VO:
We present I'm sorry, I haven't a blue. The antidote to Superhero MMO games. At the piano is DJ Zero and your chairman is Rockjaw.
ROCKJAW:
Hello, you join us this week in Independence Port, a fine city zone boasting a long and fascinating history. IP owes much to it's maritime heritage. By the 14th century the city was already trading with Spain, Portugal and Iceland with ships returning with fine wine, intricate lace work and frozen peas.
In the 18th Century Independence Port was the hub for industrial transportation. Barges, toed by horses would take supplies up and down the coastline and in to the city. They were later changed to steam power when it was discovered that so many of the horses drowned.
Earnst McGlider, the famous scientist, invented the fizzy drink here by forcing large quantities of Carbon Dioxide gass in to water. He gave it to many friends who trumpeted his achievements around the city.
Independence Port was also the home to drug addled rocker Rick Dangerous. Rick was the front man for the heavy metal group Daft Leper before starting out on a successful solo career. So Rick, if you're listening, that's who you are.
IP is also known for it's compliment of wild Cuckoos, track by the Cuckoo Society who have there base in the north part of the city. It's actually a branch of Icon but whenever they go out to lunch they come back to find that the Cuckoo Society has moved in.
And speaking of unwanted visitors trying to get something for nothing... lets meat the teams.
To my left is Ghost Widow and Lord Recluse and to my right is Sister Psyche and Statesman.
And carefully positioning her comfortable seat on my left hand and preparing herself for some hot scoring action, please welcome the ever fragrant, delightful Avatea.

Is that from the 1996 JLE Stratford Revision, Quin? If we're allowing rules from that, then I play Liverpool Street, Central Line without adhering to the Gurnsey Speed Restriction Rules (c1984), inducing the Signal Fault cascade across the westbound line, 1 turn duration.

The 1996 Revision? No, I played Charing Cross under the 1987 revision that allows the double-strile move even with high LV on the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines. Unfortunatly, with no tokens on Moorgate, three tokens on Monument and the House of Lords currently out of session, the only legal move I can make here is...
Dollis Hill.

No, no, no... we're only allowed to talk about talking off-topic.

Do we have to do it without Repetition, Hesitation and Deviation as well?
Do we only have a minute?

Mornington Crescent!
Wait, wrong quiz show.

Are you intimating that Avatea's really Samantha?

is it a word association game?

I play Charing Cross, reversing the LV on the Central line and putting all the stations south of the river in knid. -

That was terrible -
Got my WS from 35 to 39, and my MM from 13 to 35. Not too shabby.

Interesting. Although i'm hoping people are at least creative with this [/blindoptimism]

2:21pm, Unity Vigil Tower
Eientei had been resting in his room in the Tower having completed his latest assignment against The Council when Edward made his little "information" broadcast.
"Have you finally snapped, Edward?" he said aloud to himself, "You cannot claim to dispense justice, when you don't seem to understand justice in the first place. BODI, I probably don't need to ask if you're tracing the source, but could you inform me if you locate anything?" -
Pretty sure it's a villain SG in the OP. "Illegal activities" would be par for the course, methinks.

Just remember the two vital RP mantras;
- IC does not equal OOC
- IC Actions = IC Consequences -
I believe the phrase is "Unpleasable Fanbase"

The skies above Paragon City
The effects of gravity and a rather painful descent to Terra Firma had been somewhat averted by the use of a handy Raptor Pack (Best Before: 2005). While he was still airborne, the sounds coming from the pack's thrusters was not particually promising.
Using the information provided by Sean, Quin found the giant structure in the sky below his position, and he manouvered into a position to land somehwhere on it's surface. The jets on the pack then chose this moment to suddenly cut out.
Realising that a teleportation from the outside to the inside would probably be rather risky in this situation (Plus, considering the results of the previous attempt), Quin had very little time to formulate a new plan. He turned midair to face the fortress, and created a thin magical barrier that could probably just about pierce the outer hull considering his current speed and momentum.
Somewhere inside the Fortess
Quin burst through the outer hull, and within a split second, used a very short range teleport spell to dramatically reduce his speed.
"One dramatic entry, served with a side order of magic."
((You can choose where I end up, Drade)) -
I would find this addition very useful for the two characters I use most frequently, particually for my WS.
-
"I don't think this should be difficult..."
Quin turned around and snapped his fingers, vanishing in a flash of teleportation magic.
Somewhere above Paragon City
Quin appeared and assessed his surroundings and quickly discovered the lack of ground, or anything that could substitute for ground underneath him. "Okay, maybe it is a little tricky", he said aloud.
Then, gravity took hold. -
I might be able to go on the 22nd, but I'm going to be very busy on the 23rd though, so it would be a day trip. Doesn't look like a bad trip by train from Portsmouth (3 hours 20 minutes), so i'll think about it.

