  1. They stay in range anyway. The "wander" factor is gross over-emphasized.

    Nobody mentioned the "run away" behavior that still exists with CoF on occasion as a side-effect.

    If you take /Dark Mastery, Tenebrous Tentacles can provide a valuable immob as well.

    You are correct that CoF and ToF do stack, and if you're DM, thats of use. But that's only 1 Primary. OG stack better with Martial Arts, for instance.

  3. Put a SLOW or Immob on the disorient and the problem is solved.

    I'm a big Oppressive Gloom user, so I experience the issue as much as any other powerset, and its not that big a deal. Annoying, yes, occasionally painful, sure.

    Game-breaking, no.

    I'd rather see them implement the Faultline trial first, maybe with LUSCA trying to tear it down.

    Please let SUPERSPEED be one of those.

    The constant droning gets old after a while.

    Frankly, the entire set of looped sounds needs to fade out. Its not like I can't look at my icons to see what's running. I don't need to HEAR them.

    Yes, while you're at it can you put the new 'feature' of Headsplitter where it simply fires off without either hitting OR missing people that are running away, sideways, or in any direction that isn't right towards you?

    That's an old feature, actually. It was around first when the "hit running foes" code got put in.

    I like the new feature of Soaring Dragon / Disembowel. If you hit folks and they get Knocked Upwards, you can't hit them with your other attacks until they come back down (out of range). ESPECIALLY if you slot SD / Disembowel for Knockback, they're out of range for 1-2 seconds now.

    Why would I slot for Knockback again????? Oh yeah, cuz Statesmonkey thinks I should be more diverse.

    "the servers are ghost towns" and "subscriptions are always UP, UP, UP" are not mutually exclusive.

    OP could be playing at odd hours, or on a less-populated server, or folks are playing COV, or just HIDING from him because he's a jerk/idiot/noob/jackamuffin.

    Things can feel "deserted" when they're actually quite busy. Its a skill in interior design, why not game design?

  10. 5 or 6 slotted Hover was often used as a Combat Movement power after I4 (and the travel suppression that came with it)

    It

    1) was cheap
    2) offered some DEF
    3) offered KB/KD protection
    4) was fast enough for combat/indoor travel
    5) offered vertical mobility.

    I had Hover and SuperSpeed and they worked very well together.

    Now, Hover speeds are reduced to about 2/3 of their previous maximum. Its about 20mph, instead of 30mph.

    SPRINT is faster than HOVER can ever be, with ED in place.

    You cannot chase down a runner with HOVER in I6, making it far less useful for melee toons.

    In I6,

    Hover is

    1) cheap
    2) Offers a TINY SMIDGE of DEF
    3) Offers KB/KD protection
    4) Is NOT fast enough for combat/indoor movement
    5) Offers reduced vertical mobility

    I still have it, as it is one of my 2 options for KB/KD as a /DA scrapper.

    It was a "SLOT HEAVY GEM" of a power and now its just "A polished rock"

    It sure was nice when I could have 2 Phantasms at once. The "dual Torrents" were hell on packs of minions.

  14. I'm not sure what has afflicted LoreUndone, but if you're reading this thread with the intention of learning about DA in I5, please disregard his ramblings.

    DA was "nerfed least" in I5, IMO and as such, is now one of the top scrapper secondaries.

    It never was a bad as its reputation anyway, just expensive and a bit harder to use.

    While Screwloose isn't the only place to get DA opinions, he's on the money (as usual)

    All /RAD, All Controller SG built with I5 Containment Damage in mind.

    Requirements:

    1) Must be a Controller with /Rad secondary
    2) Must take AM / Hasten to have Perma-AM asap
    3) Must be willing/able to use our TeamSpeak server
    4) Must not be a worthless tool
    5) SG plays on Fridays only. Toon is played only in group

  16. AH, if you just got them, they're lvl 25s and thus, probably +3 already.

    Keep in mind that as they degrade, you'll slow down "a little", but not much.

  21. Stick enough Hami-Os into CoF, its as good as ever.

    Take Focused Accuracy to cover ACC needs, slot CoF for END and fear/Tohit Debuff, if you can spare the END.

    Sad part of the COF nerf is that it only hurts the folks from Lvl 28 to about 45. After that, Focused Accuracy, Conserve Power and potential of Hami-O enhancers completely erase the nerf.

    So, the very folks who were "abusing" CoF previously, still are. I use "abusing" as a term the devs were kicking around. I never perceived CoF as "abuse-able"

    I still have CoF in my newest respec, but I dropped from 6 to 4 slots. Took OG in addition.

    CoF isn't worthless, but its more situational and not as good as it was. You can still make an effective "scary scraptroller".

    I'm stuck in that same situation. The one I'm really steamed about is the Psychic Clockwork King. Absolutely no indication he was going to be there from the misison briefing and he is nasty as heck. He has a viscious PBAE psionic attack that basically wipes the entire group. Even the tank was shocked at getting one shot. I can't find anyone available with Psionic defense and what am I supposed to do while that person battles the King for me anyway. As regen scrapper even MoG is worthless against him. So the mission has sat there for several levels and I still can't clear it. Am I going to have to wait until cons green or grey to beat him?

    The real problem is that this was the only mission available from this contact and there is no warning about it. If I had known there was an AV I would have declined it so at least I could get a mission from someone else. And if and when I finally do clear this mission, what the heck is the next one going to be like from this contact?

    You should have been able to FIND someone playing a /DA scrapper, side-kick them and let them tank the ClockworkKing until he drops his Psychic Wail, then back out.

    /DA has a nice bag of tricks, PSI resist is only one of them.

    I wonder if its a bug, or if posts are getting deleted by MODS. I would hope that the MODs would at least let us know that a post was deleted, as they usually do, instead of just dumping it.

    One post I was going to reply to was GONE before I could finish replying.

    One of mine from earlier is gone too. It wasn't over-the-line, in my opinion. Maybe the mods disagreed. I did mention that if certain whiney, juvenile posters were my kids, they'd get spanked for talking like that to people.
