Quote:Okay, with that advice I tried to fit in weave, and get the steadfast unique in. I was able to break 45% Def to s/l, but lost one of my holds (The one that takes forever to go off) and my second tier. I decided to drop Ice Bolt, as it does, about, half as much damage as Ice Blast and only recharges a second faster. With this build, it also has only a few seconds off perma hasten. Granted the Defense powers and Hasten have to have level 50 enhancements, but I can deal with that.First thing that jumps out is that you're missing a steadfast unique; hoarfrost can take one if you can come up with one more slot from somewhere.
ed: alternatively just pick stuff to drop and go with weave. With as much recharge as you are building for I bet you can get away with dropping some attacks.

Quote:What I did (Or rather am doing) for my Rad/Fire is become an AoE monster. I'll toss up my build to show what I am planning. She's level 32, so far, but OMG can she drag hate, I grabbed toughness to try to... keep from dying so fast. This build is what I originally planned. And I dropped Super Speed for Toughness. Most of my 50's are mostly melee scrappers and was lookin for some help with a Rad/Fire blaster. Like what powers to skip and slotting advice. Thanks for any and all help.

I was wondering if some of you Forumites could help. I have a Ice/Ice/Ice blaster that I am deciding I may IO out. I want to get to the Slashing/Lethal cap but am having trouble, as I also want some decent Recharge, if not perma hasten. (I know it won't happen but can dream). This is as close as I could get for both the wants, if I have to sacrifice some recharge to reach the soft-cap I don't mind.

-
Okay, after a few days... in honesty, folks. I love this game and the community. Most of you all are cool guys and gals, but lately I've noticed folks getting whinier than usual, and got on my wits end and made this satire of the 'idiocy' I saw at the time. I was amused at the responses, and I got addicted to that stupid Robot Unicorn Attack for a day and got creeped out by the guy in a costume, and had a laugh all around. You all, keep being cool!
-
-
All right, I'll wait until tomorrow to see if it's fixed by then.
-
I have been trying to upload or make a new page for a new(er) character and it just gives errors.
"Sorry! We could not process your edit due to a loss of session data. Please try again. If it still doesn't work, try logging out and logging back in." For saving a page.
"The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file name. Please check whether you really want to upload this file." For trying to upload.
Does anyone know the problem? -
I know of one of my friends who would LOVE a powerset like this. I think the Tier 9 is a little TOO dangerous, however. Could do a Targetted AoE Nuke, that's like the normal nukes. Reduce endurance to 0 and all.
-
I demand the Devs stop being silly willies and get their little patooties together. I mean, how long does it take to get a rainbow unicorn power set!? I mean it's not that hard! Just make a quadrupedal skeleton and make every power a giant rainbow unicorn called Mr. Honeymuffins run down the enemies and insta-kill everything.
After all, nothing can survive the power of the rainbow unicorn. And as such a loyal member since the year 18-diggity-two, I think I deserve as such. And what's with them not talking about that latest sporting event? They KNOW they're going to be there! They should know the scores, and have a personal video tape to show all the loyal players. But not you, you're ugly... you know who you are!
Also, why don't I get doughnuts delivered straight to my house with a big 'thank you' edible licorice sticker on the basket? This is a slap in the face to us loyal players. Except for you, you're allergic to wheat. Haha! Sucks to be you!
So, if all us loyal players (and by that, meaning me) don't get these demands I am totally walking the plank into the ocean of MMOs where I will surely drown, because of how bad everything else is in comparison (I mean, why else would I be so loyal! We all know I'm selfish). And how would that be on your conscience!? Huh!?
With Love,
Me! <3 -
Look to the title, that's the question. After playing through a Posi, and through the arcs on red and blue side. I was wondering... Will be be able to get Simulacrums or Doppelgangers eventually, for our own story arcs? I mean it seems like an interesting idea, and may have a few ideas that involve an old project with some new materials, if anyone knows what I mean.
With Love,
Me! <3 -

Quote:I'll try the newer driver, then. I'll inform you how things go, after I install and test it.The Legacy Driver 10.2 may not have the same isses as the current model 10.2, but I don't have a card old enough to test that on. The most current Legacy Driver before the 10.2 was the 9.11 driver released in November of 2009.
-
Quote:Well there are 10.2 drivers available for your card: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...-Bit%20Edition I think they are newer than what you have.
You might also look for the ATI Hotkey Poller service and disable it. It has been reported to cause input delay issues for some folks.
I thought the 10.2 had issues with CoX why I didn't update to 10.2. And I already disabled the ATI Hotkey Poller after seeing people had trouble with it in Open Beta.
I don't think the x1xxx series has 10.4 available to it, or it didn't list it when I checked the drivers earlier. -
I have been having problems since I17 has come out and I tried to just grit and bear it while I could, but I just am getting a lot less fun out of the game, now while running missions and such, even solo. The game will rubber band, or have an input delay of 2-5 seconds on powers or interacting with objects. It is playable, but takes twice as long to finish missions and objectives due to these problems. I am going to see if anyone here can see a problem with my connection or system.
I will post my CoHHelper down, further. I know my graphics driver is out of date by, almost, a year, but I checked on the ATI site and there doesn't seem to be a newer driver for my graphics card. if I overlooked something, someone can post a direct link and it would be a great help.

