I would say possible, however i think of it maybe in terms of like learning to ride a bike. You have a kid that is trying to keep his balance and dad or mom is running behind him holding on to the back of the seat. They let go and he takes off thinking right off the bat "Im doing it, im doing it" only to go maybe 20 feet and realize he has lost his balance and isnt doing it afterall.

I took clarks comments more like that. Like he lept off the top of that cab and on his way up was like "Im flying" only as he traveled to realize he was just milking off the force of his leap and wasnt actually flying afterall.

I can see it go both ways, but i fail to see a reasoning for him to say that "for a moment" kinda comment if the intention was to have that be his first solo flight. I picture it more as a tease that "haha made you look" the series has been doing for years.

Also i think the scene in Ravenclaw where Harry and Luna are under the cloak and the carrows come in and hit McGonocal(SP?) the way its written when harry uncloaks and the proffessor is stuned and amazed to see him I could just see the actress portraying that when i was reading it. And then her speach to slughorn about Silthern having to finally make a decision about where they stand....

The last book was i think more then any other written with the actors and actresses and their sublties in mind when writing.

The books have never really gone to far into the idea of a wizarding duel for fighting accept for the spells. The movies expanded more on it i think with the use of kinda stunning spells in combination with defense and other things like expeleriamus and such. However I really dont want to see harry and voldemort going at it like they did at the end of OotP with dumbledore. Harry shouldnt be a match for voldemort in that way. What harry has going for him should be the plans set in motion by dumbledore that brings to a head the final confrontation where it all comes down to one spell. And the back and forth at the end of the book between dumbledore and harry and later harry and V. sets that final one strike in motion IMO perfectly. Its more of a circling and taunting and trying to bring a situation to a head more then an outright duel.

But basicly anyone else is only truely dangerous because they are aligned to voldemort. They have shown in the books trials and so forth that have delt with voldemorts followers that were hunted down after his previous rise to power.

And i loved the duel between H and V in the book, i would like to see it word for word in the movie. It wasnt the final strike IMO that made the end of the book it was the interaction between the two before the final strike.

There is so much to hate on without the need to make things up.
Im sorry what did i make up?

Yes i guess i blanked out the fates helmet idea, but perhaps just because its once again such a contrived plot device to make sure that the writers dont have to do any writing or plot development. Lets just drop a helmet flash into the game. Oh lets have his dad pop into the scene with no explaination as to why this is the first time in the 4 years since he died he bothered to come back and counsel clark.

And lets be honest, if at the end of last season you didnt think..."hey just pull the knife out, he heals and all is good" then frankly your probably to busy having to conentrate on your mouth breathing to really understand why this episode overall did absolutely NOTHING concerning all the press and leading up to "This season were letting lose" that was pretty much the mantra of all publicity since comic-con. This episode was no more special or deficeit in its value then any other episode of the last 3 seasons.

As opposed to who? People that watch the show to busy stroking their junk at Lois or probably more likely the the promise of flight, blue and red suits and "Stepping up" to see that this premire of absolutely nothing more or less then the show has ever giving us. Which is really empty promises and hints of satisfaction that they never deliver on?

I watched it i was just not impressed by it.

No he said something like "For a moment i felt like i was flying" indicating to me that he was recognizing the idea he DIDNT actually fly just had the sensation of doing it.

I had a "Defeat 5 Destroyers" mission and tried to jump a Big Dog. I had him down to about 33% HP after chasing him all over his tether zone in the park in Imperial City. He hit his range cap and went unhittable, regenned everything, and walked back to his starting point, from which he proceeded to Hurl a boulder at me.

I can handle the tethering (going unhittable and walking back to starting position). It's annoying as hell but I can cope.

But the fact that they get 100% HP back and aren't losing aggro on you is just ridiculous!

Please, for the love of Bob, FIX THIS. Either that or rip one or BOTH of these mechanisms out of the damn game.

I should NOT be having to jump on grey-conning mobs just because I can't insta-kill anything else before this run away-tether crap kicks in.

