... I read all this and was kind of saddened. I have met a few people interested in RP, but text spoke, as people learn to type that way and it is a hard habit to break. I tell them if they are interested to clean up their words a bit, first, but don't hide from them. If they want to RP, and truly do, be supportive. Explain things and maybe you'll add a new one to the ranks, even one that might be very good later on.

Don't snuff out people for just text-writing, at first. If they seem interested in whatever, explain and try to get them to break the habit first, and write properly, then maybe explain character development, and such. I admit, I may be biased versus people who speak that way, at first, but if they seem cool, why reject them because of a different dialect (As it might well become, sadly, in my opinion.)

Either way, I don't think being an *** about things is the way to make people feel welcome. tell them it's unacceptable, do constructive criticism, not just criticism of their character for their writing. Yes, yes, I may mispell things, typo, and may not capitilize well (Mainly because of I getting a new 'flat' keyboard and pressing the shift and holding it down for more than a second is new to me...), but I do not have my RP deminish because of it, least no one has ever told me I am a bad RPer, nor a bad teacher...

Try your best to be accepting and open. If you hate people typing that way, and they seem to want to be better at it, or heck, even if they DON'T seem to want to be better, be kind and make a suggestion, don't just go 'you talk like a noob, now boot!' and kick them or whatever.

P.S.

my Definition of Rp is 'Playing through another person's, whether real or imaginary, view.' It means that you take on their personality, and try to see through their eyes. What are their ideals? Do you see that? Can you play it out? How do they act in situation X or Y? Can you do that? Can you resist playing yourself while wearing the skin of another? It's fun to try and get the perspective of another, even if it is an imaginary person you thought up. Sure, you may home some of you in it, but try resisting making it you instead of that person, and see how things play out. ;p

I have to say, on topic. Before I did a freakshow farm and got only one or two drops of recipies 5, max, of salvage but inspirationsdropped like made. Recently I have been gettings about 5 recipies per mission, which makes more sense for the x8 setting. Just saying what I saw. Maybe they fixed it? Or maybe the whole time I as just getting bad luck.

Remember! With SSK, anyone can gain XP. AUsually if someone asks on my 30+ to join a 10-20 team i'll be like 'Heck yeah! Hook me up!' and noticed plenty do too. Just send a tell saying 'Doing x level missions. You will gain XP and get all your powers usable from level x+5'.

On Day One I leveled my blaster from 49 to 50 when exemplared and was so disappointed when I didn't ding. I wanted to have everyone know I did with the dingage, but no. It was the most quiet level to 50 I had... Saddened me.

Heh, oddly enough, that seems to be the general groups way of it, nowdays. A lot of the groups I used to be in fell into decadance, or just don't associate much with those outside the group, don't advertise, or are generally unknown throughout. It's kind of weird that I just started realizing.

Any other SG/VG requests for above characters? Would be helpful. If none else given in a week guess I'll have to search more myself.

I have decided to try and get into some RP SG/VGs on Virtue. I have 32 toons, most are part of my own Groups (Hero and Villain) but are just place holders for some good SG/VGs. Normally I try to RP my way into SG/VGs, but now it has been rather... lacking. I notice many RP SG/VGs, even ones I used to be a part of, are less in the open, or less open about what their SG/VGs are.

Now, I know there are SG and VG directories, yet it is a bit of a hassle to look through all of them, and neg rep me if you think I'm being lazy, I don't mind. But I am here to see how many are willing to read, and try to sell their SG/VG out to me! those show me they are at least somewhat active, have a part of their community in the forums, and can fit my Specs if they send me a message or a forum post. I will explain my own schedule, and frequency of availability online, and some requires OOC I need for the SG/VG. I will then give some discriptions of toons I want in an SG/VG and explain what they are looking for in an SG/VG.

First!
OOC Statistics:
Frequency Online: Usually I can be on everyday, and am. Sometimes friends bother me to play, but I don't want to have a 'don't log on in a week or we kick you' deal. had that and was juggling. Sometimes I forget to log onto a toon in a while.

