  1. A few nitpicks:

Dispersion Bubble doesn't protect against sleep. It does protect aganst Psionic damage, but this is a relatively recent change.

Detention Field does not take Phase Extension enhancements. Note that it can't be properly chained on a target since the target can't be phased out while phased out. (Read it twice, it really does make sense.)

Force Bubble hasn't had -ACC since beta. Ignore what the planners say, they're wrong.

Atomic Blast doesn't disorient and hasn't for some time. It *does* cut your end recovery and drain all your end if you hit with it. Be warned that unless you're quick with a blue, your status protection is going down.

Maneuvers is actually more useful with FF than with other defender sets, because of the way defense stacking works. That said, Maneuvers is ~3% defense base so it's not the end of the world. The defense scaling changes in I7 may make Maneuvers relevant, YMMV.
  2. I had no idea... that's just brilliant. Thanks!

You can slot a Hami-O in *any power* that uses *any portion* of the attributes....Microfilaments can be put in just about ANY power due to the End Redux portion of the Hami-O.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, but since HOs were reduced so that each component was equal to an SO, anything using only 1 component is a waste and inefficient since you can easily slot a 50++ SO version of that component instead. Back when HOs were 1.5x the bonus of an SO it was a differen ballgame, but no longer. The point of the listing is to show where HOs can be used efficiently, i.e. to boost 2-3 aspects of a power rather than just 1.

Also, the dam/acc in resist stuff was proved during CoV beta; I believe it's the reason MMs can't slot pets for damres. It's also the reason for the newly-minted "end modification" SO.
  4. Audacity is free, can edit your MP3/.wav file and can output a .wav, but be warned that it chews up a lot of hard drive space in the process. For simple conversion, what the kitty said.
  5. Under Lysosome, you currently have
    [ QUOTE ]
-Defender/Controller - Radiation - Irradiate, Neutron Bomb, Radiation Infection (uses 2 of 3)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This should read
    -Defender/Controller - Radiation Emission - Radiation Infection (uses 2 of 3)
-Defender - Radiation Blast - Neutrino Bolt, X-ray Beam, Irradiate, Electron Haze, Proton Volley, Cosmic Burst, Neutron Bomb, Atomic Blast
  6. Force Field (Defender/Controller), APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender)

Nucleolus Exposure - Damage and Accuracy:
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Force Bolt (note that damage is *very* low, sub-Brawl)
APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender) - Dominate

Centriole Exposure - Damage and Range:
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Force Bolt (note that damage is *very* low, sub-Brawl)
APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender) - Dominate

Ribosome Exposure - Increase Damage Resistance and Endurance Reduction:
APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender) - Mind Over Body
(Personal Force Field gives unehanceable damage resistance, so a Ribosome can be slotted. It shouldn't be effective.)

Microfilament Exposure – Travel Speed Increase (Run, Fly, and Jump) plus Endurance Reduction:
Golgi Exposure - Heal and Endurance Reduction:
    None

Peroxisome Exposure - Damage and Mez: (ie: Hold, sleep, stun, etc .. but NOT knockback)
APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender) - Dominate

Endoplasm Exposure - Accuracy and Mez: (ie: Hold, sleep, stun, etc .. but NOT knockback)
    -Defender/Controller - Force Field - Repulsion Bomb (acc + a small disorient)
APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender) - Dominate
APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender) - Mass Hypnosis

Lysosome Exposure - Increase ToHit and Defense Debuffs, and Increases Accuracy:
    None

Enzyme Exposure - Increase ToHit and Defense Debuffs, and Endurance Reduction:
Under current bugs, can function as a Cytoskeleton in FF powers to the best of my knowledge.

Membrane Exposure - Increase ToHit and Defense Buffs, and Increase Attack Rate:
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Personal Force Field
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Deflection Shield (note: very fast recharge already)
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Insulation Shield (note: very fast recharge already)
    -Defender/Controller - Force Field - Dispersion Bubble

Cytoskeleton Exposure - Increase ToHit and Defense Buffs, and Endurance Reduction:
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Personal Force Field
    -Defender/Controller - Force Field - Deflection Shield
    -Defender/Controller - Force Field - Insulation Shield
    -Defender/Controller - Force Field - Dispersion Bubble

    Powers with no useful HO:
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Detention Field (foe intangibility does not count as mez)
    -Defender/Controller - Force Field - Repulsion Field
-Defender/Controller - Force Field - Force Bubble (Force Bubble does not have -ACC and has not for over a year now.)
APP - Psychic Mastery (Defender) - Telekinesis

    Hope that helps.

