, but if you read these items closely, you will notice that 3 of the 7 are called "potential" changes that are "in the pipeline".....we were not talking about how responsive they could have been, or say they will be in the future, so your example shows they are responding to player feedback (on minor issues) a little over half the time. I suppose that is better than not at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm, and those changes in the pipeline are all cosmetic. One of which was basically suggested/asked for in dialogue with BAB today. One of the tricks of MMOs - always changing somehow. -
[ QUOTE ]
.funny, I thought Positron said the new pvp was great, but apparently not good enough to be used for base raiding, oh well.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's more to base raiding than simple PvP.
And Lightfoot was just listing things from this issue - every issue (except maybe the first one or two) has various things that can be pointed at and linked to players. Such as ditching the ACC debuff on travel powers and going with suppression instead. Bodyguard evolved from player needs. Etc. -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh, and another thing....."feel wronged because Positron slapped my wrist..." is really super funny to me. I have never been banned, had my account locked, kicked from forums, had M.A. missions nerfed, characters deleted, nothing. Perhaps my opinion is based on 4 years of playing the game, but I understand that it may not be EVERYONES opinion. In any case, it certainly is not because I am mad for being disiplined.
[/ QUOTE ]
But apparently your PvP ego has been slapped quite hard - by Castle and Positron (I seriously doubt Positron didn't have a decent hand in it, changes that big require AUTHORITY! ;P) -

Besides having TP to every zone, I also think putting down the teleporters in some sort of organized fashion is important. I hate when I have to randomly hunt to find the correct teleporter.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like this?
I tried to put them in order by lvl range, but also put adjoining zones together, while keeping the area compact, but not crowded:
Atlas Park
Galaxy City
King's Row
Pocket D
Perez Park
The Hollows
Skyway City
Faultline
Steel Canyon
Boomtown
Talos
Dark Astoria
Independence Port
Terra Volta
Croatoa
Striga
Brickstown
Crey's Folley
Founder's Falls
Eden
Peregrine Island
Rikti War Zone
The large room can also easily fit the Raid TP if/when it ever becomes needed again.
[/ QUOTE ]
Several of the SGs I'm in seperate hazard zones from normal city zones, then have red lighting for the hazard zone teleporters. -

Sophie - a note about your forum handle.
On our current forums, you can change your handles as often as you want.
(Except PK - he abused it, so some of us are tempted to petition for a ban if he does it again!
)
However, soon we will move to a new set of forums and that software does NOT allow the changing of handles - so unless you want to be permanently "SophieNewbie" you might want to change your handle
-
[ QUOTE ]
<QR>
Probably.
Since it looks like we'll be able to change the colours of our powers in Issue 16, you should be able to have your Corruptor's or Dominator's Electrical Blasts be Blue, Rouge, Green, or Lavendar before you "Go Rogue," if you want to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed. -

[ QUOTE ]
I know that certain Electrical attacks mention incapacitating the foe by "leaving them writing in agony,"
[/ QUOTE ]
Many electrical attacks, in addition to the end drain and proc for endurance return, have a chance to Sleep the target.
[ QUOTE ]
I was thinking it was Short Circuit that did the -Recovery, but the more the merrier if Ball Lighting is the one.
[/ QUOTE ]
Short Circuit and Tesla Cage have -Recovery for more than a few seconds. (10 and 8 seconds respectively)
The rest have a proc of recovery debuff lasting between 2-4 seconds, with Zapp and shocking grasp doing the best at 4s/50% proc. Next up is Thunder Strike at 4s/40% chance, and Powersink has a 4s/30% chance to proc.
Lightning Field drains endurance, but has no recovery debuff (proc or no) and Lightning Clap doing no endurance drain OR recovery debuff. -
[ QUOTE ]
Depends on your power sets, and how much +HP you have, but finding a single mob (or a couple of mobs) that you can get to attack you while you rest tends to work. Rest boosts your healing rate, but also decreases your resistance, making it so that the enemies do more damage to you, which you can then heal up immediately.
[/ QUOTE ]
Also - as long as the hit takes you below base HP, the whole hit counts -
[ QUOTE ]
You can grab "farming" missions at any level. Most of the"farming" maps auto-sk you to level 50.
However they're better running with a team.

Battle Maiden auto-Sk's you?

They're "new", but they're not actually available in the game yet. Likely, it's a slip of something from Going Rogue (a while back, some recipes got accidentally added to the market before being added to the game in a later issue).
[/ QUOTE ]
Already? Seems like they would be from the Science Booster or I16. Going Rogue is still a ways off....
[/ QUOTE ]
If you look at the descriptions, you'll see all of them reference Praetorian stuff... that's why I figured Going Rogue.
[/ QUOTE ]
New salvage would definitly have an impact in gameplay - and that is outside the scope of a booster. -

Not Terran Knight? Or are you (PK) against the Goddess in the Machine?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, I don't get the reference.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry - As I recall, your handle is somewhat based off Ender's Game (and the following books) and Jane always seemed more a Goddess then a Ghost in the Machine (reference to unintended workings of code).
