Agreed. Ledger was clearly a talent on the rise. Most strapping young guys like him are lining up for romantic comedies and action flicks. Ledger didn't, not really. He took on tough and controversial roles and committed to them. Sure, not all of his movies were great, but you can't find one that he was lousy in. He always brought some light, some verve, to a role.

I have no doubt that, had he lived, he'd be considered one of the great actors of this generation. Sadly, he was only just tapping into that promise when he died. But, was he established? He was.
  2. I have the Tier 3 Destiny on my tanker and it is damn good. 944 at a pop. I may eventually go in a different direction with this toon, but that will be after I get my healing badges. I've already made good progess on the first one.
  3. The only thing I would want is a "flag" that I could place on a recipe that would essentially disallow me from selling any salvage required for that recipe, at least until I unflagged that recipe.

How weird you would say this, because I'm pretty sure Pum already has a custom butt tattoo.

This is quite common in sci-fi/fantasy type movies which require a certain sense to pull off... when otherwise good actors can't quite "get" the genre and look ridiculous. See: Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Tim Roth as General Thade AND Emil Blonksy, etc. Daredevil failed mainly because neither Affleck or Farrell had the sense of the genre.

    My two cents.

Really? Cap is on, like, one page... total. Nuke, the "weird dude with an American flag painted on him" was in it considerably more, but he stands in stark contrast to Cap's minor presence, and is really the only reason he appears. Honestly, even with it's brevity, I thought it was one of the most powerful portrayals of Cap I had read to that point.

That movie wasn't great, but I don't think it was nearly a bad as everyone makes it out to be. It has become chic to pan it, regardless. The sad thing is that the material, Daredevil in general and the Miller/Bullseye/Elektra thread specifically, was so amazingly good that the film can only disappoint.

I'll give any Daredevil movie an honest chance.

Exactly. If some poor stressed-out overreacting EU bloke is going to up and quit the game because he has @vanda1 on the EU servers and just cannot survive with another name, I'd happily give it up to him. Really, man. Who cares? It's a global name... just change it to something else you like.

I envy your situation if THIS is something worth complaining about.

Admittedly I wasn't online for the first year, I didn't join until EU Beta but I've had an active account since then, and now being told that me and my name isn't worth anything since I'm not on the US servers feel bloody rotten.

I'm sure there will be good things about the merger, but for me it might be the end since I wasn't even given a chance, I was just told YOU LOOSE!
So, putting that little "EU" in front of your name is reason enough for you to just up and quit the whole game? Overreact, much?
  12. I don't have Mid's here at work and so I can't punch out a build, but essentially go to this page: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Invent...hancement_Sets and find every set that offers the defense bonuses you are looking for, probably melee, AoE and ranged. So, you are going to slot Kinetic Combats and Touch of Death into some attacks. You want lots of Obliterations and a Gaussians slotted up.

Good news is that you won't need many -if any- purples.
Bad news is that many of these are high-demand IOs and can get up there in price.

Also, you want to get Combat Jumping and Weave and slot it accordingly. It isn't all that difficult to softcap positional defense on a brute, but it's not going to happen on accident, unless you're a stony in Granite. You may have to make some sacrifices, dumping powers you like for some you don't so that you can slot a power with more desirable bonuses, picking Fighting pool, short-shrifting some much-used powers and fully-slotting seldom-used ones.

    Have fun.

This came up at the Bay Area Meet and Greet. From what I gathered, while we loved the Herocon, it wasn't exactly a money-making venture on their part, and may even been very costly; that was a lot of hotel space. They asked us how much we would pay for a Herocon, and when they noticed that there were still a lot of hands in the air when they said "$100", I think they were surprised.

I think we may see another Herocon, but it'll be more expensive than the last. How much was that one? $40? $50? I don't remember. I'd bet the next one would be two or three times the cost of the last, and they will probably gauge interest before they go that way.

    This.

If I had unlimited slots to fill Health, I would go with the four uniques, the Numina Heal, and either the Panacea Heal or the Miracle Heal to get the recovery bonus.
  17. Miracle, Regenerative Tissue, Numina, and Panacea... that's four by my count.

I don't have all four on any single toon. All of my toons have a Numina. About 50% have a Miracle. About 25% have a Regenerative Tissue. And about 3 or 4 toons have a Panacea.

It all comes down to the type of toon and the slots you have to spare.

    Yes, this.

It's an unstoppable force. I've found against AVs and GMs, 7 fire/rads and a scrapper with good single-target damage is a little better, just to have someone dealing huge damage numbers against debuffed-into-uselessness foes. But, it's not like 8 fire/rads need any help with anything.
  19. Other people who attend events outside California may have a different perspective to offer...

I have attended the Herocon and most of the Meet and Greets out West, and I had some observations:

Virtue has the biggest attendance... by a wide mile, as far as I can tell.

After that, Freedom and Justice are about the same, with the former bringing less than you might expect given their size and the latter bringing more.

Even being a tiny server, Protector gets a pretty good turnout.

I'd argue that Justice has/had about as many Hami raids per week, but with a smaller population. I know that, on Justice, by the time the Hami raid is scheduled to start, the Hive has long been full.

But, without a doubt, if you want regular Hamis, it's either Virtue or Justice.

I was just kidding. Virtue is about the only place you see any ERP at all and so I was just joking about it, as I sometimes do when I'm playing on Virtue, which admittedly isn't much anymore. My experience on Virtue? I have a full slate of toons, two 50s, but probably haven't been there in a year.

In my absence, said toons are probably ERPing with each other in the base with the power shut off.

I think it's both. There are more puddles and each does more damage. It's very ouchy in there.

Freedom is the busiest server and the unofficial PvP server. Lots and lots of good players there, but the added traffic is also an double extra helping of dumb.

Virtue is second busiest server and the unofficial role playing server. You are just as likely to find yourself caught in some erotic role playing with a fat 45 year-old shut-in living in his mom's basement as you would taking down Hami.

Justice/Infinity/Champion are next-busiest. Justice is likely the unofficial raid/TF server. For it's population size, I think Justice offers the most developed TFage, and regular Hami and ship raids. Also, much of Justice is on test server and in Beta and so prior to launches the server populations drops into the bottom bin.

The others all have strong communities, but are tougher to find for outsiders.

Exactly. I've noticed lately on our Apex runs that as long as one of our kins is present, we can just dogpile BM before the retreat. After the retreat is a different story, as I think the patches are doubly dangerous and there are more of them.
