  1. My code of conduct for sb is as follows:
Keep asking for it annoyingly, you get none. And I tell people when theyve brought it to this point.

I never sb in the middle of a fight. Ask for sb in the middle of the fight, see rule one.

I sb on transition, its not hard to notice either. See those 2 guys that just zoomed by you on their way to the next mob? Thats because they stayed close enough to me to get hit by the sb bug. They may not have been the first to jump out of the old mob towards the next, but their patience obviously payed off.

If you stayed next to me and said thanks after I tossed you the sb, Im likely to look for your name first on the next round of applications.

I rarely ever have trouble keeping a granite sb'd up because of point 3. They suck at mob transitions (unless they know whats up with tp) so its usually easy to hit em with it. I have only ran into one conflict with a stoner and it was because of point 2. Dude continuously asked for sb mid fight after I told him it wasnt gonna happen, and he was being a ***** about it, so I quit the team. Not 5 minutes later I had tells coming from half the team asking if they could cruise with me.

I realize how big of a deal SB is, especially with stoners, and so I try to toss it out as much as my sanity allows. However, my plant/kin is a busy toon, and I have more important things going on than sb'ing the team, so if it becomes a problem I cut em off.

To the OP: having people ask for sb like little children would get on my nerves, from either side of the situation. However, if you let it be known its that way from the start, theres not much room for complaining from anyone. So yeah...let it be known.
  2. How do MM's respond to any +damage? If I were to pop a red, does it split the +dam between my 5 henchies and me?
  3. It worked with fury last time I played my elec/shield, cant comment on if it works with rage. AAO effected it too.

At this point, no one should consider the scrap version as "working right," but as far as what you mentioned, it seems to be working.

    New to the game.

What role do you like playing in MMO's?

Scrappers are the most straight forward AT in this game. Brutes and tanks are similar, but tanks lack damage and some people do not like the brute game, though Im personally a fury bar fanatic.

Blasters are fun, but their mid-game can get mighty frusterating as their whole shtick is mass damage with 0 resistance/defense. Stalkers are the redside blasters, but they are melee range. Think of the stalker as the WoW rogue, cept its not all lame like WoW. Dominators are pretty sick too, they are the redside controllers except instead of secondary support, they do massive damage.

The typical support role AT's are the corruptors and defenders, both are fun, depends which game you want to play (red or blue, hero or villain.)

The more intricate support AT's are the Mastermind and Controller. Both very fun AT's, both very powerful AT's. MM's have henchman to do their work, which is pretty epic. Some MM sets can be a bit of a bore though, because they arent as button mashy as the other AT's, since your henchies are doing your work. The key thing to a MM is micro managing the squad. So if you were into War3 and such strategy games, the MM may bring a bit of that style energy into the RPG world. Trollers are fun because they are set up to take their enemies out of the fight via holds/mezzes, and then their secondary is support so you can buff/debuff. Two very fun, powerful, and complex AT's.

Dont decide if you like the toon until AT LEAST level 22. At 22 you can access SO's, which completely change how each toons play is. Seriously, this is pretty key. You will find it a breeze to get to 22, so its really not a problem. This is the hands down most important information I can give a newcomer.

And corruptors apparently too right? Because defenders were the last AT to get an AT wide buff, so obviously they werent so balanced right?

I was going to quote all the idiotic puke you just spewed out with your keyboard, but I think your constant running from others questions has done it for me already. You just said you know how to play TA so much better than everyone else, yet you skip the t9 hold that solidifies its ability to mitigate damage. But yeah, we are the ones who dont play/know how to play our TA'ers.

TA does not have ONE SINGLE BUFF. It is ALL DEBUFFS and some mitigative holds. Now, considering it isnt a troller primary, I dont think those holds should be making up for the lack of buffs (moreso debuffs.) So, that makes it an all debuff set. That can be outdebuffed by just about every other set in multiple categories. These are numerical fact. And Im not saying it needs to outdebuff every set in every department. It just needs more going for it than -movement speed.

once upon a time? I was buying every single KC enhance in the set for under 10 mill not 4 months ago. Ive been sitting on a 30 mill bid for the trip for a solid month now. And they were selling for that then too, but lately they havent been going for under 60 mill. Redside markets a JOKE!
  7. I would definately be down for battle formations.

