in your sig you have 3 trollers, 2 blasters 2 defenders and 1 stalker. What are they, you may have a good one in there and not need to lvl another toon.
  2. no you can set the options to small insps only.

You are on a regen, so dull pain, reconstruction and instant healing = the same thing as anything else without a self heal using those powers.

    Quote:
if you need to rely on inspirations and or accolades, especially in a duel, u have two options... respec or delete
I think its the opposite, if you need to rely on making rules for the duel such as not using insps or accolades then your toon is subpar and you have 2 those options, respec or delete. Because you should have no problem staying alive on a regin fighting anything except maybe a therm, cold or dark even with them using insps/accolades.

    Quote:
be sure to reload insp as often as possible (stock up at WW for all large insp) and DO NOT fight for at least 25 mins after accolades are used (pretend as if AFK, to keep your manhood)
Don't really understand what the reload insps as often as possible means, since you can not get any more than what you entered the event with. They fixed the emailing insps to yourself and claiming them in a match trick, can't claim insps when in a match now.

and this duel is in the arena and is 10 minutes right??? So u do know that those accoldae powers are available at the start of each match.
  3. It is rapidly deleting itself................

except for stupid rules like no insps and no accolades, those are the keys in any duel, the proper timing and use of them.

    FIRE/SS Tank

Yeah I was gonna skip foot stomp in the build i did for him, but thought maybe we wanted that and quicksand for some odd reason.....
  6. That or a Rad/Psi is what is normally seen on teams, mostly rad/sonics now though for of course the debuff but also for stunning the target with screech.

here, definately not a master of tank builds since I don't have one, but changed around your slotting, and no taunt?? I didn't change any of your power selections but you should drop something and get it.

Hoarfrost is a good self heal not really there to up your hp, you wont get any more than 1605 so just use it as a heal. Hibernate really doesnt need any extra slots because once you use it you have the 90 second no phase timer during which even if hiber did recharge you can not use it.

Your travel powers are slotted poorly in your build.

Vengeance does not work on any dead body laying out there, person must be on your team and it will only buff your team mates that are near.

I would take beanbag and slot it for stun and acc.

Don't slot for defense, its meh in a PvP zone, due to DR also damage is hit with the DR bat so don't take assault take maneuvers instead.

Get rid of the fighting pool, get leaping, you need cj,sj and acrobatics.

You need about 41kb protection or you could/are going to be spending a lot of time on your butt.

you need more recharge so use adjusted targeting's vice gaussian's. If you really really want to play this toon in PvP then work on getting the Luck of the gambler procs that are in the build.

I took Lib's build and did a couple of mods to it, i.e. I took out the PvP IO's, changed the travel power slotting but left in the LoTG procs. You can always use either build as something you are working towards and slot what you have and get any other IO's that you can afford, the really really expensive ones in my build are of course the LoTG proc's, the blessing kb procs, and the couple of nucleolus hamis.

So here ya go, use what ever or none.

    Dumb Question?

just slot your toon for fighting at level 50, or you are going to gimp yourself in RV, which is normally the zone with the most people in it.

umm no, and just because you can listen to someone count down from 3 doesn't mean anything, it is not a zone where once the target takes some damage they can't move and if one person goes even the slight bit early or the rad debuff goes on too early or anyone starts following the target and gives away who is the target then the other teams emps, which are not hindered due to HD, will start healing and can actually save their teammate. And there is more than the target caller tabbing to a new target and saying that person's name, there is a method to the target calling maddness. And you forgot that the other team is targetting someone on your team so they may be evading/phased/hibered/dead and require rebuffing all the while the action is not stopping even if the target caller is the one that is doing the evading or respawning.

    Quote:
Well you've at least managed to oversimplify the role of a ranged damage dealer. Just another hint that you really don't know what you are talking about. Unfortunately you still have to cover rads, doms, emps, stalkers, disruption toons, disruption line ups, mez spikes and the timing/reaction time needed to do it all with everyone running around at near capped travel speeds
And I'll again agree with Lib because since you don't do it, you have no idea about the 8v8 team dynamic and how it can either require or not require skill, because why..?? You have not done it competitively in this game. Plus do you play anything other than the Rad/Rad that you said you play in zones? That is the only thing I have ever seen you on, so how can you say how "easy" it is to be one of the damage dealers on a team? You certainly don't have the experience in playing one or on a team or against another team with skilled players and fighting the multiple downy scrappers in RV certainly doesn't count.

    Some help...

