Quote:That'd be up to you really. What I consider fun may not be fun to you and vice versa. All I can suggest is to try some stuff out. Hit Ouroboros and run some arcs, run some SF's, or explore the non-farm AE missions. You're more likely to find something you consider fun by actually searching for yourself, rather than asking here.
whats some fun content endgame (higher than lvl 30) -
*le gasp!*
How did I miss this yesterday!?! Happy birthday!

My first consideration is always to get something that suits the theme I'm going for. With that said, some of my toons are just humorously named (such as my small army of rodents, heh), a few are names I've used in other games, and the rest generally come from friends suggestions, in particular one author friend that's always willing to pull out his naming lists (he keeps lists of possible first and last names for his books) and throw me a few ideas to mix and match.

Indeed. I'd say that of all the booster powers, that one is the most useful, and is probably almost worth the $10 on its own, heh. Personally though I'm not a fan of the costume bits from the Martial Arts booster (though I have used a few here and there) and much prefer the Magic and Cyborg boosters for their costume bits.

Quote:Definitely an entertaining suggestion Munki!Scrapper. What yall should do is race each other every single mission to see who can cause more destruction. IMO, that is the only reasonable choice.
In all seriousness though, my vote goes to a Kinetic, particularly a Sonic/Kin Corr or a Kin/Sonic Defender. Combine the damage increases granted by Fulcrum Shift and Siphon Power with the damage resistance debuffs of Sonic attacks and you'll be busting the damage cap with impunity. Toss in Speed Boost, Transfusion and Transference to keep the Brute going strong and fast, and it makes a pretty deadly duo.
Just my two bits though. -
Quote:This pretty much. Its all in the luck of the draw. Some days the roll chart just loves you, while others you may begin to wonder if the game just doesn't like you.
Random drops are random. -
The pre-download was about 670MB's, plus a little for things like today's patch (or I guess yesterday now XD ).

1. Not sure on this one. I believe you can only use a US key on the US client, and EU key on an EU client, though I may be mistaken.
2. My folder is 3.93GB's, but I believe a small portion of that is MA arcs and saved costumes. The launcher reads it as 3.7GB's, with GR installed.
3. I would, but I'm on the other side of pond. -
Quote:Ditto here, heh. Until this month I hadn't paid since midway through November of last year.My favorite way to get free time is the refer a friend option. =) 4 months so far. Do you r part, sell your soul to NC Soft and convince everyone and their mother to try CoH so you can get free game time!

Quote:Hmm, fair enough. I hadn't thought of it in similar terms, particularly taking into consideration having multiple characters working on earning them.I'm applying a couple conditions when I say that HV merits are fast.
1: I'm only looking at the reward/playtime metric. I can run the missions to get an HV merit in not much more than an hour total solo.
2: I'm considering an HV merit equivalent to approximately 100 reward merits.
3: I'm also assuming that a player would use more than one character to earn the HV merits, so the cooldown is less of a factor.
Considering those above conditions, HV merits can be obtained with less effort & time than an equivalent amount of reward merits (or AE tickets for that matter), and are therefore a better route to obtain rare recipes.
Buying straight off the market will always remain the best option though, in my opinion.
But yeah, I definitely agree that the Market would top the list regardless. -
I'm not sure H/V Merits could be considered fast unless you trade a lot of Reward Merits and Inf in to get extras. Otherwise, you can only earn one H/V merit per alignment cycle, which is just short of two days. Add to that the fact that you can only make one H/V Merit transaction in a 20 hour period as well, and it slows right down.
Markets and Tickets are probably the fastest, although obviously the Ticket rolls are random so you may not get what you want without rolling a whole lot of other stuff first. On the upside, you can turn around and sell the ones you don't want on the Market and use that Inf to buy the ones you do want. -
1000+? Wow, I've never had anything more than 50 or perhaps 60 show up, even when I know there's several hundred people on at the very least. There was always a notation at the bottom with something to the effect of "some results were filtered out", even when no additional search options were set. I guess there's an option somewhere that I've never noticed that may have been toggled on or off that removed that cap to end up with results like you had. If there is (or was), I guess that'd be the new thing for me to learn today, hehe.
EDIT: By the way, love your avatar! -
I think the search function has been capped like that for all the time I've been playing (2 1/2 years about). If there's any particular reason for it, I don't know it. With all the options available to search with though (by level, by AT, by zone, etc) it doesn't really hurt any, though if you're doing a thorough search it can take longer since you're stuck searching multiple times with different settings sometimes.

You may be better served to ask this on the Brute sub-forum (here).
That said, my personal favorites for both team and solo are SS/WP and SS/Invuln. But really, most anything should work, except perhaps for Stone, since they are best when teamed with at least a Kinetic to speed 'em up some. Probably would really be a matter of personal preference if you ask me though, heh. -
EDIT: Beaten to the punch, lol.
As a side note, not there are no radio/paper missions in Praetoria. -
So this is more of a curiosity question than anything else, but is the "Grass is Greener" badge working as intended if you get it when entering a Villain base for the first time as a Rogue? Seems kind of odd that a Villain base would be considered to be in Paragon City...

Being a bit of a PS novice, I'm wondering if there's somewhere to acquire the fonts used in the loading screens? Loading one of the screens up in my PS CS3 Extended gives me a notice saying the font included isn't available in my software and will need to be added to the software. So anyone willing to help a PS n00b and point me in the right direction to get the necessary font(s) or explain how to get around this?

I'll see what I can put together for this. One question though, pertaining to the Boosters included as prizes. What if we have them all? I wouldn't want to see those codes wasted, so I'm wondering if they're automatically applied to a winners account or if the codes are emailed.
That said, off to reinstall Photoshop! -
Quote:I don't think this is a decision that you get to unilaterally make Shadow. It needs to brought up with the powers that be at Dream Team before deciding anything.I think for now. Unless said differently the Raids are gonna be down for a while. For personal reasons. Thank you for understanding.
That said, Dark Energon has mentioned to me that he'll at least take care of this coming Tuesday's Raid and once I get my audio in working order (hopefully in the next few days to a week) I'll happily go back to running at least one per week, if not both, depending on whether or not Lady Temptress or Angel of Seduction are present. -
That's decidedly odd then, unless the length of the trial was changed and I missed the announcement.

With Going Rogue live today the servers are working overtime to keep up with everyone showing up. Its been months since I've seen Freedom and Virtue in the red for server load, and even the lesser populated servers like my home on Guardian are into the moderate load range. Combine that with the birthing pains associated with the launch and you'll notice a slowdown across the board.
That said, I don't know of any alternate downloads. Perhaps you can find a friend that has one of the boxed editions and will let you borrow it to install from a hardcopy? Then you only need to download the patches and Issues released since that boxed edition was released.
Oh, and as a side note, the trial is 14 days, not 7. -