Everyone [on the Mito team] must either fly, or join a team with group fly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not true, Liberty does just fine with Inertial Reduction. PA team is a different story, of course.
  8. Also, Giant Monsters always con purple regardless of level and have a scaling property that makes them semi-dangerous even to high level characters. (Semi-dangerous because higher level characters typically have more defenses that apply against a givemt giant monster.)
  9. Sorry, when I posted that Hasten actually did have a 5% defense bonus... and I was specifically doing an analysis for FF defenders, for whom the extra defense was very useful. (All this was pre-global defense nerf and pre-ED.) Now, like the man said, 3 recharge SOs are all you need.

Amazing how much things have changed in not even a year.
  10. No MLJ? I'm disappointed.

Seriously, good work. Your chart matches up nicely with my thoughts on the Golden Age. If you have the character lists in some postable format, could you post them?

    A Guide to Lag

    Server coasts are as follows:
East: Freedom, Pinnacle, Liberty, Infinity, Victory, Triumph
West: Justice, Virtue, Guardian, Protector, Champion, Training Room

You can tell when one coast or the other is having problems from the server status page; every other line will list as down.

And on a more technical note: Cable and DSL users may want to try to restrict other use of their connections while playing. Excessive upload speed can "choke" your connection, so try to cap your uploading at roughly 3/4 of your maximum upload speed; excessive download speed can have a similar effect, but most connections allow for much greater download speeds so this is generally less of a problem. Obviously, test your setup to see what works for you.

It should be fixed for good, assuming we stop adding code...

    [/ QUOTE ]

So a week or 2, then?

Seriously, good work. And thanks for explaining the actual issue, that provides a sort-of occasional workaround (target someone else with your AOE) till the patch comes out.
  13. Very cool.

They probably mean mental illness, although it's easily argued that only the FIRST hit is a choice.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And there's a hostage mission early on where the rescued hostages tell you that the enemies (Skulls, I think) tried to force them to take Dyne. That's not a choice by any stretch of the imagination, and could easily be a regular MO for the Skulls and/or recruitment method for the Trolls.

Monkeywrencher : Well, there are Hercule Titans in Warburg. They travel in patrols, and are grapes (lvl 41). Could a team fight them, and force them to combine into Zeus? Maybe. To be tested.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, they can be Zeused, my regen scrapper tested this just a bit ago. Killing said +3 Zeus in a PVP zone is a bit trickier, though.

    Insulation Shield
Description: Basically a version of Deflection Shield that applies to Cold, Fire, Energy, and Negative Energy damage, as well as ranged damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Insulation Shield also protects against AOE and end drain, making it much more useful late in the game; the end drain protection is amazing vs Malta and Carnies.

    Accuracy

Thanks, WeirdBeard! I've been wondering about this since I first heard about the streakbreaker.
  18. Obviously I can only speak for myself, but I specifically ordered the preorder from EBGames.com, set up an instore pickup and didn't get my preorder box initially; the sales clerk believed that everything needed was in the main CoV box and specifically told me that it would get me into the preorder. Luckily I knew there were 2 different codes and when I only found one, went back and managed to get a preorder box. (This involved him calling the store manager at home. I can be rather... um... forceful when necessary.) They did *have* the preorder boxes and the store manager knew to give them out, but he apparently forgot to tell the staff about it. I have no idea how common a problem this is, but I doubt I'm the only one.

There are only two things that guides are generally used for. The base numbers of powers and some background information on NPC's.

I used mine for maps till Vidiot came along. Also handy for villain reistances. Not a good guide by any stretch of the imagination, but those 2 bits were useful. Hopefully the new guide will be more useful.

