Those are the only armors that FA actually has natively. Presuming you also need to turn on CJ (0.0 sec Arcanatime), Tough (3.3 sec Arcanatime), and Weave (.924 sec Arcanatime), you still have slightly more than 4 seconds of untouchability after RotP. That's quite a decent bit of time to be completely immune to everything, but still be able to attack, especially since both WP (which has more toggles than FA) and Regen (which has no protection at all while it stands up) don't benefit from untouchability whatsoever.

This also completely ignores that, if the power were able to be used at full strength while alive, you'd be similarly immune to damage and effects while not having any need to retoggle anything. Being able to use the power at full strength while alive would be stupidly overpowered.
As a fire tank, the fact that most of them need Tough, Weave and CJ and acro as well as the native toggles and then still getting the big faceplant to require the RotP means that after the 4 seconds of untouchable that you estimate, that newly rezzed Fire Tank is going to be in big trouble once more. Yay for a T9 power.

Fire Tanks have been really squishy from the outset, but since the nerf to burn has made FA Tanks the least tankable powerset in difficult situations, like high end and late game. Most of the big damage game that would be enough to defeat a Fire tank usually means the bad guys are pretty tough themselves, ie lots of HP and mez resistant, so the damage and mez from RotP isn't much to write home about anyhow. And 15 sec -> 4 sec is a huge decrease in time that you are in 'god mode'.

I never proposed that RotP be usable while at full strength, I was just commenting on the relative feebleness of the power. When you really need to use RotP odds are that it's not going to be sufficient to pull your fat out of the fryer unless you defeat win very quickly. RotP always felt like some mid-level power instead of a T9 to me.

    Slot my Fluffy

I just looked at your thread title and laughed.

Anyhow, slotting for recharge only matters if you are MM /dark.

Obviously it is part of the Nemesis plot of Ouroboros that is slowly making itself clear to everyone as they slowly become poisoned by using the portals...

  6. Usually those pets are the ones that zoned with you (new tech). Dismiss the pets and recast them (when you zone in each mish/zone) and they should be more obedient (old skool MM recast upon zone). The won't be any smarter than the previous issues but at least they won't run off as much.

So I was playing really late, near maintenance time on Freedom last night and noticed a character in Pocket D. Then when I clicked on her info, I found that she actually had something written in her description! I thought, wow, RP exists on Freedom? Awesome. I'll add this character to server. But wait--I can't. She's an 'enemy' (she was a Brute, I was playing CoH). The game window tells me that I am not able to befriend an enemy. In these days, with so many cooperative zones, how come we can't befriend characters who are in the same game?

I have heard that this is a player setting and there is an option to adjust it. If that's true, my question is, where is this setting? And will adjusting it also allow me to give gifts (inspirations) to my CoV teammates during co-op missions?

I tried logging out and then quickly back into my Villain, but then I realized I couldn't just "search" for that character by name, and then I had no idea how to add them without finding their avatar in the game. I also didn't want to add global because folks are a bit more hesitant with adding those (including myself). As a second question, is there a way around this?

    Much obliged

Probably the only way you can do this is by making up a stalkerish type bind... by using getlocalname on their global...if it shows up with the toon name you wanted to friend, then they are probably online on that particular toon.

Would be kinda creepy if you ask me though...I've had my fair share of times where someone has seemed to 'find' me whenever I logged in.

    Static Team

Have you put this in Justice United or JFA2010 at all? Lots of action there and some people may be interested.
  9. Anyone else see this? We started Kahn TF and on the 2nd mission we all just kept hanging on the load screen.

Since almost all of us entered from Ouroboros the weird thing was that upon log in (again), the area where we entered seemed to be a random doorway in ouros (not the ouros entryway where we could pick the TF mission).

So we disbanded and reformed, and then hung up again (same issue) on mission 3. We decided to try entering from different zones instead, like talos, but we still hung on load and upon login got bumped to a different entrance. 3 of us were under the map.

Eventually someone got the map to load and we jumped in, just to get booted out again. I think someone stayed in long enough to finish the mish, and the rest was fine from there.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking this might be related to the Justice/Virtue/Guardian crash but if anyone else has had any similar experiences I'd just like to know.

But that allows you to move onto the next hollow but physically attractive relationship without looking like a jerk, amirite?

You click on which character you want to move, then use the Buy Server Transfer option at the Server Login menu, right?
Yup. I was a bit confused at first since I was looking for a web page to do the transfer like you would transfer a toon from live onto test.

It was years ago that I transferred a toon from Freedom to Justice so I forgot that all this live server transfers are done in client.

Make sure stealth powers are completely off before rescuing/acquiring hostages/allies/pets. This includes stealth procs, and AoE stealth powers like steamy mist or shadowfall, and superspeed.

-everyone uses inspirations. It is hard to fight if all they have to do is pop a green and heal up after I am hammering on them for a few minutes.
-no one honors my challenge to fight under the globe in RV. When I show up and start to tell them the rules, I get stunned/held/AS'd and killed before the fight can start. Repeatedly.
-even melee toons have phase. weak.
-if you like to fly, people will target you with web grenades and then gang you like 5:1 when you fall.
-when I got a kill and got a pvp recipe, they told me it was worth 200K so I sold it to a blaster for 3 mil. I found out later it was worth 800 mil. liars.
    -the lag is horrible
-all of the players have fake names that are not in line with their origins and powersets. Like natural origin broadsword scrapers with names like 'ur a nub haha' instead of 'Leonidas'.
-if you ask a question in broadcast people will give you wrong answers and trick you into getting killed repeatedly. IT IS NOT FUN.

I will be transferring back as soon as possible. Hopefully all of these 'leet pvpers' will not follow.

    hows it work guys?
I would assume that the proc has a chance of affecting you when you cast tornado, and then for the pseudo pet every 10 seconds while it is attacking a target.

Note that if it does proc after hitting an enemy, you won't see any external difference, since the attack rate of the tornado is an aura around the pet instead of a direct attack, so it ticks like hotfeet (tick rate is constant).

As far as Lightning Storm is concerned, it used to affect the cloud only (and a check for the caster upon casting once), but the devs nerfed all pet recharge so their attack rates are constant as well, and specifically (re)stated that the pet attack rate recharge nerf was targeted at Lightning Storm. Go figure.

With the extended outages it probably could be a software issue that could lead to/has already lead to data corruption, meaning they either want to roll back/patch/resync the data on each server.

Seems like they tried getting Virtue up but it wasn't taking so it could be something bigger than just a simple reboot to fix for all three servers.
  22. Its all part of the new carbon caps and emissions strategy. 3 servers are shut down randomly each week to make sure Paragon Studios and NCSoft are carbon neutral.
  23. It's all a big plot to consolidate all the people onto Freemdom.
