Def Debuff for SD

hey all

working on my ss/sd brute who is now level 48

a lot of fun, but def debuff attacks are a weakness with my build

with my planned build on Mid's, my def debuff resistance is only 45%, and that is with all of the SD powers

i've read that some people get it to over 80%
how do they get it that high?

i understand it be higher for awhile when Activate Def is stacked, but unless there is enough recharge, it won't be stacked at all times

would someone please enlighten me on what i may be missing

thanks in advance

Getting more Def Debuff:

Active Defense does not take any IO sets but you can buff the def debuff resistance by slotting HOs or SHOs. Specifically, enyzme exposure (buffs to-hit, def, and end red) or membrane exposure (buffs to-hit, def, and recharge). If you are using Mids, it doesn't show that def debuff resist can be improved in either Active Defense or GC. But I can verify that it can be in AD, as I have a Membrane slotted and my def debuff resist did go up in value. If you cannot get either of those HOs/ SHOs, you could get enough recharge to perma Hasten and you can have Active Defense perma double-stacked.

thanks for the speedy responses

i didn't think of putting HO's in Active Defense, thought it only took end reduction and recharge reduction IOs

thanks for the help

Any power can take any HO enhancement as long as one of the aspects that the HO enhances is something that could be enhanced normally. For example, if the power can normally take End Reduction enhancements, then any HO that has an End Reduction component will go in the power. Using HOs to get around the "unenhanceable" portions of powers has been around for a long time.

Shields only has two places of defense debuff resistance, grant cover and active defense.

That's wrong. Battle Agility has 13.84% def debuff resistance, the same as Grant Cover.

I currently have 93% when AD is double stacked, and 68% when it is not. It has about a 10 second downtime, but once I get the rest of my purples, it will overlap for a few seconds. I only have an lotg 7.5 in Grant Cover, so if you slot that out, you can get another 6% or so (capping you when AD is stacked).
