Issue 14: Indian Giver
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow
Any idea how racist that term is?
And historically incorrect?
Just asking.
[/ QUOTE ]
oh no, here come the PC police...
[/ QUOTE ]
Ironically my post came right after yours. Just wanted to say, I don't know about other people, but I don't see this as a PC thing. I don't live in India, and so the indigenous people here do not include my landlord Nazir Malik, they include my down stairs neighbor Berny and his wife Chris.
Further, one cannot assume that because they are not European they are in some way untrustworthy, and if you say you don't think Native's are untrustworthy why compare a schemer to a native?
Finally, why have a catch all term for the various indigenous peoples? We don't refer to Russians, Chinese, Indians, and Arabs as 'Asians' just because their all from the same continent. The Native Americans living near me are Mi'gmaw for example, as opposed to Inuit or Ojibwa.
I dunno, I just think in this day and age, PC or not, we can stop using the various as insults.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is only an insult if people choose to view it as such.
I refer you to a word that is very popular among "gangstas" a word that is used to describe their best friend, which was once used only to keep them down. A word that I know would be censored, and even if it wasn't I would get modsmacked and possibly banned because I am white and used it.
I also will refer you to sitting "Indian style" something we all did as kids, which is no longer allowed, because that's racist, forcing quite a few elementary school teachers to come up with a quick "fun" term for it, none of which make much sense. -

I'd say fire or cold, the thing about cold is it's more likely to have smashing/lethal attached to it than fire.

But you can't make it in MA. And BS/Shield is not a double weapons set, its 2 single handed weapon sets. Both TA and AR are double handed weapon sets. You can only combine weapon unless they're both one handed, seemingly, until they change that aspect.
Though, bane spiders screw with that rule a bit having the mace AND a two handed rifle.
Just saying it's unlikely due to the logic exhibited in the MA creator.
[/ QUOTE ]
Both are actually 1-handed weapons, they just appear to be two handed because of their animations.
The only 2 handed weapons in the game are
Claws
Dual Blades
Spines
These sets attach "weapons" to both your right and left arm.
Assault Rifle and Archery attach a weapon to your right or left arm respectively, then use postures to show the weapon being used by two hands if they were 2 handed, you would always have to have it in both hands, which you don't (look at jumping, etc) -
BS/Shield is a double weapon set.
The reason we don't see Katana/Shield is because they both take up the left hand weapon slot.
The bow takes up the left hand slot, the AR takes the right hand slot, so there's no reason why we wouldn't be able to do it (at least, within the limits of the game, dev choice is another matter, why they wouldn't let you do it, however, is beyond me) -

It doesn't work per target but per click. While Foot Stomp, Lightning Rod, Shield Charge and other great skills can run a Force Feedback check on each target hit, Gaussians does not work this way with Soul Drain.
(Or, at least it didn't when I tested it upon the release of toHit buff sets.)
[/ QUOTE ]
They fixed the Force Feedback proc a while ago so that it only checks once per power. That's why it used to be worth a lot and can now be gotten for reasonably cheap.
[/ QUOTE ]
not quite.
what they did was fix it's chance to fire.
The way it worked was that it would fire, last for 5 seconds (non stacking) and then there was a 5 second period which it wouldn't fire, if you used the power after that 5 seconds, it would proc 100% of the time.
It still does not stack with itself, but now it lasts for 5 seconds, has a 5 second period which it won't fire, then has the correct chance to proc after that, which is apparently what it was supposed to do.
so, you have a better chance of it firing in an AoE than a ST attack, but it just won't proc more than once per fire. -
forget the female stance (yeah, i admit, it's cool) I still want the flip when I jump and start flying... I've been imagining that everything I jump in the air and hit fly.
-
TA/AR will provide better AoE damage capabilities, methinks.
-
it has a chance to proc every 10 seconds, it will not be affected by containment, it might, however, be affected by fulcrum shift, I am not entirely sure.
-
Shields only has two places of defense debuff resistance, grant cover and active defense.
if you want more debuff resistance, you need to build for +recharge, hasten, IOs, etc. I know it's not a whole lot of help, but that's about all there is to it. -
I've done it with everything from a duo up to 8 people, the duo was the most painful, simply because of our powerset combinations (a D3 and a BS/Regen don't fair well against CoT in terms of damage) my fastest time on the TF (2:11) was actually on a 6 or 7 man team.
That being said, I think your best bet for soloing it is going to be something along the lines of a Rad/Son defender, decent damage, good debuffs, and a way to enhance your recovery. -
I preemptive heal all the time on my empath...
before a fight that looks tough, I'll fire healing aura and say "preemptive heals!"
it usually gets a laugh, which is all I was after. -

I simply would like to see more options to pick from in the costume creator. I really think there should be a face that is simply no face. As in, you can have a hat, monicle or whatever on but have no face or head so you can be ethier a ghost or some sort of invisible man.
[/ QUOTE ]
only if they label it "potato"
Also, you should post it in Sexy Jay's costume request thread, it's the only place he looks

I think the big issue with KB against EBs and AVs is the small amount of time you can affect them with it. PToD should either not affect Knockback, or it should have KB on a different timer so that you can knock them down more often.

Dark armor kills fury. Doms are too squishy to go first so follow the brute/tank. Healers keep everyone alive.
[/ QUOTE ]
well, technically DA can cause some fury issues thanks to foes being unable to attack when Feared/stunned.
Doms are squishy when their AoEs aren't up, I wouldn't want to rush in to a fight with a dom when I didn't have any AoE control ready and throw out Spine Burst. -
-
My TA/A is 44 or 45, no stamina.
There is really only 1 occasion when I have ever had endurance issues, that's solo or small teams with lots of damage mitigation.
basically, a tiny bit of vigilance is enough to more than cover anything my TA/A can do. -

I don't know if this would apply here, but I remember when someone told me that Immo, stuns, and holds stack with each other. I.E. an Immo and Hold would make a mag 6 hold
[/ QUOTE ]
This one actually (in my experience at least) has a sliver of truth to it. I played a controller before Overpower was introduced and when I hit a boss with Mezmerize and Dominate back to back they would be affected by whichever I used second (the sleep seemed more reliable this way)
I don't, however, know if that was supposed to happen, or if there was a bug that was causing any mez to stack with any other mez.
[/ QUOTE ]
AFAIK overpower always existed, it certainly did the entire time you've had your account active, it is only recently that the devs decided to show you when it happens, however. -
not adding anything to slotting advice, because everyone else already covered that,
just want to say that Emp/Dark is an excellent team build. You have "decent" AoE damage, but really, your biggest contribution from your secondary is going to be the -tohit debuffs and controls you can provide. -

Can't you tell by watching it's defense bonus in 'Combat Attributes'?
I don't know if it shows up there, don't have that one.
[/ QUOTE ]If I had the shield, I would.

if I had powerboost, I'd try it.
alas, tanks don't get it.
