True, but those can be unlocked by any level (Except the TFC one and the Vanguard, of course), however, these COSTUME CHANGE EMOTES are locked by max level? But the new trail auras? Auras? and Emotes? Are NOT Seems a bit backwards.
Edit: It's not so much it's gated, it's that it's gated when per character, rather than per account like the rest in the same situation. -
I decided to take a look at the I-Merit unlockables, and had seen everyone saying ALL were unlocked globally. When browsing through I found that costume-change emotes are unlocked PER CHARACTER! What? Is this a typo, or very true? Why are all other costume/emote pieces unlockable for all but not these?

Admittedly the first post confused me greatly, but I held my tongue and watched, seeing if there was going to be any reasoning from the OP about it. He gave it and it does get one thinking(Or, at least, me.) If you don't mind me asking TheHangedMan, is this actually some kind of social experiment you were trying? Was it just something you did for the heck of it? Is there a deeper reasoning?

Awesome. That has me excited to try it, now, then. I am still sad at the -4 levels part if unslotted, but I am tempted to do it JUST to see if I can get a group to run through it successfully for the glory of saying 'Our team did it under the debuff'.

I am curious as well. i have not played it and my internet connection has been neutered thanks to one of my house-mates refusing to only download an MMO when they are asleep, so If my download and thiers goes concurrently we're talking about 10KB/sec, if that. I won't be doing the open beta this time because of this, if they actually make it out on Tuesday, I'll just wait, download it on live and try.
That doesn't, however, keep me from wondering if this is true. It seems kind of... weird to make you -4 for not slotting the power, it seems kind of cruel and unusual. You're still an 'incarnate' now with the slot so why are you debuffed for that? It doesn't make sense at all for me, but, then again, I may be known a bit for my confusion by now.
Either way, I wish to know of the challenge rating of this, both with and without the debuff in way of Lord Recluse Strike forces. One a scale of difficulty being the same as a Recluse Strike Force or a multiple of it. How many Recluse Strike Force Difficulties are we talking about in the Apex and Tin Mage ones? -

Sadly I have found RP to be lacking. The only server that RPs in the open is Virtue, but even then it is hard to find outside of Pocket D. The best bet is to find a group you can squeeze into as I have been trying to get resituated in RP, but since the game is old, so are many circles, and it has been exceedingly difficult to intigrate into any SGs I have found and been interested in.
Of the 5 I have joined recently (Within the last year) I have been able to get a head in one and been able to enjoy the events, the RP and the group, but it was a brand new SG. Three of the others were too involved in a plot, already, I have been unable to get involved, due to not knowing what was going on and no one willing to inform me. One I even tried to ignore the plot and be an event organizer (TFs specifically) And only managed to run one of the three TFs I had planned, as everyone was too involved in other things. The last Sg I just joined, not too long ago, and haven't seen many on, so it's still in the air.
This is just my experiences, but from what I have seen, RP is still around, but it is shattered. It is hard to get a plot going outside of an SG, and even in an Sg, if you arn't known in the circles in those SGs, it's probably going to be very hard, unless it's a new SG. Your Milage May Vary, but I have been very unlucky in the department of statistics concerning RP, lately.

Quote:What about when you asked someone what time it is? never said, "Thank you for the time?" *Being a smart-*** here* XDYour time. YOUR. Thank you for YOUR time. I've never heard anybody say "Thank you for the time." Maybe, and I mean MAYBE "Thank you for the time we spent together working on that home made cow chucker" or possibly "Thank you for the time of my life I never knew duct tape could hold that much weight."
But by itself? NO. I've had enough. Take it out. I'll do anything you ask, just make it stop.
Whew, I feel better. That's been bugging me for a while. -
Haha! Nevermind I found out the problem. it turns out, for some reason, my screen reset to a widescreen mode, and since mine is a square monitor it caused cutoff.
-
There's also how at different levels it's different too. my level 50 blaster has no problems, my level 24 has to think. A scrapper is a scrapper but my level 50, level 36 and level 19 plays vastly different against the same mobs. It's really fun, I agree. XD
-
I have taken to calling the low level counsil 'Interns' it's spread amongst my friends. It is common enough and not a big problem as it's usually one, if that, in an entire mission.