Set it up how you want them, then every time you tell them to go to that battle formation, they do it and dont break the formation. Doesnt have to be that intricate either. They could give us maybe 4 base options, ex. a diamond, straight line, square, or star.

Ah life would be much easier and aoe's wouldnt be as sudden death as it can be sometimes.

Though if they actually got pet AI down pat, it would probly follow with the nerf bat.

Add Weave and a few set bonuses and you can get softcapped defense to all types but psionic as well.
build or it didnt happen. Even on a tank you have to make up 10% resists for f/c/en/ne. Now I can see someone getting the fire or negative resistance on a granite/ tank, but I simply cant see how they could get the energy and cold all fit in, nevermind all four of them. There simply isnt enough set bonus's for resistance out there to achieve it.

As for that traps fender, pretty freaking awesome. Wonder if/hope corr's will be getting access to FoN in GR, because though the outcome is something to drool over, I am not really interested in leveling a toon with traps as the primary.
  9. Yeah I was on the team, no we didnt finish. Once the third mission set, it was set at +4 with everyone being level 47 or something stupid. We decided to all relog, the tank and a troller didnt come back, and no one was interested in completing. We talked **** on you for like a minute and then went our different ways. No biggie, it happens. Next time you get an itf going with 4 trollers (or any same at) already you should give people a heads up, we could have ran an all(most) troller tf.
  10. I currently have forge 3 slotted with recharges. Im planning to 6 slot it with gaussians.

Heat exhaustion is currently 5 slotted, 3 rech and 2 acc. I have been contemplating dropping an end reduction in there but I havent yet because warmth is truely the end hog, and extra slots are hard to macgyver on my build.

melt armor is currently slotted the same as HE, and Im going to 6 slot it with 4 analyze weakness and 2 rech reductions.

    Thank you for your time.
That coming from someone who tries to be different just to be different, is really funny. Oh and did your eyes burn out from the mids and IO use?
  12. To be completely correct, no its not possible solo because the defense cap is waaaay in the 100's. Softcapped D and max resistances are still not possible because resistance IO set bonus's are near nonexistant. Granite, ElA, and Invuln should be closest to it.

On second thought, maybe a corr/fender would have a bit easier time capping resistances, since their caps are lower...A group of 3 maybe?

If you have the same dough, you can get much greater mileage out of it using other secondaries.
Gonna have to explain that one to me...

And I never said EA is fine as is, I said with IO's its not the total crap set people make it out to be. Its also very softcap friendly for bargaineers.
  14. Just because you have some personal vendetta against mids doesnt mean we have to go along with it. People use mids because it is easy, and you are asking us to do something for you, that we do not do for ourselves. Good luck.

Also, DP is pretty freakin easy to perma. You would know if you put some time into your own toons before telling us to do the work for you.

PvP in this game is nothing like PvE. The devs pay little attention to it. There is little balance in pvp, the good pvp sets are THAT much better. That is why all the pvp guys sound like broken records.
  15. Simply adding damage to WH doesnt address the second of the major concerns with EM. As far as I can tell, the major concerns are low aoe and attacks that are too slow. Giving WH a slight buff in the damage department will definately pick the sets aoe damage up, but without reducing ET's animation time you will still have the issue of having two too long powers. I dont want TF to become thunderstrike, and I definately dont want similar treatment to ET. But as it stands, we have two situational big hitters, but both those big hitters are even more situational than big hitters in other sets because they take so long to animate. If you are playing an SM toon, you know when you are using Seismic smash on guys and you can choose to use it fairly easily because it has no drawbacks. With ET and TF, its a question of "is this damage wasted" every time. If it takes lowering the damage to get ET on an animation thats under/at 2 seconds, then so be it. I dont think you will have many complaints.

As far as TA goes, fixing OSA will go a long way because people will just be excited to get on their trickers again. However, TA needs help. Its an all debuff set that has pretty weak powers. My major fixes would be increasing the radius of disruption arrow, or possibly adding a small mag stun/disorient/hold to it, So it functions similar to poison trap. As it stands, we use two powers to do less -resistance than similar sets get in one power. Glue arrow needs its -rech buffed a small degree. And poison gas arrow could use a buff to its -damage component. It would be nice to have some direction with TA. I dont know what the set is supposed to be good at. All we know is its an all debuff set with 0 buffs that gets outdebuffed by mixed sets.

