First thing, why waste your time and money and build for SC. build for 50 and fight in RV.

Quote:PvP Zones, PvP IOs, Arena, PvP Revamps, Base Raids. All of these things have been added to the game in the interest of sparking more PVP interest. They've failed fairly miserably, with very little if any change in the net number of PvPers in the game, save for the i13 changes which turned the zones into ghost towns.
They've already got a strong Roleplaying playerbase they could create stuff for, instead.
More emotes, interactive emotes (hugs, and such) new costume pieces, a Secret identity system, personal apartment/bases, Base design revamp, more base items, more base textures, personal nemesis systems, new travel powers and power pool customization, more power customization in general...
More chest emblems and cape styles, costume pieces galore! new RP areas and hangouts. How about a few buildings scattered around the map with ACTUAL insides? I'd love to head down to a 1950's style diner in Steel canyon and hang out with friends while waitresses in white blouses and red poodle skirts take the orders of other patrons. Or head down into a laboratory environment near Orion labs for RP and fun. How about leaving the tops of "Green Fluid Filled Tanks" open so players can jump in for cloning RP?
They've tried and Failed to get a strong PvP presence, and have thrown money at the problem for long enough. I'd rather they moved on to another subset of the players and handed out some new toys.
There's a point where you have to cut your losses and move on to something else, rather than throwing good money after bad.

Because try as they might, their changes were horrible and all of us that spoke up about it during the beta test for i13(for this is when all their good intentions went bad) were pretty much totally ignored and told that the PvP changes were not made for the PvP community but to get more people into PvP and to make more AT's viable. Now we see where that has taken us. Less AT's viable, powers that act differently between PvP and PvE, builds that to be good cost in the 10's of billions. PvP IO drop rates that are so bad people go into a PvP zone and afk farm for them for days on end and get a couple. (I PvP quite a lot and have gotten 1, yes count it 1 drop ever so how bad is that drop rate). So what they need is someone who understands the PvP system in the game and will work with the community in getting things better. I know you have probably never spent 1 second in the PvP forums but we have had a stickied topic on what changes we need to make PvP better, for a looong time.
Yeah a PvP Dev would be a great addition to their Dev team. -
Quote:Gratz, but traveling 13 miles on foot........that is why we invented cars.Just wanted to share a little something with the Triumph Community
On Spet 19th , I completed my first half marathon. 13.1 miles.
In a time of 2h 23 min, beating my goal of 2h 30.
Over this year I am down about 45 lbs, and my BP/Heart rate and cholesterol are all much better than they were.
So if you haven't seen me on much, its been because I have been in the outside, grinding miles on the pavement.
Got another one coming up fast.
See you all in game soon. -
I am wondering who da eff are all of these people...and why are they posting here?
-
Yeah, I was on the road and stuck in traffic that made my normal 2 hour drive take 4hours and 15 minutes.