Here, 2 builds one with fitness and one without, and I preface this with I don't play a Kat/regen, have never played a kat/regen and made these builds in like 5 mins so use what you want or all or none, but they do have perma dull pain so you are permanently hp capped. Of course they are a very very pricey builds with all the proc's/purples/PvP IO, but I guess they can always be a works in progress. and when GR goes live I would definately switch sides to get mako for hibernate and sharks

And if you have never "competitively", i.e. Test, PvP'd in CoX then how can you say there is none or that it is not. As I have said before it may not be pre-i13 competitive PvP but for the people on the teams that have stuck around and still play on test, it is as competitive as we can get.

Not at all, I still test PvP, it may not be what it was but it is what it is and it is still competitive. And the people that do it are levels above in skill level than the random people that play in zones and think they are good and use broadcast to tell everyone just how great they are.

As far as getting farmed, in zones its hard to be immortal on most arena toons (outside of stalkers) but I can't remember the last time I've teamed with any arena buddies where the kill to death ratio wasn't significantly better than the rest of the "Zoners" crowd. With 2 or 3 people its usually enough to simply wrack up kills, on the rare occasion you get like 5+ into the zones on a team I've never seen the other side last more than 10 minutes before they'd be base camped just because the level of coordination is that much better.

Along the line of what Psyrene said, 8 v 8 Would be a complete blow out (even if HD and TS were on) in the arena. 6 v 8 with numbers favoring the zoners with HD and TS off would be a complete blow out.
    I agree with Lib.
As an "arena kid", even though I haven't been considered a "kid" in ohh 3 or 4 decades, yes I said decades, I would even say 5v8 the score would probably be a lot for the 5 "arena regulars" and zero for the 8 and yeah the other nite we got 7 of us together on vills and even with the very lopsided hero to villian ratio in the zone, the heroes were back in the base in something close to 10 minutes or less. Pretty easy to get teamed up and damage spam someone until they die in a zone, all you do is target them, let them phase/hiber then as soon as they are done the no-phase timer is in effect and you just damage spam them to death because they will never be able to escape with the Travel Supression or they won't be able to be saved by a teammate because of Heal Decay.

and use search in this forum and find any of the multiple posts on builds they are there. But in a nut shell for starting out I'd go Psi/EM/Fitness/Speed/Leaping/Cold. get your accolades, build for recharge, damage, and to cap your hp.

That's because zone PvP is a joke with the heal decay and travel supression and most of us that PvP in the arena do so with TS and heal decay off so you take your (insert toon here) that you normally play in practice in the arena into a zone then whammo it feels as if you are playing in mud that is neck deep, you can't move, you get attacked and you can't move, it is just bleh. And it is not because they get farmed so much they don't go in it is because when most of us join up on a team there is no competition. Here is the vent conversation when in a zone, lets say there are 4 or 5 of us on a team, a couple stalkers and maybe a rad or a cold and a dom. "Target is (x) he is just standing there, a couple of locks and a couple "ASing's" later that target is dead and moving on. Same thing if it is hero side with a couple blasters a rad and an emp or 2. So its not because they get farmed constantly it is because it is just sooooo bad.

hmm. I never agreed with you on the competitive PvP being a joke, it is just very much different now than what it was pre-I13 and those of us that have stuck around have adapted to it, not sure if that is the best way to put it. Lets say we live with it and find ways to make it work because really right now there is no other MMO's out there right now with good PvP.

Ya, maybe at one PvP took atleast some form of skill but Even in arena now, it's no longer about skill but who can put out the most DPS.
and no.....really.....DR is on in all the matches we play when we practice........I didn't realize that, and there again I will say how bad DR and the I13 changes were, because we don't even use shield buffing type of toons any more on teams because they are not required. All we need are 2 healers some debuffs and damage.

And there is still some skill involved in 8v8's or the match results that we normally see would be a lot different....

I've said it before, to other people, you get 8 people that zone PvP and we will get our 8 in a match and I will bet you we win by a very large margin.
  17. Cold/Psi Defender- meh, I still have some fun every so often on my cold/sonic but its still meh.
Mind/Nrg Dom- can be used to set up A.S.'s from stalkers, may be a ok dueler, not sure don't have one and haven't seen many other people playing them lately.
PB- can be a pretty good zone toon, and as a dueler they can be built to be alright.
Mind/Therm Troller- eh like I have said in many posts, not so good in zones due to heal decay and travel supression when buffing/healing. but not a bad dueling build.
Dark/Storm Corr- all storms are pretty lame in zones due to anytime you are mezzed hurricane will drop but a couple of them can still be used on a team, but really only work if you huddle them up or on a small indoor map such as cargo ship or the lab.
Fire/TA Corr- meh, mostly see grav/ta trollers on arena teams, and very few /ta corr's in the zones.
Rad/Cold Corr- another not to bad duelist, lack of a self heal is bad but rad blast can be proc'd out and do some nice damage that way.
Sonic/Pain Corr- okay support toon, an emp is still better to have on a team though
Spine/WP Stalker-this and elec/wp are probably the most popular stalker builds atm and you will see a ton of them in zones and can be used on arena teams as well.
Ill/Storm Troller- same as the storm corr.

