Damage Cap?

It seems to me when I press "Combat Attributes" that the damage cap for controllers is 300%? Does this include set bonuses? I'm a fire/kin so one dosage of Fulcrum Shift usually sets my damage to 300%, but if I added lets say a Devestation set, for that 3% extra damage, would it do anything? Thanks :-)

for defenders and trollers its 300%. so a Kin (with Fulcrum) slotting for damage bonus is pretty much a waste.

i guess the only way to do more damage is to debuff the damage resistance of the mobs some how. Like a Achilles Heel proc in a aoe or something.

fyi blaster's cap at 400% and brutes cap at 800%?

The Combat Attributes display doesn't consider enhancements. So, if you have 95% damage slotted in a power, you can only use 205% in buffs before you cap.

Brutes cap at 850% dmg, or +750% in Combat Attributes. (As hudsonsmith points out, dmg slotting counts against that number.)

So, the damage cap that FS puts you at (300%) includes the set bonus damage percentage that the OP mentioned? In other words, there's not much point in going after such bonuses, if you're a */kin?

Can you effectively go beyond 300% through resistance debuffs?

Yes.

Yes you can, because if you think about it, -resist debuffs are affecting the mobs resistant levels and not actually altering the amount of damage you are doing directly.

Or to think of it another way, -resist is lowering a mobs armour values. They might have some resistance levels automatically, such as 30%. Thus you would only be doing 70% of the total damage you could do anyway. If you applied a debuff which then lowered their resistance to -10%, your total damage would then be amplified and you would be doing 110% of the damage you should be doing. Altering a mobs resistance levels is completely independent to how much +damage you can stack before you reach the cap.

Does that kind of make sense? I'm finding it difficult to explain but I'm sure you know what I mean, hopefully!
