Many of the MoSTF runs I've been on, we all agree at the start we're gonna finish no matter what, even if someone dies. I like tf runs for the inf/drops, getting a Master badge is just a bonus if we can do it.
One of my MoSTF runs even ended up unintended, the leader advertised as a normal STF and just set the conditions 'just in case, but don't feel any pressure about it, just have fun.'
While I tend to laugh at people who want badges then get upset when they put a new badge in the game (Master badges, skiing badges), I can kinda see why people are upset about it. Like mentioned above, it's only a source of grief if you let it be one to yourself.
I'm of the opinion if you play long enough, you'll get the badges. While I don't play as much any more, I still enjoy a good TF when I have time. I don't stress out about must have the badge now, I simply know sometime in the next year or two, if I run the TF long enough, I'll get on a team (or make my own) that does the master option and has the skill/luck to get it.
And if I don't, as long as the team is fun (which is usually is), who cares? -
Quote:Tried to log in yesterday to get that done, and ran into some problems with my PC. Instead of enjoying a good arc, I spent most of the evening updating software."Is that an official wish? Say the magic words..." Haven't seen an arc comment/reply from you just yet.
Fun times.
Hopefully this weekend... -
Looking to polish up my arc, so I'll invoke the ritual to summon the handyman...
Arc 345863 - When the Bough Breaks -
Just let me sign my own name, Commander. Loyalist scum can't think without the help of the nearest thought police, I doubt you dogs know the proper way to spell...
We need action in the street, movement with our feet. It's time to shout out loud. It's time to start a movement, and there's no time like right now. It's time to get up get up get up why don't you stand up stand up ... it's time to start a fight -
Quote:...how did it take that away from you? You still did it when it was difficult to do, them changing the badge requirements now does nothing to remove that effort.I agree that 1 billion was set too high and I was among those who tried to argue with the devs to lower it to a more reasonable number - all we got was "working as intended". Still I managed to get Immortal on my badge hunter (a Defender) and it was painful. So when it was lowered after all those years I was miffled because it took something away from me that I had earned the hard way and I wasn't sure if I liked the change that I wanted in the beginning, after all the effort I had to put into getting the badge because it wasn't changed earlier.

Alright everyone else, nothing else to see here, thread over. It won't get better than this. -

For the past 5 years or so, on April 1, I would post one of two different joke posts in the forums for April's Fools.
The first would be me 'accidentally' posting hello and greetings to a secret dev forum, introducing myself. The joke was that I misposted, and that I was going to be a new dev of something or another.
The other was in a similar vein, saying that I had sold a CoH branded novel.
These were the only two jokes I would use, and rotate them on and off every other year. Last year, the first one was in rotation, and I used it, and almost got banned for impersonating a dev.
That had never happened before, the other two times I used that joke. That made me sad.
So sorry, the few of you who know what was going on and wondering what I was going to post for this year. I got nuthin'. I guess my only solice is that being devoid of creatively means I won't be in any danger of impersonating a CoH dev, and rather run the risk of impersonating a CO dev.

Quote:Yeah, when DJ badges first came out, I think it was Back Alley Brawler that said something about it being possible to earn them all in one day. People exploded, wondering if he was using the l33t h4x0rz all the cool kids are using these days. Two da... Wait, what?!
All the dayjob badges in 2 days? How the heck?!
He responded by saying all one had to do was push all the badges to 99.9%, then spend a day logging in and out to earn them.
At that moment, I vowed to do such a task. By the time I had gotten to 93% of all time earned across every day job badge, I feel asleep early one Friday night, and ended up earning a day job badge.
But yeah, that's how it's done. -
As of noon today edt, Oksah will have them all

Wasn't able to get them all in one day like I wanted...but still, they're finished. Now I'm sad... -
Let's see, off the top of my head:
Kelp's, Kel's, and what's his name's being turned into girls, with White Geisha totally playing the straight woman in this.
30 or so characters played future children of their characters sent back, with some epic door mission where we had 100 or so people in it.
Something with the Guardian Angels containing one of their teammates who was a warewolf.
Neo Kitsune's decent into emoness.
Anything even briefly touched by the genius of the players behind Questing Eagle and Chrome Fist (Which had so many offshoots because while they were the center of many a story they trusted people to create things around them. The memorable Eric / Shinsecktor regen sword fight in Gemini)
I even ran a few where I would pseudo-GM missions, with my character 'playing' various NPCs. The players used random drops of enchancements and insperations (This was before salvage) as plot tokens: hand one in to change the course of the story / have your character do something big that they can't do in game but in character. -
Few minor updates:
Altered the interaction text with the objects in mission 2
Created a clue at the beginning of mission 4
Altered text in mission 4 and 5 briefings
Removed one objective in the last mission, replaced it with a seperate and similar objective -