Times On: Usually I get on at late nights. From 10pm to 3 or 4am Eastern. Also, I have some communities I do outside of CoX, such as D&D and Mutants and Masterminds online. I do those on the side, usually, so may be multitasking while I CoX, that bothers you, maybe I'm not for your SG/VG.

Fighting In-Game: Usually I do not enjoy text fighting of any kind, Prone to God-Moding. I prefer the Arena, but am pretty poor at true PvP. If I get dragged into text fighting, I usually RP out with the powers my character has, in a sense of Text-PvP mixed in game. I won't use powers that character doesn't have, and RP out in-game levels. If you are level 15 and fighting a level 50, there will be a chance, but your mezzes, damage and other powers will be less effective on the 50!

Notes: I am very sporadic, maybe I will get on every day, soemtimes I have IRL friends come and go, so sometimes I go missing for 2-4 days at a time, and come back, usually in a good mood.

There are some bits of information that may help if you need a certain type in your SG/VG.

Characters interested in SG/VGs at the time! (You can see images of these characters in my Sig)

Epilepsy: An Alternate dimension version of one (Technically two) of my Villains. She is not a native to this dimension but fits in fine. She is an expert at cybernetics but not much good at anything else. She can be a bit crude, but has her heart into helping people, even if she makes off color jokes. She has a place for cyborgs as she, herself, had to replace much of her body. She will always be there for a hero, or villain, that needs a better cybernetic replacement than they have. She would prefer an SG that is more Modern Age. She is not all gung-ho Heroes and tights and justice. She's more there to crush the villains and force them into submission. Not a fan of death, but she finds mutilation worse and if someone is suffering is not opposed to Euthanasia.

Lindworm: A Christian Mutant. he was raised as a good boy, and always has been. He has saint-like patience and nothing warms his heart more than seeing a villain turned around and fighting on the side of good to try and turn others. Always the one to speak first, to try and convince others into turning from their dark path before fighting. He is an old school D&D Nerd as well. He had taken up the game when it first came out, and is happy with the adaptations. Into roleplaying and into historic museums, he is kind of a geek for Romanticized Medieval Worlds. He would prefer a group that is of a fellow faith, or at least golden age heroes that look into trying to save even those they battle against.

Dragonblood Paragon: An 'ordinary' hero. She is a mix of mutation and magic, being that she is a Spellscale(Points for those that knows what that is). She is a paragon of blue Dragon Magic, and tries to keep her Hero and Civilian life separate. Just saying her mutation is cosmetic, with no power bonuses. She is always Analytic and calculating when first met, but can be a bit of a crude jokester about things of sex, religion and government, sometimes bordering on offensive. She would be interested in a more Silver Age group, or even Bronze Age. She can work with a general group or magic group. If they are mixed with people that follow Dragon Magic, all the more excited she'll be!

Dominating Presence: An Anti-Villain. A man who was tortured by a super soldier program after being part of the military. He saw his government for how it was and came away. He tries, now, to dismantle the establishment, in order to establish a better order. He recruits the poor, the hungry, the ill, anyone who wants better, into his own 'Company' of 'Soldiers'. He would look for like minded people. People who care about the people under the government, and willing to do anything to get them better benefits. He would steal from big companies, steal food and even kill CEOs or Politicians to ensure those under his care are taken well care of.

Golden Gadgeteer: A Stock Broker who goes Mercenary for the thrill. He works as a Hero, to make sure he gets good deals. He doesn't like the idea of shady doings, figuring he would get ripped off, or in more trouble. He would love to join a group of Thrill-Seekers, unfortunately he's about fifty years old so the hip young SGs are out for him! He would be better for a more Modern or Bronze age SG.