Hey, folks. I posted I was looking for an RPSG for a specific character this time. I decided to downsize my dedicated characters, in-game, as I realized I always stretch myself thin, when I RP, usually actively RPing 6+ characters at one time, and that degrades my quality in RP, and makes me lose touch with SGs. Since summer came along, I got more time, and I am sure other people do, as well, I am trying to find an SG for a character based on my favorite PnP character I made a long time ago.
I originally posted something in the SG section of the forums, but doesn't seem as active as I'd hoped, no replies in three days, and only, about, 60 views, I am posting here to redirect there, in hopes that I will get more people to be aware of my desires. I am hoping this doesn'tbreak the cross-posting rules as I am describing the situation, and then posting the link to the original thread. You may reply here, or there, if you wish, or just send me a PM with your pitch, if you wish, I am fine with any of those.

Quote:Want me to make a separate topic to debate an dto show my explainations for all? XDI see one flaw with this. Mostly in the fact that you're using it in the subtext of the easy to work around magic origin.
POW BAM KAPLOW!
*Looks down* OH! Look at this! He dropped some DNA! I will now injest this mutant DNA so I can enhance my abilities!
OR
*Looks at hand* Oh! Look at this! I got some of that freaks hair stuck between my fingers! Hmmm...I'll make a weave out of it! It'll enhance my abiltiies!
-
Not at all. In the example of enhancements for Magic, as described, an Amulet is a Dual Origin enhancement that is used to hasten recharge time. It could easily be dropped by someone using it. (See: Magic origin Enemy Groups.) As for the Grey thing, Grey, Hermes and Joule are spirits that are attuned to Magic in the game. These are seen as either rituals (That eventually wear off, hence the decay of enhancements) or just a blessing of said spirit during the time required. As said before the blessing could be passed off to another or could be accepted, same as information for the ritual. So it's not really 'fanwank that loses the meaning of enhancements as present in game', but rather how they ARE presented in game. Read the descriptions of some of the enhancements if you have doubt.
-
Quote:I just see invention origins as more open ended. Instead of depending on natural changes, or allowing someone else to trust to make the things YOU require, you make them yourself. After all, you know your body better... Or hope someone else can make somethign tailored to you. Why inventions don't expire, they were tailored to you.
Oh absolutely. Both instances agree with the existence of enhancements from a lore perspective.
The invention system is a bit strange though. The IOs & their names make sense...but the process, as Agonus illustrated, does not.
Quote:So no, you don't play by the rules as enhancements are what you buy from a store unless you buy the things from a store which allow you to create them yourself. Of course you can always punch a mage and pick up the enhancement he bought from someone on a street corner.
Ah, the joys of people that don't live up to the standards they demand from others.

Okay, I will explain my position. I have trouble getting on more than twice a week, in game, and the game has gotten tedious for me at times because I am an RPer at heart. I joined this game for the RP community and I want to experience more, but have lost faith lately.
As for why things didn't work out for the groups, I will go down the list and explain things for you with the Teen Phalanx. This was about a year ago, and maybe the way things work changed over the time.
1) Concept: My character was a mutant. She was shy, to begin with, and felt herself unfit as a hero, or even as a person. She had low self esteem and only had the way around a bow, from her archery training with her father, and 'bouts of random mutation. (I beleived I used Devices for her, the devices being internal things. Glob of mucus that contained sticky material, Skin able to produce a color changing mucus to cause her to blend into the back ground, etc.) She was a low self-esteem hero, that eventually felt her need to become a leader in times of need due to outside RP, because I couldn't get into the group RPs they had for the SG. (She became more confident, but was still afraid of leaders chastising her, or, even, people being mad with her.) But she never got the chance to really interact with the group, much. Eventually left that group, for a group she found about that interacted with her more. She was, by no means, overpowered, and I took the stance of, she is as powerful as she is in-game. (AKA, she never even fought anyone but once and was captured. And when asked for help by the group she was in, didn't care, but the other group actually did something to help.)
2) Time: Back when I was in them, I was on nearly every day. I was on anywhere between 4pm to 1am on weekdays, longer on weekends, so time wasn't really that big a deal back then. Now it is a problem, but I don't think time available to invest was a problem. Whenever the SG-members called for a team, I would ask, and they would be doing something, either, out of my level, or were full before I even got a chance to respond. I managed to get on a few, but, playing a quiet character at first, she would look to the higher rank to do what she would and always would be polite to anyone. The few times she was addressed directly, she was surprised, but was happy for the attention, despite she not feeling very worthy.
3) RP Style: I understand, but my character was a tights-wearing hero in a, general, group of tights wearing hero. Never was it brought up for Inspirations, Influence, or the like. I prefer PvP over Text fighting, but I conformed to the groups. I am not an idiot, or anti-social enough to not know I would not fit in with a group if I don't bend my own ideals a bit (Like real life!). I never use 'BRB, LOL' and the such, ever, in RP and I NEVER use 'LoL' at all. And I will ask, is my typing here that horrible that someone would refuse RP with me? Because this is how I have typed for years, IC and OOC (Heck, since I joined CoX, since I did Chat Room RP in Yahoo before they were closed down, and you needed some typing proficiency to get anywhere there.)
Quote:See, I've been on the other end of this, and it bothers -me- when I give new members several options to interact with us like forums, prime activity times, and even OOC channels. And then the new player doesn't take advantage of any other RP opportunities I've offered them. And then they show up once every other week or so and complain that they feel left out because no one's interacting with them or they don't know what's going on.
I'll be honest, I do not get your mentality. Being in a RP group is a 2-way relationship. It's hard for us to RP with you if you don't put that much effort into RPing with us.
Quote:I've seen this as well. A player will say, I miss out on everything, and we'll tell them to come on over and jump in. At which point they'll say they can't for whatever reason...helping another SG/VG out, helping friends out, farming, getting some levels.
Also the players who once they hit 50, abandon the toon and make a new one to RP. In a mod-heavy RP SG, that doesn't always work out as well (which may be why some people make multiples of their toon...which I understand completely).
So, you are implying I do not care to give from the group, or take? Because that is the feeling I am getting from the original post within these quotes. I will be honest, I am not a fan of Forums, I don't like having to reference outside of the game to get information, but there are plenty of unscheduled things that groups I have been in have dealt with, and because of those it makes it harder to get in, sinc eyou can't try to 'reserve' a spot. The Millennium Paladins did everything from the forums. If it wasn't scheduled, it was just, like, a fun IC/OOC mission run. It was easier, unfortunately I could barely get involved with their RP sessions due to, well, I had a wednesday club and that's when they had them at time time. (Not to self: try to apply with them again they were amazing.)
And also, tell me of the group you're in here I can feel welcome right away, and maybe I will look into it. As I said, all of my characters have, basically, lost all affiliations due to the lack of that two road. When I was in a group, I would get involved in an out-group RP where my character would ask for help and they wouldn't help either, no-one. Should I not even do that? If I can't get in on the group's RP, and am in an RP out of the group, should I not request help from the group? I don't even get what I'm doing wrong at points, so any enlighting speeches?