I understand that you want to prevent griefing from dragging mobs into areas populated by people who may not be ready to handle them. However, I think the situation and it's frequency are vastly exaggerated. Leaving this setup as a solution in search of a problem.
Is that what tethering was intended to prevent?

OMG then just get rid of it. How big of a problem is that anyway, especially with agro caps in the game, and most zones have people super sidekicked in them now anyway. Just about every zone has some type of area that is a safe zone, if nothing else park yourself in the AE building whenyou afk or just stand around.

If tethering stays in place for NPCs then i want it for my characters as well. If i roam x feet from where i start a fight, i get to be untouchable and get all my HPs restored. Sound fair, whats good for the goose.,...
  10. 3 weeks if there is soemthing new to it, but being we havent heard of anything new planned im guessing were talking same old same old, in which case 2 weeks is to long to have no sunlight in the game.
  11. So yet another totally anticlimatic season open to yet what was another totally predictable season finally.

Did anyone not seriously see "Just pull the knife out and he heals" coming from a mile away? I guess well just skip the idea that a human falling for the distance he did wouldnt have simply bounced on the ground and landed, but would be total street pizza, and have exploded probably over a 20 square foot area. Oh and i liked the touch of being a totally raining night so we get wet lois boobs, but the sun coming out in like 20 seconds oh be its still pouring down rain......

Really the only good part of this episode was Lois tied to the rack in the feild, for obvious reasons.

Otherwise, we get Chloe giving her self up to who knows how and how she even knows who we have no idea. We get a pretty crappy and out of character speech from jorel about how clark is not living up to his potenial when he is probably attempting to more now then ever before. We get a soppy reuinion with Pa kent, which I guess was probably one of the better parts of the show, but we get no explaination as to why is pa can come and go to council clark he hasnt done so in the last 4 years. We for the I lost count time get clark looking like he is flying only later to say he wasnt and just jumped. Oh and again when you question to physics of it, i would imagine that the speed needed to launch yourself off the ground and to keep momentum in order to reach the roof after you caught the globe would have likely broken the globe apart in mid air and showered the peices down on the people on the ground.... oh who once again stood there watching a big *** globe fall on top of them instead of running away.

And to top it all off we got one glimps of dark side who basicly looked like he should have been in one of those crappy 3d animated tranformers cartoons rather then a evening action show. Seriously that shot made doomsday from the other season look like ILM quality effects and i thought doomsday was just barely a step above a Rita monster from Power rangers.

Oh well 21 more episodes to go.

Dont get your hopes up a 2 hour season finally with Dark Seid will be a about 45 seconds of fight time and 1:59:15 of clark discussing the fight ahead of time.

Im so glad this is the last season. Even though its improved its still not as good as it should be able to be. but since i have watched it all this time i cant bail out on it now. Its like the xfiles or something for me.

Well im pretty sure its been longer then that since they added those zones of construction in steel canyon and port oaks and never did anything with them.
  15. I say Drago wins. It didnt take long for Rocky to tire out Clubber in the ring and it seems if he didnt put you down fast that he got tired fast.

That being said Drago is so big and strong i dont think Clubber could finish him off fast enough and basicly by round 5-6 would just be out of steam completely.

Currently I have a Farming Blaster, but my biggest killer are Stuns, Holds, and Sleeps. With the Psionic Epic, i prevent it permanently. With the addition of Psionic Defense/Resist and Link Minds being Permanent.
Earth quake is a knock down not knock back, so they dont move they just flop in place and between there inability to attack and the debuff if they do, it could open the door to a much cheaper build to not have to slot so many kinetic combat sets for the defense.

I know everyone gets fired up for defense, but really aside from an AV i find that controling a subject is much more effective and absolute then relying on a to hit roll of any kind.

With your recharge rate, volcanic gases will be near perma, as will stalagmites, so really with a bit of quicksands and EQ to fill in a gap here or there, then figure your in melee range likely with PSW which adds some stuns, it seems kinda overkill to worry about the cost of slotting for defense IMO. Also i dont get teh need for aid self. Psi has a regen boosting power that is more then adequate to keep your health going for you with no worry about interupts.

