Quote:To my knowledge, the Wolf & Dreck maps weren't considered explicitly exploitative.I think its more that they took a harder stance against PL and farming in the past. That's why the Dreck and Wolf maps got timers on them. I don't know if I'd say dumpster diving was an exploit. Do you know if a dev ever said it was?
But dumpster diving was called out as exploitative, in that it abused map geometry - compressing 100+ mobs into a space meant for 20
Abusing map geometry was fun -
Quote:See now - this is a statement that I know isn't true. They are farms and I have never farmed anything other than the wall in Cim - just because I like beating up Romans!
If you're the same Infernus Hades that used to play on Champion at launch, and who I teamed with regularly before he deleted all of his characters one day in a fit of pique, then you have most definitely farmed things other than Romans. -
Welcome back. Recommend taking a look in Cape Devans' Fire/Cold thread

Well, I like where your head's at, Nihilii!
Probably won't undergo that drastic a respec, but may play around on +0/x8 S/L ambush farms to see how they go, or possibly a Battle Maiden farm or somesuch. -
Quote:Post your build, show us what direction you're leaningOk,
So I started a SS/SR build. and I wanted help with it since this is my first foray into SR. Anyone done this before? Anyone worked with this build, or a similar build. I Love SS, and have had a SS/Inv for literally years, and I know this is going to be a vastly diffrent beast.
Any help will be appreciated.
thanks,

Quote:I have one at 50 with a bit of Incarnate in it. I think I would get obliterated in a standard fire ambush farm though?I think a fire/cold corruptor would be much more interesting to farm with.
Currently soft cap S/L defense, Corruptor HP cap, enough +recharge to get close to perma Hasten.
Thoughts on how to build to farm? -

Finally. After seven years, a bug that affects my favorite toon in a positive manner. <wipes tear>

I would like to bring my Fire/Cold Corr.

Sadly, won't be able to make this week's run. Hope you guys have fun!

Great job, guys. Not an easy task.
Also - Marut, I read your testing commentary with great interest. Great work there. -
Quote:Another /Cold, do eeet!I just wanted to update this, as it looks to me that the corruptor team is filled. If anyone else is interested in joining on a corruptor, I'm sure we can find more people to form a second team.
See you all tonight!
-Llew.
With that lineup, we should be able to zerg rush the entire SF. -
Quote:Still need to work my way up to the T3 reactive ... only got T2 last night. I sense some Lambdas and BAFs in my future. Interesting that you were able to get really close to my time and I have the Patron pet out. I may have to reconsider Musculature / no Flares, interesting data point!I just did some testing tonight. Without lore pets: 3:45. This is with Musculature, T3 Reactive (proc, not -res) and using, primarily FB, Blaze, FB, Fire Ball attack chain (no flares or patron pets. 1 Apoc proc and 1 Glad Jav proc, both in Fire Blast. I'm not really spec'd to kill pylons.)
With T4 Lore pets (Boss + Invincible support, Clockwork): 1:20 - Wow.
The T4 pets ... Wow. I mean, wow. That's amazing. So you like the Clockwork pets? Haven't opened Lore yet, was thinking the Warworks pets looked boss (that's what the Scrappers all seem to have, lol), but man if you're in the 1 minute range, the Clocks look to be just as good.
Thanks for sharing. -
I thought I would add another "Rad Avenger the trial noob says 'Thank you' thread".
Hadn't done Lambda yet - its all BAF, all the time out there.
So last night, I hop into the "D" and as usual, there are BAFs running, but couldn't get into the existing runs. Nothing wrong with that, not complaining - when you have a good League hitting on all cylinders and everyone's screaming "AGAIN, AGAIN, THANK YOU SIR, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER!" well ... just keep going!
So I decide to just jump in and recruit. For a Lambda. A trial I've never done.Took about 20 minutes or so, but we got a League of 12 together to do a Lambda run. Successful, and surprisingly easy. Mostly due to guidance offered by a couple of seasoned vets. Special shout outs to The Altruist and Necross / Nyx for lending a hand with quick orders as needed.
Got Empyrean, 3 Astrals, bunch of threads and a Very Rare. Verrrrah sexeh! -