EDIT: forgot to add in AOE radius increase for acid arrow to at LEAST 15. It is weaker than other sets similar powers yet it has a concentrated small aoe? ye-NO!

Since softcapped defense is way better than 35-40% defense that's the biggest factor in a defense set's power level. That doesn't make Energy Aura bad, it's just not as good as other defense sets once you IO them out.
I swear this is like, opposite. It is relatively easy to softcap s/l/en/ne on an EA toon. Ide say its probly cheaper than softcapping all three pos. on a shield. EA is good once you add in IO's, but without them its just missing the utilities to be as hardy as other sets.

    REVELATION:

Level matters...damn and I came into this thread with my fury bar maxed out ready to rage...

Well Im gonna use this time now to call shennanigans on the level req. Theres not enough low level sf's and merit tasks for there to be a level req on the merit system. Plus it makes no sense conceptually for this chick to offer me the goods when Im a lowbie and then when I come back to her, stronger than before, she denys me? WTF is that? Doesnt she realize I could just smash her?

Yeah I had checked for myself and now they seem to be showing the same. I had noticed it a couple days ago under melee damage on the blueside merit vendors list. Just looked at the vendors in skyway (Im pretty sure it was the one next to the green line where I first noticed it) and they are showing normal now...

K this is really weird because I wasnt the only person who noticed this...

Does blueside really have blatantly more recipes available through the merit vendors than redside? Because that would make absolutely 0 sense to me considering redside has much less people/a quarter of the bm activity. If they were actually given equal oportunities to choose specific recipes it may* help out the struggling BM. At least it will definitely give us a way of getting recipes that arent selling on the bm/arent selling for reasonable prices.

    Farm Builds.

Ide take fences and BL over oblit on any toon I could fit them and support their end usage on. Fences isnt a cone, its a 10 yard aoe.

When talking about Mu lightning and gloom, I always go with concept because they are both good powers and look great.

Maybe because we don't have the inf to work with IOs, or we want more for certain specialized builds we are planning? I have plans (sort of) to perma-dom a Fire/fire dom, and I certainly don't have the infamy to do this, so I'd be farming with a MM who is mostly running SOs...And is this somehow wrong?
Absolutely not. I wasnt asking that to the general public, I was asking fire_minded why HE is farming. He is pretty outspoken about not useing IO's, and if someone isnt going to use IO's, I would expect them not to use Hami-O's, and if you aint going for those, where is the large amounts of inf going to? Whats it for? Im curious because I dont come across expensive stuff in this game outside of IO's.

    Ill be farming with a Fire/EM Blaster, and a Spines/Invln Scrapper.Neither will be IO'd.
Ok maybe we have different views on what farming is, but Im not doing the same exact mission over and over unless Im running it on at LEAST +0/x6 without dieing. More realistically, x8. Good luck doing that with your SO'd blaster...

Have you ever noticed normal IO's give larger percentage boosts than SO's post lvl 30?

What are you farming for anyways? Why do you need to farm for infamy if you only rock SO's?
  23. RabidBrian

    Farm Builds.

Brute, tank, or scrap with Super strength, elec melee, or fire. Secondary being fire, shield, or wp.

I "farm" with my sonic/storm corr and fort all the time though. My suggestion is pick a toon that is hardy enough to survive so its not frusterating, but that you are willing to play for the hours of farming you want to do. Im still efficient with my toons so whatever.

Remembering that you dont rock IO's, go with willpower, a MM, or a /kin.

Wait, why are you farming if you dont rock IO's?

Energy aura with io's is a beast. You get to build up a set that starts out consisting mainly of positional defense. How can that suck?

The problem with EA is its not very brutey. Why a brute set got a stealth power and no taunt aura is beyond me. Its like giving dominators/trollers a fury bar.

If you have the dough, EA can be made into a titan, but throwing money at EM is baby steps in comparison.