Because that doesn't happen I'm not going to take Combustion, it seems.

Consume on the other hand seems really nice because two SOs is enough to make the +recovery part perma and I only need to hit 5 enemies for it to equal Stamina. I was thinking that Consume + Domination would do the trick, but I could just as well resort to Stamina. Back to tinkering with Mid's...
Thing is really whats your ultimate goal. My earth/fire is perma domd, so really i barely ever need or use consume in that build since im getting a new dom bar every 90 seconds anyway. Couple that with the eventual stamina going inherent and frankly i think consume is going to be a waste of a power slot even if it only takes 2 slots. Frankly though if i remember right, it does take more then 2 slots since it does damage it has a tohit roll to it, so when you get higher level and are fighting +2s and 3s, even with some decent -def in the set you are probably going to want some accuracy slotted in it as well as end mods.

People bag on the PBAOE but i really liked it. But then again being perma i have VGs basicly with only a 7 second or so down time so between that and stalagmites i can basicly stand freely in the middle of a mob and really let that power work for me.

Just also keep in mind if your going perma you might need to look at taking powers you might not normally want because the bonuses to the sets work better for you then others.

Sorry, but it's the buyers that make prices. By being willing to pay that much for it for whatever reasons. If they pay x-ty millions for it, it is obviously worth that much to them.

Its not like you NEED the stuff that is that expensive. You just WANT it. As does a lot of players so noone will just give it away for free. But Noone forces anybody to buy it.

(Yes, some things have very low drop rates. And if everybody wants exactly that, the price goes up. 'Those evil sellers!' I keep reading, as if they were a different set of players that somehow have magical access to rare stuff that the 'buyers' dont. Everyone is free to try getting more of those rare things to increase the supply (for good money to trade it for other rare stuff even), but if people don't want to do that, or something is that rare that all good attempts don't work, then it will cost a lot and neither the sellers nor the market are to blame for it.
After all, why should someone spend all that time to get rare stuff and then give it away for token money to those who don't want to spend that time but want the rewards regardless? Doesn't sound very fair to me.

Personally I never NEEDED anything I couldn't get for 100K in a week or two. If I WANT something epic that everybody wants, to add another little mosaic piece to my character, I work for it. And happily look forward to it.)

    That said,

I agree that giving good tips is a good thing. And I try to help when I am asked or see someone has problems with something. But how can you explain things to someone you never see because they spend their entire time in AE missions?
This was kinda my point in this conversation to the original posters complaint of XP in the AE. The xp shouldnt be removed because of this reason. Reward are avialible through ticket rolls that are not avialible through means of standard mission drops. Now we can all complain all we want about farming, but farming is a mainstay in any MMO. There was farming in this game well before the AE and it would remain in the game well after if XP was to be removed. Yet everyone assumes that the only point to wanting to use the AE to level would be to farm or power level. What if as a vet player that has really seen it all and done it all multiple times i just choose to level a character through the AE because i wanted the tickets? I dont want to power level, i dont want to farm one mission over and over, im actually working the stories and arcs and playing a character to level. Im just doing it though as a means to earn tickets and take my rolls because i would rather level a character with a chance to get the TF roll recipies that are not avialible off normal mission drops.

We got off on a tangent due to discussing the market and cost, but the AE is and should be considered a alternate leveling format including xp for this, if no other reason. With multiple level 50s but limited play time I could have more opprotunities to earn worthwhile drops off ticket rolls then i ever would if i cant find time or teams to run TFs while leveling a new toon through the AE rather then the open world missions. And that should remain a viable alternative to players. There is no reason for it not to. Sure complain about Ae babies all you want, but before that there were wolf babies, dreck babies, winter lord babies, etc. There is no reason to think or conjecture that simply removing the AE xp will ever solve the problem the original poster is wanting solved. And no reason to think it can be solved save from removing all xp have leveling be time progessive to time in game so <playtime>=<level progress> and im pretty sure no one will be in favor of a change like that.

    DEP issues??

Ok so i guess back with Service pack 2 windows xp started this thing called "Data Execution Prevention" service. It went without problems that i noticed for some time, but recently and i dont know what prompted it it started popping up with some issues.