Quote:You don't need either badge for it. You just go to the contact. You could be a Loyalist and go to the reporter dude for the wardens (Forget his name) or be a Resistance and go to Interrogator Washington and do his missions undercover. Just need to know where they are. And you already have Provost Marchand or Calvin Scott in your contacts so can just call them when it notes when to speak with them.In order to go undercover, you must have both the Loyalist and Resistance badges. As mentioned above, you get one by completing (or bypassing) the tutorial, and the other by switching sides in one of the Solo missions at the end of an arc chain.
It doesn't matter which side you're currently on when you want to go undercover. If a Resistance contact gives you the option, call Provost Marchand after accepting the mission, before entering it. If a Loyalist offers it, call Calvin Scott. You'll be given a different set of objectives if you accept the mission they offer; it's much like choosing one of the two objectives on a Tip mission.
Note: I mean you will have them in your contacts list as appropriate for the side you want to be undercover for. -
Skipped the last page, will go back and read it, later. All I want to say is PvP became less fun with I13 because it made the mechanics differ than what I am used to. I am used to one way of play and do not want to lean another way, because, with DR, Heal Decay, Inherit AT Resistance, etc, it makes it veyr different, even if you have the same powers in PvE. I still PvP and one of my characters picks fights for the hell of it like she used to before the I13 changes. Yes, she will fight (An Elec/Kin/Mu Curroptor), in PvP and win, or lose, she will have had fun. That's her character. She teases and heckles someone, then will be thier bestest friend after she obtained a few bruises from them. And seeing the one poster say those that pick fights in Arena just to pick fights are poor RPers is a bit poor form. You can have your character be a smart ***, and then RPvP and it can be fun overall, I've had it happen plenty. (Also had a few people, ICly, degrade her wanted to fight, but she usually just laughed, called them names and move on, because that's just how she is.)
Also, one BIG change that made me dislike it is the travel suppression of Teleport. I had three character I regularly RP'd with it and in RPvP, they would lose one of thier main powers, and it irks me to no end. -
I prefer RPvP over any textfighting myself, but the changes have done too much. My Ice-Ice Blaster was great in PvP, even un-Io'd out, but thanks to the changes the slow sdon't do anything. I work my way around the poor chnges, and I still love my characters and prefer to settle things in PvP thank in Textfighting.
I'd love to have an organization or several that focuses on PvP, though I wish the old PvP were back.
Edit: I hate Diminishing Returns, it ruined PvP a lot for me... Just my opinion, irregardless of RPing. -
Quote:Okay, thanks, I was thinking of Freedom Corps the whole time, then, not Hero Corps.Technically, the heroes are members of Freedom Corps, which Statesman formed to counterbalance the Heroes for Hire aspect of Hero Corps. Freedom Corps gives the initial contacts, so in a sense they facilitate heroes by giving them a network to call on to find heroic deeds. Longbow happens to be a militaristic division of Freedom Corps ran by Ms. Liberty.
Though technically, all heroes are covered under the Citizen Crime Fighting Act, which allows people to arrest criminals as long as they follow the same restrictions as Police Officers. -
Hear me out, I am crazy, but ideas come and they might, or might not, be good... For now I was thinking of if there was an SG or VG or, potentially, both, for Praetorians that leave and come to Primal Earth. I mean, think of the culture shock, whether someone was originally born in Praetoria, whether or not they agree with Cole or the Resistance, or whether they, mostly, lived in the wilds surviving against the DE...
If no one made such a group, I was considering making one to get Praetorians (And Allies, as some may be prejudice against them and it would be appreciative to see others that want to help make them comfortable, as well as be useful guides to the new world.) involved and consolidated... If they wanted.
What do you people think? -
Quote:This is why I like to say things, even if it makes me look ignorant... Because I am! I thought Hero Corps was what you Registered with. Either way, is there a name for the group or is it just, over all, 'file these papers, here's your license' as if you had a driver's license type deal?Hero Corps is a for-profit superhero service. Neither the Freedom Phalanx (and their auxiliary Longbow) or our heroes are members of Hero Corps.
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Hero_Corps
Except for being members of Hero Corps, this is correct. -
Quote:Technically, Heroes are all a part of 'Hero Corps' an organization that legalized Super Powered Beings for using their powers. They are under the same logo as Longbow, if I remember correctly. Heroes have to get registered with Hero Corps and have their progress monitored by various well-known heroes in order to keep their registry. That is why you have a 'card' (Your I.D., where you have powers, Bio, Security Level, etc. is listed)....since when do heroes work for Longbow? The only references to it in the regular CoH contact missions I can think of are the clash with Vanguard and a brainwashed field trainer in one Indigo's mission.
All Heroes in Paragon (Or even the whole US, not even sure), are required to be registered or else they're 'vigilantes' which could go to jail for vigilanteism, as the real world. Essencially you're deputized by the city under the name of Hero Corps.
... At least that's how I always read it.