Didn't some HammiOs used to be 50%? I think so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, anything from Schedule A was 50%, anything from Schedule B was 30%. So, in effect, a 1.5xSO for each component, and it'll take 2 of them to cap out any 1 aspect of a power. (This ignores bugs. The travel Hammi-O was supposedly working at reduced values, no clue if it ever got fixed.)
  21. Description: Peacebringer high-pitched whine

[Note: This is the noise on the blasts and flight activation, not the shapeshifting "boom".]
  22. And don't forget, Halloween is coming... might be a good time to load up.

(Last year, it was night everywhere for all of Halloween weekend. It made for good spirit-hunting in Talos. Of course, things may be different this year since last year's factions hve Croatoa to fight over....)

if you mean they are spawning in missions that havn't yet been entered but previously the team had a Kheld then yes, it's a bug.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's what he means. My 36 BS/Regen scrapper just had a Void Seeker pop up. I had a Warshade on my team for the previous mission, but she left before I even called for this mish.
  24. Clockstopper: Babbage in Skyway counts, or did the last time I did Synapse. (Psychic Babbage does not, of course.)

Checkboxes: Your sheet's set up with 3 handy rows of checkboxes, is there any chance you could do the same for checkboxes in the Requiements section? My horde of alts thanks you in advance.

well this is depressing, their noting that really any use to my bubbler i mean i either waite a triple or get nothing with defense Buff/end

what we need is a powe r y power break down on hammy effectiveness...maybe ill make one since i dont see any use in geting them on pink

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Well, here's a few thoughts from a fellow FF/Rad.

DefBuf+End is wonderful for FF. Yeah, you waste the ToHitBuf, oh well. Going from 6 slots of def to 6 slots of def+end reduces the end cost of bubbles to 1/3 normal. If you slot an end normally, you get less "savings" but your bubbles are slightly more effective. [This is the Cytoskeleton enhancement.] Admittedly the various repels and knockbacks get no love. Feel free to slot a Nucleolus in Force Bolt to make the damage a hair less feeble, but keep in mind that knockback is not "mez" so Peroxisome and Endoplasm have no effect beyond a normal SO.

For /Rad, if you slot for debuff you can increase accuracy or reduce end cost [Lysosome and Enzyme respectively] in addition. You can always use the standard blaster-style acc+dam[Nucleolus] in anything, dam+range in Proton Volley or Electron Haze (remember, HO range includes cone length) [Centriole]. Cosmic Burst's disorient benefits greatly from added duration, and with dam+mez [Peroxisome] you don't have to give up damage to do it; there's even the option of acc+mez [Endoplasm] if you *really* want stun. Aim benefits from either of the ToHitBuf enhancements, with THB+DefBuf+Recharge [Membrane] probably more useful than THB+DefBuf+End [Cytoskeleton].

APPs have a few common threads for HO use. All have a resistance toggle, and getting resist+end [Ribosome] is hard to beat. Mez options were discussed above. Power Build Up works just like Aim for slotting. Conserve Power admittedly gains nothing.

Travel powers are straightforward once the travel bug is fixed. Slot to desired speed and enjoy your free bonus end redux [Microfilament]. Except for Teleport... but what can you do? Hasten profits greatly from Membrane, especially for an FF where a few extra % def can be very visible. Combat Jumping and Hover could go either the Microfilament route or the Cytoskeleton route, depending on whether you want speed or more defense. Pool attacks slot just like other attacks. Whirlwind gets nothing.

Concealment gets great use from Cytoskeleton, just like the FF primary. Phase Shift gets nothing... oh well.

Medicine is our chance to get some use out of Golgi, both in Aid Other and Aid Self.

Leadership's Tactics and Maneuvers gets good use from Cytoskeleton, and if you're one of the rare few who has Vengeance, you get to use all 3 parts of Cyto. Assault gets nothing, oh well.

Fighting's attacks slot just like every other attack, Tough takes Ribosomes and Weave takes Cytoskeletons (and Membranes if you see a need to improve recharge).

Presence appears to get nothing. I doubt Taunt counts as "mez", but Fear might. Anyone know for sure?

Fitness really does get nothing. Probably just as well, as if Fitness gained from HOs it would just increase the gap between the haves and the have-nots.