Like it prevents my torrent client from working properly, or at all really, which isnt a huge issue i guess but i do use it from time to time to keep my DVR more cleaned up.

But i also notice it alot when i go to Gametrailers.com and go to view a video it pops up an issue and closes IE, and also it prevents a new web based sony online game from launching in IE as well.

I have tired telling it to ignore these programs, it doesnt seem to work, im just wondering is there a way to turn it off completely or a fix anyone more tech savey then myself has heard of for dealing with it?

Time works for both sides. The difference, in general, favors buyers. People are a lot more likely to list stuff for 1 inf than to offer 2 billion for it; there's a lot of people who want inventory space freed up and don't care much about a "small" amount of money, and not that many who have hundreds of millions to blow on stupid stuff.
It doesnt matter how much inventory space you want freed up, no one is going to post a 50 million influ recipe for 5 million unless they are simply to lazy to click the find button and see the last few sales. And before they listed it to sell for 1 infl they would sell it to a vendor for 10k.

Yes someone might post common crop on the markets simply to work toward a badge, but none of the signature pieces that are actually in demand are selling for 10 percent of the going value.

And even if you have bid like 20m for an appoc purple piece and gotten it, i have also, and waited like 4 weeks checking every day seeing atleast one sell for 200+ million while i waited. Just because 1 person has lucked out doesnt meant he system is flawless or is working properly in asigning true value to the items purchased.
  22. I liked the second half of the episode (or the second episode really) more then the first half. I didnt recall the domino squads history in the series, so maybe if i had remembered it it would be more significant when watching it.

You can say what you want about the series being "clone wars" rather then an old republic or any of the other complaints, but they IMO have seriously gone outside the box in making a television series that has definate appeal to all the generations of fans, and i think is probably better produced then most of the animated "kids" shows on the market these days.
  23. Its kinda funny i dont have a problem with them at all. Yes damage could be nicer, but i think its ok for what it is, and when you consider you have two of them doing damage rather then say the stone pet, jack, plant, grav all only having one pet. So when you figure power recharge times and such really you double those damage numbers and compare them to the sets with only one pet i am betting they are comparable as to DPS, it just feels weaker since they are not always going to be attacking the same target to see a major drop in HPs in chunks like other pets.

So to multi agro, i also dont feel its to bad of an issue, with 2 AOE controls on short relative timers and soft control from fences i dont have that big of an issue. My norm on facing close mobs is to drop the confuse before i agro anything, let it spread, then drop the sleep under the second close mob and fence them in place.

Not true. Since many items have limited drop rates, all a seller has to do is place the item on the market at prettymuch the price point he wants to sell it at, and wait. Time is the great evening factor for a seller. Sure many of those that bid fair prices might get some drops, but when that history says that many of the good drops sell for say 60 million but have 1-2 mixed in at 80 or 90 million that means that someone somewhere is willing to spend alot more then really is or should be bid for that item.

Ill tell you right now if i get a purple drop or a LOTG or something like that, I look at the history and put it down for about 20 percent over what thehighest bid is, andit sells in about a week without fail. So sure the seller has to be willing to buy it for that price, but I wont say its a fair system by any means. Now if those same recipies in some form were avialible in game at a set price, then the market is controled by no one will spend more then that on that recipie on the market then they can buy it at a store for. Much like now common recipies can be bought at a crafting station, so basicly it sets a limit on the markets to their value.

IMO the market should be a means to reap extra profits for the seller (buy way of saying an orange recipie is worth 10k selling to a vendor but more on the market) but shouldnt be nailing the buyers in the rear end. (buy way that so much is not avialible any other way there is no upper limit to prices)

For instance if a LOTG process was avialible in game from a vendor for say 50 million inf. A vendor buys it for 10k, It means if a seller is lucky enough to get one, he can make much more profit off using the market to sell it to someone in need, but that someone wont get totally ***** by way of having no ceiling at which the item is sold. Personally i think being able to make an extra 20-30 million over the vendor purchase value is more then fair.