Just my opinion from what I see/have seen used by teams we use or have fought against on test and during the Freedom PvP League, and from playing around in the zones when I am bored out of my brain.

Fixed, buffs not required, any organized team of 4 can wipe the map clean. 4 stalkers can pretty easily kill just about anything on the map, same can be said about 4 blasters or 4 of any damage dealing toons, since all that matters in zones is dmg, dmg, dmg Now what would be better would be 3 damage dealers and a debuffer, but I will agree that an organized team of 4 can wipe the map, doesn't necessarily have to be a buffed team.

That's good because there is zero chance of you ever convincing me of that, since I have done both and if that were so then all the zone PvPr's that played in any kb's or arena events wouldn't be farmed as bad as they get farmed since they would have more skill at evading and healing since they could do it in zones with TS and HD in effect and TS and HD are turned off in most kb's or team matches but I just don't normally see that.......
  19. [QUOTE=Tokyo;3115845]No but it was PvPEC that were going to support TS in ladder matches untill a loud enough majority told them to bugger off. PvPEC also has a history of encouraging fiteclub mentality.[quote]

um.. no and the PvPEC is all player based and run random events each month and attempt to do it so that they get multiple people to come to said event. So yeah I guess every so often we would see from them some type of 1v1 tourney but that doesn't mean it has to be a TRU WARRIR FC style, even though they could decide to do one. Just don't participate in it. I definately don't see them out there promoting FC mentality.

Reason being they mostly are good. Put said "ladder kid" on a Psi/Em and then put their opponent on the exact same toon and I will bet you 9 out of 10 times the "ladder kid" wins the match. Why? Because they have practiced, understand dueling strategies, etc, etc.

Does you say this also to the scrappers in RV that think they are good because of Heal decay and travel suppression.........??

Exactly, a healer should be able to heal the teammate that is getting attacked, and if they can't due to the game mechanics, i.e. Heal Decay, then they can not do their job well enough. With heal decay and even with a /pain corr on the team, if you start getting damage spammed in a zone and phase/hibernate is down you are going to die because you can't evade and the /pain corr is going to hit the person with share pain and then before heal decay time is over no matter what other heals the /pain can throw out that person that is getting attacked is going to die more than not.
Lets move on to shields type buffs, so worthless they are not even worth talking about, so that knocks out sonic/* defenders and */sonic corrs, no one but dahjee would even play one in a zone.

so to the point I was making, due to the buff ability and healing ability, of most support toons, being degraded or better yet diminished, then most people would rather not play them.

True to a point. Except that I hate how much they all get DR'd. Don't get me wrong, it is nice when the few random people that do play a support toon in the zone actually are there.
Also fort using mind link is not a support toon.

Here is the only 100% true statement you made.

So I still stand by what I said before, most people that come into RV do not want to be on a support type toon, they all want to come in on damage dealing, more survivable type toons. Hence the reason you see tons of scrappers, tanks, brutes and stalkers and blasters and not so many defenders, corruptors, and controllers.

Don't really see how this could actually be since it wasn't the PvPEC's decision to make heal decay, buffing or healing cause travel suppression, having being attacked cause travel suppression which makes having any kind of evasion skill a nonexistent requirement, having buffs do pretty much absolutely nothing. That is what caused the lack of support toons, why play one when you are mostly ineffective in the role you are designed to fill?

I see people on your roster on a lot, so I bet you could have 8 if you said to them to get their butts on test because you have been challenged to a match but I also don't know if they even care enough to be there if you did.
  22. because not very many want to play a support toon in the zones.........

    Animation Times

No, because damage is also hit with the DR bat so it really is mostly a waste of end and of a power choice.

    Take :
    maneuvers for a karma, a lotg 7.5 and maybe a kismet +acc
vengeance for another karma, and a lotg 7.5
tactics for 5 adjusted targetings and a rectified recticle.
