  1. Maybe you shouldnt speak for everyone on such absurdities. Ive been posting my builds the same way for a while now and I have always used hasten in my numbers. I also never build for perma hasten because the last 10-20 seconds (of bonus's) seem like they could be used more effectively elsewhere. You are the first person to ever bring it up in one of my build threads and Ive never seen it brought up in any other build thread. If you have some personal numbers to toss out for comparison purposes, go for it. Otherwise....
  2. Im EXTREMELY disappointed that TWO people used reservoir dogs as their theme and didn't make the arsonist Mr. Blonde!!! CMON!! SERRIOUSLY!

    My bots/therm (wankel tech) has the following names:
    minions all 12a
    lieuts are helper and rosie
    assaulty will be 13b

    Digging the gears theme... wish I thought of that instead of wankel... Theres a bazillian awesome options for a gear theme in the costume creator (and the nem staff.)
  3. Obviously the damage will be better leveling as a corr but have you considered just sticking with it until you have FS? No matter what you have for attack powers, be it fire blast or shoe melee, your gonna be putting up ridiculous orange numbers once you get fs.

    Im curious about the necessity of the en/ne/f/co soft capped defense. Did you play with just s/l defenses and feel the need to build up the exotics too or did it all go down at once? Also, is that mainly for the hero fights or did you notice a major difference in regular mob fights too?

    Did you not take hasten? Because with fire/cold defense and recov numbers like that, I would assume you have a couple purple sets slotted up, but I would also have assumed your rech to be a little higher.
  6. yeah energy melee is pretty lackluster now. I have tried numerous times to get back into it on my original main but it aint gonna happen. Ive modded the build multiple times in many different ways and it does not work out. Its style doesnt seem to mesh well with the brute smashy ways.

    Dual blades on the other hand seems to play pretty well. Its pretty average all around.

    seriously though, what is the role of an energy melee brute? What is their strength supposed to be? Sticky fingers? Mine just seems to punch dead guys reeeeally hard.

    right it doesnt make sense to count a power I have up more often than not...wait what? Ide like to see a permahasten in granite build out there that doesnt sacrifice survivability, if its even possible.

    I did not want to post my build because it makes it look like Im asking for others builds; Im not. I know people can be extremely protective of their builds (especially SA ones) which is why I am asking for their totals. If thats giving away too much still, then uh...keep not responding?

    Is my end going to be an issue?

    that is my rech bonus IN granite. The 4 or 5 lotg's really shine, and its really the only part of my build thats gonna take me a little to get. Merits ftw.

  10. When I made my stone armor brute (ss/sa) build I focused on softcapping s/l, regen and recov, and then recharge. I got the softcapped s/l, 51 regen (in rooted,) I think 2.6 recov, and 55ish global rech in granite. I am curious about other's numbers. I havent completely finished my toon, but aside from the lotg's I need I managed to make it very cheaply.

    Also, I took Electric fences and ball of lightning from my PPP. Thoughts? End going to be an issue?

    Yes because I am constantly timing out how long it is until the brute's SD is back up. And yes all players play on the highest graphics levels and never miss out on another toons animations because no one is ever busy doing their own thing. We should all know exactly what power each teammate is about to activate and any other way is noobery.

    This is how you should play the game and if you dont play that way you are wrong.

  14. Seems sorta like fluff to me. The leader can state what he wants when hes looking for members/ addressing the team before the fight.

    Like its been stated, this would be a band aid on the real issue at hand. The actual fix behind this suggestion is reworking the mechanics of kb, and I would be for the current method they are using for this (reducing base mag so only one kb enhancer is needed to reinstate the kb) in game or the one evilgeko laid out (with the 0 multiplier.) Sure, the 0 multiplier enhancement would be more wasteful (compared to how you can use a kb/dam or kb/acc enhancement in the current system) but if it is the only way this makes it live, I am down!

    A long time ago I argued against a crazy technical team finder application, and this suggestion falls in line with it. Do I see it being utilized? Nope.

    Though, I think she is psy damage so shed be a good choice for a veat to fight.

    We already have guys with swords standing toe to toe to guys with big futuristic guns of pure death. Or rather, guys with guns standing toe to toe with guys shooting radiation out their freakin eyes.

    Also, you probably didnt know this but some of the greats in the comic book world were originally "street fighters." Biggest one to come to mind is Batman, who originally (as in before they reinvented him as a martial arts guy) was a boxer with street flav. Yeah, look it up.
  19. Okay Im gonna have to get an example for the enhancement arguement. Looking on mids, shockwave allows two IO set types for enhancing, ranged AoE and Knockback. Ranged aoe (excluding air burst) sets share a sixth enhancement bonus of toxic resistance. Toxic resistance does not make or break a toon, so that cant be an issue.

    Now I know, that still means you may have to add another slot to the power (if your making the arguement for 5) in order to fit in that kb. That also means though that you can use a say, dam/kb enhancement, making your attack do more damage. So even though we made you strip a whole single enhancement from a different power, it was not "wasted" making the power what it used to be, it still enhanced it in another department.

    I dont think you can definitively say kb is better than kd or vise versa. One could easily argue a good defense is an active offense, and the kb knocked mobs out of their next attacks range or AoE, allowing them to live to deal more damage. One could say the kb knocked the mobs out of their say, Invincibility's zone, lowering their defense and allowing more attacks to hit them. Too situational to call.

    Thats why Im all for giving the player the choice.

  21. I will give this a yes every time I see it suggested because of the simple fact that it DOES NOT take away any tactics. All you have to do is slot it with ONE kb enhancement to change it back to kb. Any arguement against this change holds no ground in my eyes. If the one enhancement change destroys your toon, you were doing something wrong. You dont even have to put in a pure kb io, it could be a kb/rech, end, acc, whatever.

    This comes up a lot. Obviously it gets mixed results every time, but in the past a majority of the people who posted on the topic have been in favor of the change.
  22. TA is not easy on endurance (on mm's) so youll definately want to keep that in mind when slotting. I dropped disruption arrow because it is too hard to utilize (w/ a 10 ft. radius) when your pets are knocking everything all over the place. I would build for regen since you are shafted in that department. I am no expert on power boost, but it does not look like your toon would really benefit from it.

    Overall I suggest looking at any build for any toon just to get a feel of the typical suggestions for slotting powers. I also suggest looking at the powers stats as you add enhancements, because most of your slots are wasted.
  23. As long as Im not forced to look like Im wearing rock knee pads and a bike helmet covered in brown paper machet, Im down for the change.

    I would love to see a grass option, or moss modifier. I would definately be fine seeing some armors that may be considered a stretch for a "granite" armor, but rocky-looks should be a focus. Granite fortunately takes on many different textures naturally too so it shouldnt be a big deal.

    I like to solo with my fort. I can tear through lieuts completely unphased (and intend to utilize the 8 man team option) and still handle boss mobs safely and consistently. Darts and nado do the deed.
  25. if you really want this toon to be as super as your enhancement choices show, your better off rolling it as a corr. This was a fotm late-08 and it proved to be outperformed by archery blasters. Gotta think the corr's will have an advantage though.