Quote:Heh, and I deserve it.No, since they aren't going to have a booth, and since, if they did have a booth I'd still have the option of going on Friday or Sunday, I'm not livid, but I am disappointed. I would like to see the panel discussion, but I'm not going to pay 150% of face value for a Saturday-only pass if that's all they are doing.
However, in what you will probably feel is a colossal waste of money, I am going to fly from Baltimore to Boston Saturday afternoon, go to the meet-n-greet, stay overnight, and fly home first thing Sunday morning. I guess the good news is that I'm not selfishly depriving someone who will really appreciate PAX in all its glory from going to the show on Saturday.
P.S.: The above snarcasm is intended in good humor.
I hope you have a good time none-the-less, despite my idiotic ramblings. -
Quote:Livid yet?Just checked this morning and I see that Saturday-only passes are now sold out in addition to three day passes. I suspect all passes will be sold out in a week or so.
I will be livid if NC waits until after all passes are sold out and then announces they're going to be there. -
I screwed up and actually earned on this weekend, now I can't earn them all in a day. Still, about 21 more days to go

Quote:Each badge is 504 hours. I've created a Google Doc Spreadsheet to track my badges (seen in my sig), and I just created a blank version that you can copy and paste to use yourself, found at:Quick question on Day Badges. I Currently have my 9 Toons parked in locations everytime I sign out to help towards the Day Badges. My main question is every time I log in to view the status of each Toon, it gives a percentage of how much more they need to earn that Day Badge. The bar will also move as normal to show the progress and it usually shows a target number of 501 or something that's over 500.
So, with that being said, what is the exact time frame that one needs to "sit" in each location in order to earn a Day Job Badge? On what I read, it appears that it is a consistent 21 Days of either sitting in that spot without utilizing that Toon or if you do use that Toon, signing out in that same spot for a consistent 21 Day time frame. Can anyone help clarify this for me? Thanks.

Sorting on the 'a' column will sort the badges in the order they're on the day job badge tab. Sorting on the 'd' column will sort in order of which badges have the most time. Since I need to get all my badges as close to 99.99% as possible without going over, the 'd' column is of great importance to me, but I figure the rest of yinz guys will be most interested in sorting by the 'a' column. -
Go around clicking on civilians whose names begin with either M or N. I spent a chunk of time yesterday doing that, here are the results of all my characters who are above lvl 10.
As of Feb 3, 2010:
* Oksah (1.0, emp/rad defender) has 3676 hours logged in, at 2939 logins
* Nosila Oksah (2.0, MA/regen scrapper) has 226 hours logged in, at 179 logins
Nosila-Oksah (3.0, rad/fire blaster) has 147 hours logged in, at 39 logins
* Calvino Italo (DM/invuln scrapper) has 406 hours logged in, at 402 logins
Calvino-Italo (DB/DA scrapper) has 27 hours logged in, at 36 logins
Snorri (Invuln/Axe tank) has 205 hours logged in, at 247 logins
* Jacob Burr (Merc/Traps MM) has 417 hours logged in, at 409 logins
Night Widow Sireah (Night Widow SoA) has 49 hours logged in, at 59 logins
*'s are lvl 50s.
To save some of yinz the math, 3676 hours is 153 days. On one character....
I find that a bit sobering.
(Then again, I did spend 38 hours in 7 days beating ME2. That's a second day job...) -

Proton Volley.
Not a big fan of snipes, especially on my defender. But, the Star Trek "WOOM WOOM WOOM WOOM" makes me grin every single time.
And I tried something once. Teammate teleport foe's the guy I'm targetting, in IP. I turn on superspeed.
Out running my sniper shot, and running circles around it is more fun than you can realize. -
Quote:Well, then I have to say this.Yes, the only reason I will go to PAX East is if NCSoft/Paragon Studios is there. I play exactly one video game - CoX - and I have zero interest in any others, so while there may be a ton of stuff to see and do at one of these shows, none of it interests me.
And maybe there's stuff besides video games at PAX, I don't know. Maybe there are comics companies/creators there, and PnP gaming companies there, etc., but I'm going to San Diego, as well as one or two other comicons, this year where I am sure I'll see all of that stuff and more.
So again, yes, my attendance at PAXEast is based wholly and soley on whether NC/PS will be set up there.
Don't waste a ticket to PAX East, and let someone who is going to enjoy the whole show go instead. If you're willing to shell out all that money for a 10 minute conversation with the devs, and maybe a panel, Doctors without Borders is still accepting donations for Haiti relief, and a better use of your money. -
...you'd be willing to go to a PAX solely based on if Paragon's gonna be there or not?
I went to PAX Prime last year. Paragon Studios was about 1% of my time there.
There is so SO SO SO much to do and see at PAX, that if you're only going to see Paragon Studios, you're really short cutting yourself.
Go because you want to be part of something awesome. Paragon being there would only be a cherry on top of an amazing sundae.
