Sonic/Sonic: Thoughts? Suggestions? Critique?

This is the build that I came up with for my Sonic/Sonic 'fender. Any thoughts?

Also, does the -resist from Sonic Siphon/ Sonic Attacks start at the begining of the animation or when it ends? I would check with a power analyzer but I can't access my game till at least 7-8 more hours.

I'll give a good look-over when I get to computer with Mids (not this one).

Off-hand, I'd say go ahead and put the Posi proc in Howl to get your recharge bonus. Yes, I certainly understand the benefits of range in Howl, it's just if you're 4 deep into Posi, might as well get the big prize at the 5th slot.

I like Cardiac for my Son/Son - Endurance, Resists, Range. All attributes I want to enhance.

Global = Hedgefund (or some derivation thereof)

Debuffs are applied when damage hits - for the attacks. Not sure for Siphon, assume after animation but can't remember.

Its a nice cheap build, I like where you took it. On my live Sonic/Sonic I took the Cone Sleep and Single Target Stun from Sonic Attack. Cheap places to put Purples (well, used to be). And the Single Target Stun does pretty high -Res. I'd probably take the Stun before Sonic Siphon (or maybe not, dunno).

Also, Cardiac is the bees knees

Just did a quick once-over. Nice build but you're going to be constantly end-crashing. In fact, the second you drop Disruption Field on a melee ally, you WILL end crash very shortly.

Also a couple notes- World of Confusion is a waste. I know you got it for Purples, but it's a grabage power for a Sonicx2. One, you won't be in melee range and 2, the Confuse last for mere seconds (like 3-4). Plus it's another end-hog Toggle you don't need. Two, the Hold in Liquify is the weakest of it's effects, it's only a mag 2 hold for about 8 seconds after slotted, not really good. I will need to check my Corr when I get home, but franken-slotting the To-hit and Defense Debuff sets would give you near 70% Debuff to each- a much better effect I think.

I tinkered with the build a bit, now you should be able to run all your toggles and still function, and still be at the S/L resist cap for you (75%)
(also- Cardiac Alpha is a MUST)

Not too many glaring errors, but slotting Liquefy for hold duration is a complete waste. Throw in 3x Membranes if you want to be slot-efficient, or your choice of to-hit debuff set if you have spare slots and want to chase the bonuses. The only things that really matter about Liquefy, slotting-wise, are the recharge rate and to-hit debuff.

World of Confusion is pretty pointless aside from serving as a nice Coersive Persuasion mule if you have the cash. Just don't think you're going to get very much out of it as an actual power.

Shout isn't that bad, but it's not that needed either. My Sonic/Sonic uses Shriek - Scream - Shriek - Dominate (or Howl or Sonic Siphon, as needed) for his main attack chain. Dominate is both a sweet hold and an impressive attack if slotted for it; I like a mix of cheap acc/mez/dam HOs in it, but straight lockdown works decently if you aren't worried about that.

If you can, you really really really want to put the Apocalypse proc in Shriek. Considering how much -res you're going to be slinging around, and how often you are going to hit Shriek, that one proc makes a massive impact on your overall DPS. If you are only going to slot a single purple IO, make it the Apoc proc. It's pretty fun when your tier one defender blast can pummel a boss for 300 damage. I'd also say that you should rip a slot out of something (Assault? Liquefy?) to drop the Posi proc in Howl to complete the recharge bonus.

For Alpha boosts, I'd suggest either Cardiac (more +res for you and allies, literally infinite endurance unless fighting sappers) or Musculature (really, when is more damage bad?). Nerve is excessive on most characters, and Spiritual doesn't add much for a character with little that needs recharge, and no heals or stuns. On that note, making room for the Medicine pool wouldn't be a bad idea; not required on a Sonic or any other defender, but it's nice to have at least some healing ability at times.

Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

Thanks for the feedback so far... But I should probably point out a few things. Only reason I took World of Confusion is as a mule for the Coercive Persuasion so I can get that 5% Ranged defence, not gonna use it. It's also the reason I have Liquify slotted with the hold set, but I suppose I can put a set of Cloud Senses in there and get recharge bonus and Max End out of it as well on top of the ranged defence. And yes, I was planning on using the Cardiac Alpha with her.

Benchpresser, I didn't get the chance to look at your build, but will do when I get the time.

I'm able to review it in Mids now, so here's a few thoughts:

Your global Accuracy + Kismet IO make it so that your final to-hit is capped at 95% against +3 for Sonic Siphon with only one Accuracy IO. You can take an Accuracy out to something else you'd rather slot.

In Tough, you would still be hard capped to s/l by swapping a basic Endurance Reduction IO instead of the End/Res you have in there. Alternatively, a Steadfast Protection End/Res would buff your HP a bit.

You've exceeded the limit of 2.5% recovery bonuses. I'd take out one of the dual aspect Performance Shifter IOs. Either move the slot elsewhere or use a basic End Mod IO.

Though it's tempting to swap out the Lockdowns in Liquefy for Cloud Senses, to get the recharge bonus, doing so presents a conundrum of sorts. A Sonic/Sonic doesn't need much for global recharge, since the only power that really benefits is Liquefy. If I substitude Cloud Senses to improve global recharge, the enhancement recharge for Liquefy goes down. The end result is a 10 second loss in recharge by switching to the higher recharge bonuses. I have Cloud Senses slotted in my Son/Son, but I see a strong point for Lockdown too.

Here's what it looks like with these changes, plus the one I had above about the Posi proc.

The Code is not working for me for some reason. But your post pretty much summarizes how I feel about my slotting. I didn't catch the overcap 2.5% recovery thanks for that. And thanks for the math about Sonic Siphon. Will do the changes you suggested. Thanks again