Frost Shade Draken: A Frost Shade. He does not know he is dead, and refuses the idea he is. His refusal the only reason he is still alive after dying in the snow-capped mountains. How did he get to the Isles? Who knows. He works to help people that are kind to him. Any VG would work for him, as long as the members are nice and kind to him.

Feral Frost: An Inventor. Only 16, emancipated and had created a suit meant to freeze speedsters. He hates the speeding buggers with a passion, as his mother was murdered by a mutant with super human speed. As a way for revenge he dedicated his use of technology to slow them to his own level. He is most willing to join an anti-mutant or anti-super SG, but would love people with the technological slant he has. He is willing to listen, but always has a short fuse for people who don't have to 'earn' their powers, whether through training, technology or genetic know-how.

Phoenixheart: A 54 year old woman who had used genetic research to find a temporary 'youth serum'. The serum only works on a very very small part of the population, she a part of. The serum gives her youthful 24 body back, though for only 2-4 hours a day, along with the bonus of nigh invulnerability, and has used it for months to train in combat. She helps heroes now and has the idles of the heroes of her youth 'Truth and Justice for all!'. She wants to work to stop villains, be flashy, be punny, and be willing to give others a second chance. Give her a True Golden Age SG and she will be happy as she can be!

And those are the ones looking, others might be, but for now that is it! If anyone cares and reads this then thinks 'That person would be good for the SG/VG I'm in or am building!' send me a PM OR just reply in this forum, as you could get support for your SG/VG, as well as advertise it for others! How nice is that?

Short Answer: Yes.

Long Answer: I have killed off THREE of my characters, the highest as level 41, Then a 35, then a 27.

The 41 was an Etoile Loyalist. A Soldier of Arachnos who fought bravely, and got insulted by anyone who worked against the good of the nature. He disliked Recluse and his Despotism, hated the Heroes who beleived anyone in the Isles, his Homeland that he was loyal to the end, was nothing but a breeding place for villains and terrorists. He worked as a guardian, and a savior for his country!

And people... HATED him for it. He would insult heroes who beleived his country, in and of itself, was evil. He hated soldiers who were loyal to Recluse, and not to the nation. He hated the villainous scum that tainted his land. He wanted everything to be better, and wanted to protect the country until Recluses reign finally ended, so he could stand proud in a land free from opression... But nay! Two villains had planted an ambush, one a freelance, one paid from Arachnos, and he was murdered, afetr exhausting himself fighting off a 'Longbow invasion'. It was an epic battle, but he died, the saddest part, no one knew. He just disappeared from the history books...

The 35 was a tragic hero. She grew more and more bitter as she was raised in the isles. Seeing people care less and less, and soon was put comatose by a fellow villain in her group as a way to gain more power. She was eventually murdered, two people taking her from her hospital bed as guise of hospital workers, and buried alive, she slowly dying.

This character, however, was revived through one of her allies after discovering where her body was buried, and brought her back through a hellpact. She is alive again, but even more of a fiery, angry, and hateful villain. No more a Tragic Hero, but a villain bent on insanity and the want of those that would even THINK of wronging her to suffer painfully and slowly.

The 27 was an ARROGANT punk. He beleived he was the greatest, no matter how many times he was beatten, and this pissed a lot of people off. He was such an annoying *******, seven people eventually came, ambushed him, and tore him limb from limb, finishing him off.

Those are my characters, and stories. It sucked I had to kill them, especially the permenant deletion of my level 41 Arachnos soldier, as I loved his playstyle, but that is what happens. No one has replaced him yet, and the 27, I am kind of afraid of making anothe rone like him for fear of them getting mutilated as well. The 35 was rerolled as a different class, as I deleted her at 35 and then was raised, and I started from scratch, not expecting her to be ressurected.

But there you go, my own characters, fun, huh?

The Default Redside Voltaic Sentinel is... Blue. The sparks around the hands are red, but when you summon it it's blue! ACK! I was annoyed, but used a quick fix by changing it close to the original color through power color changing. Known bug? If not, I can just submit it, asking here first, to not clog anything.