I don't know why no one has said Rad/Psi yet, very good solo defender, very well rounded. All that is needed is RA,RI,AM, EF,LR, Mental Blast, TK blast, Subdue, Will Dom and Scramble Thoughts. With fitness going inherent in I19 then you can add other powers but really wouldn't need them. You can floor a targets defense, resistance, to-hit, and regen rate and improve your spd, recharge and damage all by level 12.
I would definately recommend a Rad/(x) defender. -
Quote:How are you getting "ganked" when you are in a PvP zone and there is a warning that says you can be attacked by other players that you have to click ok to make it go away and a big countdown telling you when you are attackable. I find it ridiculous that people say you get "ganked". A team killing you is not "ganking" and it not like you don't know or didn't know that you could be attacked while you are in that zone getting said badge. That's quite a bit removed from "A bunch of people getting ganked while hunting badges."
Quote:And I'd agree that if some yellow glowy balls bouncing around was what PvP looked like, then there was a definite problem with it.
"Don't attack me, I am only here for (x) badge" should just never be said when you are in a PvP zone. You are there, the hazards involved in getting said badges are you may be attacked by someone. If you can't deal with that then don't go there, it is just that easy and if you do and get attacked don't cry about it. With the way PvP is now all you have to do is be on a team and just damage spam the crap out of someone and they will eventually die because they definately can't evade and if they have a support toon, that toons heals are very limited in usefulness due to heal decay so just get your team that is badge hunting to all attack the same target. Pretty easy to do with a simple call out in team chat. -
Quote:Get butthurt much when getting your badges???? Wah Wah Wah there was no honor in some team killing you when your were getting "x" badge. Hint hint, get a team, fight back.PvP was never balanced in this game. It was and is a playground for griefers, there is not no real Pvp, unlike most games MMo out there, IT's Gank this and gank that. These people aren't even true pvpers, they can't win alone and if you a PVE player trying to farm in this game or gather badges you will be gank, Laugh at and mock. That not true gaming Sport or PVP, that is Madness my friend, If you pvper Griefer's out there don't like what I said, Well F*&^ You.
Now back to not griefing against the not badgers. -
Quote:No it is almost entirely on point, badgers would enter a PvP zone on their toons that were uber godmode PvE toons and then get taken down by a PvPr or a Team of PvPr's and they then would come to these forums and complain to no end about how broken PvP was, not that they had any clue on how to PvP, just that it was broken. If they had taken time to maybe stay in the zone and ask what they could do to live longer, etc, then they may have figured out that it was less broken then than it is now. I13 changes were made for those people who did the complaining. Pre I13, the devs went to test and watched some PvP teams practice and what they came up with was that it was too fast, people died too fast, and healers could heal too much. Hence Heal Decay, Travel supression and global resists. They also complained that the PvP builds were too much and had no chance to compete against them sooo enter DR. An attempt to make it so that even a so-so build would be viable.Saying that PvP was changed for whiny badgers is laughably wrong.
We, the PvP community, that were involved in the beta testing told them that most of the changes were bad but were mostly ignored, to the point that Lighthouse made a post saying that the changes were not meant for the PvP community, and was quickly removed from his job...
So yes the whinny people on the forums, who got ***** on their AR/Ice blaster while badge hunting and complained about it are the ones that these PvP changes were made for. So Cath was not laughably wrong, but you sir were in saying that. -

So the question is, is this on the 25th at 9eastern as the poster says or is it the 26th at 9 eastern like the write up under the poster says? Saturday is Champion PvP League night so if it is the 25th I definately can't make it, if it is Sunday night then maybe I will show up.

You do know that TP foe makes the person you tp'd unaffectable to a short time when you tp them, so tping them into say a bunch of trip mines doesn't work like it used to....
-
Mind/fire, there is a reason most people say to make one....
-
since it is your first one then I would probably go with cold mastery, 5 slot flash freeze with fortunata hypnosis for the bonuses, get hoarfrost for a pretty nice heal and for hibernate. PFF is nice but people will still hit you through it so it may make aid self hard to get to go off. Downfall is that you sitting there in hibernate just screams to stalkers to AS you and others to just lay those AOE debuff powers down so in all reality it is going to be up to you. Try one and if you don't like it then respec and go with the other.

Why don't you post yours and then we can see if/how we would change it.