*Blinks at the recent changes log*
Bloody hell. -
I've been thinking about a few of my own characters;
The only thing I can think of that's a little OTT on Quinsisdos is the fact his magical source can cause minor temporal effects, but I like to use this to explain how he moves fast (SS+Teleport), attacks fast (Hasten) and in a convuluted way, how his MA/ stuff disorients (Unsyncing a person's stomach by a few seconds to make them feel sick through Temporal Nausea). The fact it's merged with his central nervous system also gives him his /Regen stuff.
But since magic is magic, I've usually given Quin some leeway when it comes to learning simple (i.e. non-offensive) utility spells in addition to his array of standard attack powers. One I recall early in Quin's RP career was using ice charms of Eastern design to cool his feet.
In the grand scheme of things though, this makes him pretty killable, and would be pretty hard done by without the Mediport system, although I suppose I could Deus Ex Machina the effects of the magic source under stress performing a minor timeline re-write that keeps him alive.
Keeping options open on development anyway.
Eientei is...interesting, mostly because we have to deal with low amounts of lore with regards to Kheldians before they came to Earth (Outside the fact that Nictus are teh evils). The power to manipulate negative energy (Or whatever shadowy stuff Nictus use) gives a reasonable amount of leeway with how he can act in RP situations.
I've usually made reference to the fact that he can survive without food and sleep, because the background energy he absorbs is usually enough to keep him fighting fit, similar to photosynthesis. His barriers can probably stop a few bullets, and i'm sure he's pretty strong for a human, despite Warshades not getting any melee attacks.
Shoot him with a Quantum Array Gun though...
Danmaku is obstensibly based on danmaku shooters, although the biggest inspiration was probably the Touhou Project. I'm half tempted to write some sort of "hitbox" enchantment into his backstory, where he contains a single solitary weakspot, which if hit, will cripple him (Requiring a mediport), but anything else will glance off. In this instance, the health bar we see as part of the game simply reflects his ability to dodge, and when it runs out, the next hit does him in.
So if you see him at the statue, don't hit him in the liver, he'll probably keel over almost immediatly.
Speaking of the Touhou Project, there's a good example of how immortality is treated. When facing down Fujiwara no Mokou, it's implied that she is killed each time you deplete her life bar (She has 9 or so), but her immortaility from drinking the Hourai Elixir (Elixir of Life) allows her to continue fighting. When you deplete her final bar, she simply concedes that you are stronger, and she doesn't want to die any more, because apparantly, it still hurts like [censored].
This would only apply to immortals who are immortal in soul, but not immortal in body (i.e: Indestructable). Simply place them in an unescapible situation and "kill" them over and over until they do what you want.
That's me done, don't ever let me post at 2am ever again, I tend to ramble. -
I've encountered the same-faction-enemies-killing-each-other bug a couple of times. Makes for interesting missioning.
-
Quinsisdos was next to arrive through the base teleporter, wearing his Vanguard issued suit sans helmet. He glanced around the currently assembled crowd and took one of the spare seats.
Unfortunatly, his height prevented him from resting his feet on the table. -
Quinsisdos - A name i've used across the interwebs. The backstory I eventually wrote for this character when I started RPing with it was adapted from an unfinished plot I had left over from a FFXI RP character. The fun part is seeing how many people remember the spelling
Danmaku - See here
Eientei - A location in Imperishable Night, I liked the name partly because of the location's reality bending nature, and partly due to the lunatics that live in it. -
