  1. nice guide, it's good to see this sort of thing for sets that haven't changed much.
  2. here's where you argument falls completely apart.

    I happen to like shadowfall *just* as it is.

    So therefore, we have a group of players who do not like the graphics, and a group of players that do.

    Now, since these graphics aren't causing any physical harm (see: Sonic Resonance) which do you think the devs would rather do

    A: Leave the graphics the way they are, meaning no need to put extra work into it and annoying the group that doesn't like the graphics

    B: Change the graphics, meaning time spent not developing new content and annoying the group of people that like the graphics the way they are

    Now obviously neither of these is ideal, but those are the only 2 options, so it's a matter of a lesser of 2 evils.

  7. Mind doesn't need a secondary... it's that good.

    I solo'd my Mind/FF a fair amount of his career, and FF is probably one of the worst secondaries for soloing.

    Storm brings a few interesting things to the solo controller, and since it's mostly about debuffs/controls, you can use almost everything in the set (just not O2 boost) Mine's currently 23 and rather a beast (though a bit tight on power selections)

    Mind/Kin, very strong combo. Mass Hypnosis -> Fulcrum Shift -> Terrify is just sick. That being said, I deleted mine at about 22 because it's a *very* clicky combo.

    Therm is not really a solo set, however, it's better than FF because you get a couple debuffs at 35 and 38. Not sure how it works with trollers, my only experience is on a Corr, but it's a very solid solo set starting at 38.

    TA is a good set, Mind/TA brings a stupid amount of control, but I think it's probably a bit more team oriented, it can work as solo...


    So... there you have it, I know I didn't say which one to roll... but... they're all so good!

    a cross bow uses a different animation than a bow, meaning they'd have to re-do the entire set for the option...

    sacrifice one to make the rest stronger, increased defense/resistance, to-hit, damage, the higher tier you sacrifice, the more powerful the buff is?

    Shields doesn't mesh with most stalkers sets or the stalker theme. Fire melee functionally double but breaks theme since how stealthy is a man on fire?

    Where there's fire, there's smoke...and smoke hides just as well as being invisible. I could easily see a Fiery Melee or Fiery Aura Stalker work. Especially if Placate and Hide involved vanishing into a swirling mass of smoke and embers, and then reappearing in a sudden blazing flash when you strike, like a backdraft.

    That could be pretty darn cool.

    Orly? for the most part i would consider the lower levels to be much easier to solo since for the most part all the baddies are pretty strait forward i.e. skulls, hellions, trolls. Also im pretty sure psyonico has a video of his emp/nrg(?) soloing a few EBs and missions if you would like for me to find and post that as well.

  21. expand a bounty like system to all PvP zones (you get some sort of bounty-like reward for defeating PCs) and put the price relatively high, only allow for random rolls, and you've got a deal.

    yes, my Emp/Energy has solo'd the TF on invincible (at no point do you need to solo an AV, so it's pretty easy)

    Plus a damage boost that brings damage scale up to 1.

    Thats a self-targeting empath right there, which explains why you can't self target those buffs.

  24. since you seemed to ignore my post, I'll re-state what I said earlier.

    your assumption that all powerset combinations and all builds should function equally in all situations is horribly flawed at best.

    Buffers will always function better in certain content than Debuffers (AV encounters, certain enemies with various resistances, etc) because buffs can not be resisted. However, Debuffers will always be better at smaller content than buffers because their powers essentially affect themselves as well as the team.

    I'm not going to type out everything else I wrote last night, go look at that post.