So you're saying I can have Elude on...

Quote:I have been getting the same, especially in Praetoria for Lowbies. My DP/EM and my Kin/SD has been missing an awful lot. I watch the combat window and it shows a lot of bad luck, and when I expect the streakbreaker to kick in, it doesn't. (Being 1 miss for 95%, 2 for 80-90%, I think, 4 or 5 for 70-80%, etc.) I do think there might be some kind of problem in the system. Or me, and two other friends, plus you, are having REALLY bad luck.I love this game, and having a blast, but this can just no longer be ignored. I'm posting this after a couple hours, yet again, of whiffing quite a bit with a "95% chance" to hit, while getting eat up by mobs with 55 - 60% chance to hit that hardly ever miss.
I'm all for this being a "perception" thing as some people are so quick to suggest when someone brings up an issue about the game, but I don't think that's the case. I seriously think these to hit rolls are railroaded and/or tampered with.
One of you forum cartel fanboi's give me some game prozac in the form of convoluted, math-laden jibberish to make me think it's all in my head, please.
Game on! -

Quote:Yes? And if she told you, but you were still going to be a loyalist she would have done just as Washington says. She would have lied and looked to White to get he rout of a bad situation. She is an idiot, she is a sociopath that says she is a part of the Wardens as a shield for if you are part of the resistance. Any loyalist would not take her, she would be just as bad as the rest of them, worse, even for specifically trying to get YOU killed. And even Scott says that what she did was out of line and if you were a part of the Resistance, then you could either keep her as an inside woman to try and do the same she tried to do to you, disobeying Scott, or do what Scott tells you as duty mixed in vengeance of what she did. When you're fighting an evil dictatorship, you don't just tell one of the stormtroopers of the dictatorship that you're actually working against the dictatorship
Don't forget that to her, you're just another loyalist to be manipulated to help the Resistance, and then gotten rid of - and as far as you know, she's also just another loyalist contact who is genuinely working for the dictatorship - if you're working for the Resistance, then you're no more likely to tell her that than you are to tell Marauder, or any other loyalist.
Neither you - or her - are going to say "by the way, I'm secretly working for the Resistance, and I kinda hope you are too, or this is going to get a bit awkward"
It's a great arc for showing how difficult it is in Praetoria - it's hard to find out who knows what, and who's helping who, and what the real motivations of people are.
Cleo was wrong, flat out, in how she handled the situation and if you can defend her just because she has the 'Resistance' brand to her, then you are blind to the situation and how people really think, rather than metagaming the knowledge and going 'she's with the 'good guys' so what if she tried to have my character murdered after she 'finished' with me, it was CLEARLY the RIGHt thing to DO to MURDER someone that HELPPED the whole time. Who could potentially be a very strong ALLY.