This server may have not really ever had a very large quantity of PvPr's but many high quality PvPr's originally played on this server. We have had 2 pretty successful Test Teams. Old School was #1 and Paragon Elite made it up to #3 or 2. I wouldn't really consider XA a PvP team, they had some people that PvP'd in the zones but that was about it. They never really entered a ladder team. I also wouldn't really say that any of the "Vet" PvP'rs harassed the PvE crowd, it was just that we knew PvP team strategy and used it. The co-ordinated team understood target calling and buff/debuffing and the "PvE'rs" didn't have any strategies. They may have thought it was harassing but it really wasn't/isn't. Even if there are badges in the PvP zone there is a warning upon entering that says you can be attacked by other players once the countdown is over, no where does it say that if you are "just here for a badge" means no attacking you. Now the devs have mostly catered towards the "casual" PvPr. If you damage spam someone long enough you will kill them because with Heal Decay and travel suppression the target can't evade and if he/she does have a support toon with them, its heals do little to nothing after the first couple. Yes most of us moved to other servers for PvP. I, for one, really don't like zone PvP and don't like it even more since i13. I enjoy team arena PvP, hence the reason I play on test teams and have moved toons to Freedom and Champion, each of those servers have regular kickball matches and Freedom had a league that was a lot of fun and Champion has one ongoing now. I still have toons on Triumph and leveled another toon to 50 a couple of weeks ago to get in on any kickballs on Triumph, but haven't seen one broadcast for one in.....well a long time.
Quote:Well I do know that this is actually in the works, if the devs would ever fix the copy tool. Then they could get some of their toons there and start practicing. I know our team would love to see more teams get into it.but I don't know if Triumph will ever have a PvP ladder team
I know that we were always very willing to answer questions about builds and strategies. I would even send people tells and explain things, recommend builds etc to try to better people but would usually just get bad attitude back, and I guess that is expected since most people think that their toons are all undefeatable because in most of the PvE in the game most toons are unstoppable and then when they get stommped by another toon or two then those people get upset, but I have tried to help lots of people and still will. If you have a question feel free to ask, I will give the best answer I can give or I will ask around to get the answer. Just remember it may not be the answer you want to hear. Example: If you ask me how to make your AR/Ice blaster the best PvP toon ever. I will tell you that it can not be done and would suggest something else.
So yeah yeah tl/dr, but what it mostly comes down to is PvPr's just want to PvP be it in the zones or arena and it is not a personal attack if your toon dies to one or to a team, you were just another target out there. If you are in a zone and can't stand the broadcast smack talk that some people think has to be done, then ignore them. PvP can be very fun if you don't take it personal or too serious(especially if you are zone PvPing). For us "Vet" PvPr's all we really want to do is expand the community, and are normally not the smacktalking douches that sometime inhabit a zone. I would like to see PvP pick up again on Triumph but if not then whatever. See you all in game. -
Wrong forum, post it in the scrapper forum, this is not the" make me a farm build for my toon" forum, and just because you had PvP in your post doesn't mean it is in the right place.
I bet you don't have a toon built for PvP but know that usually we make the best builds therefore why not ask for someone here to make you a farm build....... -
-
If you are looking for PvP advice about your DP/Devices......reroll and don't waste your money trying to make it good, it just won't be. Sorry but that is just the truth, maybe you can use it for PvE but start a new toon to PvP with if you want one that will perform well.

Quote:Hey that's my line.That's funny.
Assault Rifle/Ice Manipulation is still bad.
Way to go devs, you guys rock.
Quote:Yeah okay. I like going into missions where the NPCs conveniently enough just sit there waiting for me to attack them. Missions are either kill all, rescue someone, kill a boss, or some variation of the three.
The PvE in this game is boring, monotonous, unexciting, and downright easy as hell.
I lol at people that think they need a stone brute/tank for anything. Or that you can't do something because you don't have a tank/brute to hold aggro. -
Quote:and then most of these people do not come back out of either base until phase/hiber has recharged.Yeah, now everyone and their grandmother characters have phase and running away is just as frequent only slower. GJ devs
Quote:Oh you are entitled to disagreeI am not trying to cause an arguement.
But not once have I died as a direct result of a mez (in fact the only thing that annoys me is -jump which seems to last forever) and it certainly doesn't feel like anywhere near 8 seconds (I guess due to resistance). It is certainly better than having to carry breakfrees about all the time.
The heal thing yeah I agree with, one thing I would hate is to follow a toon around watching him get healed all day. You aren't always in a team. Also I did say they might have got the numbers wrong if it decays too badly.
And travel supression is meant to stop people just running away when they see you coming. I didn't feel the fast play of i13 so have nothing to compare it too aside from other games, but it doesn't really feel bad to me. -
ok, let me put it this way, how about spending on something other than a scrapper........ because lord knows that RV needs another downy scrapper in it.