Being an *** ends a thread? If that were true we'd never get past page 1. In game, i never would have found the RP SGs easily. I had to use resources outside of game to find almost all of the ones I listed.

I've seen less, as well. I have been trying to find an SG that doesn't demand all my time (Or even me to get on once a week as sometimes I'm just too busy, but some have strict 'need to be on' times that I just can't swing.) I have been on CoX for, a little past three years, and I found out if I do find a rather casual group of RPers they ostrocise the new people, which bothers me. I joined three groups since I made a post in the Virtue Boards, and asked where RP groups would be. I joined some with a few characters, had little time, but got in, and if I wasn't part of thier forum, or there every other day for an RP session I got left in the dust. People didn't give a damn about my character and I, eventually, had to leave because I did not feel welcome.
I KNOW there are plenty. I have discussed with people, I have joined some groups, but I get the general feeling I have in other MMOs, when a group has been going on for a while. There's 'the main heroes' and then 'the stand off cast'. I am one that seems to be resigned to be the one of the Wonder Twins in the Justice Leagues of CoX. You never really get appreciated, and it makes RPing less fun, because when you suggest something, people either ignore it, or push it away because you're not a 'regular'.
Over the years, I finally decided to have all my characters be 'unaffiliated'. I never join SG/VGs anymore. WhY? Because if you join one, you get less respect than if you find yourself in an SG/VG dispute from the outside, and then help/harm the heroes for your own selfless/selfishness rather than the 'good of the group'. I'm not saying to not keep looking for them, just saying my own poor times with SG/VGs, recently.
(Groups was in but didn't work out: Mellenium Paladins, The Youth League, Paragonian knights, United Sentinels of America, The Teen Phalanx, All Star Teen Sentinels, Gods of the Golden Age, Guardians of the Golden Age, The Young Rogues, Dauntless Reverie, Blackweb, Abandoned Warehouse. Those I remember, red/blue side, that I eventually quit due to feeling a bit unwelcome in the end. I know Most (If not all) of the groups are still around.) -
You can press alt and a serious of numberpad keystrokes to get them done ╠ = alt+2252 for an example. If you can find the alt-keystroke combination for the arabic alphabet can do so that way... or do a translation program and copy/past into the keybind.

Edit: here's the site with the key codes(This is basic characters not all of them, just to help with examples.): http://www.irongeek.com/alt-numpad-a...and-chart.html
To Copy/paste without right click press ctrl+c for copy and ctrl+v for past, if you have PC. -
Wow, and now I'm sad. I had an Ice Control/Cold Domination Controller just for movement slows...

Quote:My mistake. I haven't read Genisis in a few years, so knew I screwed something up somewhere. That's not biblically accurate. Adam and Eve had sons and daughters (Genesis 3:4). The sons would have married their sisters and nieces. Cain is mentioned specifically as having a wife, the others are assumed since there was male and female offspring and the daughters are kinda glossed over.
Still incest, but not parent/child.