Debuffs are applied when damage hits - for the attacks. Not sure for Siphon, assume after animation but can't remember.
Its a nice cheap build, I like where you took it. On my live Sonic/Sonic I took the Cone Sleep and Single Target Stun from Sonic Attack. Cheap places to put Purples (well, used to be). And the Single Target Stun does pretty high -Res. I'd probably take the Stun before Sonic Siphon (or maybe not, dunno).
Also, Cardiac is the bees knees -
Also, at about the 33% mark, I include Rain of Fire in my attack chain for the triple scourge. Sooo nice to see the pylon explode in the midst of RoF. This may actually be sub-optimal, I haven't test it vs. a pure single target string.

Quote:Halfway at the 4-5 minute mark is not bad at all. Better than most pre-I19 Scrappers. And you would have finished faster due to Scourge. What are you guys tactics on pylon soloing on your fire/cold.
I was waiting for a LGTF team to fill up the other day and was playing around with a pylon. I was definately going to take it down but about the 4-5 minute mark I was about only half done when I stoped because the team filled up and the first mission was up.
Specific keys for me (others may have other tactics, would love to hear them):
- Have a pet. The Disruptor Bot adds a non-neglible amount of damage. A corollary is "buff the pet before going in" and another is "stand on the other side of pylon so that the pet isn't killed with AoE splash damage".
- Keep Benumb up. -500% regen is what the Dr. ordered.
- 45% Lethal Defense or 45% Ranged Defense. I have Lethal in my build because of the Scorpion Shield.
- Have a good attack chain. Corollary: Have good procs. For me the apoc proc is a must. Corollary: Have the global recharge necessary to run your chosen attack chain. Another corollary: Have the right incarnate buffs. I have Spiritual but I am seriously thinking about musculature based on Crazy_Larry's comments.
Honestly, those are my keys. The pet really helps. I didn't even think about it until DSorrow PM'd me his cold/sonic defender build. -
Quote:For primary, you'd have to go for Fire/*. When it absolutely, positively has to be dead, Fire/ is the answer. So, what's the word? What's your favorite debuffing-but-still-nice-and-explodey combo?
For secondary ... a few options:
- /Dark: RoF + Tar Patch is awesome. Lots of debuffage in Darkest Night as well. Its not my personal cup of tea, but it may be what you want.
- /Traps: Pretty damned good for the reasons cited by other smart posters, but wasn't my cup of tea.
- /Cold: RoF + Sleet is a nuke on a shorter timer. Drawbacks: It comes with Ice Shields. On the other hand, you don't have to use them. Also doesn't mature until 35 when you get Sleet. Fire/Cold is my favorite toon in the game, but I freely acknowledge it takes a while to get to the goodness. -
Took the Fire/Cold out for a spin last night.
On the I19 build with Rare Alpha, was able to run Blaze-Fblast-Flares Chain (one apoc proc, two glad jav procs) and took down the pylon at 4:00 mark.
For I20, added a reactive interface (just tier 1) and shaved 27 seconds off. Go -res? Will try again tonight after slotting a tier 2 reactive.
Will be a while till I get below two minutes though ... getting and slotting a Lore pet is a ways a way, and that appears to be where the Scrappers are getting the big DPS from. -
Had an absolute blast. Had no idea what I was doing (1st timer), but leadership and experienced peeps helped out tremendously.
Was on for three raids and I can honestly say it was some of the most fun I've had in my seven years playing this game.
It was funny - a bunch of us started congregating in Pocket D just as another raid was heading out / blinking out. Broadcast chatter slowly started up ... "LF BAF!" "LF Any!" "Plz invite to BAF!"
Keltial (edit: Thx for the spelling, Cobalt) set up the league, organized the teams and did a great job on a totally impromptu / ad-hoc basis.
I've seen a lot of complaints on the forums about i20, but I tell ya, I'm not seeing it. -
Quote:wait, what ... I haven't followed your posts in a while ... you have heroes now?I know that some of my oldest and most respected/loved toons: my villains, are not even goingto get a look/see into this content. It will be Old News long before I ever get my two main Heroes kitted out.
*sadness*
What, I ask, is this world coming to???