I have had a level 49 hit 50 in the sewers under the new SSK system! I Had her halfway to 50, and decided to go on sewer runs until she got to 50, three runs later she hit fifty! Sadly, when exemped it gives no 'ding' no 'level buff' nor even a 'you have reached level 50!' in the rewards window, so my word is all you have (Unless one of the people with me during then shows up and credits me...). Either way, WOOT! Level 50 exemped in a sewers team! I still have a SS of the point I hit it.

I am SOOOO confusings!

Note to people talking about losing XP in MA: They only lowered/removed XP for higher than boss(Elite Boss/AVs) only missions, and have 25% for one class(Minion, Lieutenant, Boss), 50% for two and full for all three. AKA, MA will still be an alternate leveling, but you won't be able to boss or lieutenant farm for XP, but can do regular content (With all Minion/Lieutenant/Boss) with no penalty.

Yes, yes, odd thing to bring up, but I have finished reading all my Discworld novels and felt for something new and/or different... Okay, still in the fantasy realm.

Anyways, I am looking for some books where draconic characters are the protagonists of the stories. Or at least have a huge role, meaning, at least 1/3 OR MORE of the book focuses on them and their role through their position. AKA, the dragon COULD be the antagonist, but I don't want him/her to be in the darkness and just have rumors surround him/her. I want the feeling!

Also, another small requirement is, please, Dear God, suggest one where they are not pets or akin to horses. I have never been a fan of the Pern books, so something like that, please, don't suggest. And, sorry if I seem picky, but here are some books I have read akin to something I am interested in: Dragon of the Lost Sea, The Fire Within, and The Enchanted Forest Series.

Remembering then, I realize most are more like children’s books, but I had fun with them. I would not be opposed at all to something MUCH more actiony or full of drama. Of course, the main thing is that the dragon has a personality of some kind that you love, hate, love to hate or hate to love. It can be a villain, a hero, or something mixed into the story for some reason, but not a pet-like creature.

P.S. I posted here since this is the forums of my server, and know many creative/cool people are here and... it wouldn't fit anywhere else in the CoH board, since the only General Discussion is for things CoH-y.

I would honestly enjoy adding the EU servers to the US, or visa versa as it's the same dang thing. I have been trying to work on my German and would love to join Zefukt(Was that it?) with some side characters as a way to practice. i mean heck, what's better than immersing yourself in a different culture of a game you love to get those language skills flowing?

Ah, either way, I doubt it would happen, but I think it be nice for everyone, in my opinion.

I'm just surprised people complain about not getting a team... What server were you on? I was on Virtue and other than using AE to get my 45 Brute, who has been stuck there forever, to 48 I had been on a LRSF, not to mention got several pacted toons, at least, four levels in mid 20s, and even one of them up to 33.

I just don't see where all these 'There's no teams!' whines are coming from. You either don't form your own teams, so whine about not getting one, or just don't know how to search for one...

Yeah, many seem to share your sentiment. Most I have seen seem to care more about Traps and Poison. I have yet to see anyone else say "i wantz mah thermal" like I have. I'll be vocal about it when people ask, but I will still suck it up when I don't get it. When I see the announcement that Thermal Radiatio is coming expect me to jump up and down with a "HURRAY!" Until then, you folks have fun with your Defender Proliferations. ;p

I doubt that defenders or controllers will get Poison, since the big wigs said they would have to revamp the set like they did for villains with pain domination.

I am reatly disappointed Defenders didn't get Thermal Radiation this round coming. I have been hoping for it for Defenders, so I can get the set's higher powers quicker, mainly, since proliferation was announced. I can stand Traps as a secondary, but Thermal not so much, plus I had ideas for it...

Odd I could have sworn it had + damage. I assumed it was because of lack of build up option, and the devs gave it as a small 'here ya go'. Maybe I'm mixed up, sorry if I am, but going to check more things, because I could have SWORN it had SOME +damage...
