I've been waiting for this for years myself too. For now the closest I have for "psychic melee" is the Mind/Energy Dom with purple pompoms of doom(minus the doom since it's a dom though
)
.
Quote:Because smashing/lethal isn't resisted by anythingBefore you ask for something like this, I would suggest you play some of the existing Psi sets in the game to high levels.
Every single robot you meet...every one, and things that do not have a brain, again, every one, resist psi like a mother. Good luck fighting those arachnos bots, not to mention nemesis. You might as well toss kittens at them.lol. Each damage type has strengths and weaknesses, with Psi being 1 of the 2 with the least amount of NPCs being protected against. I have a Mind Controller at 50, I don't remember any problems with robots. I also have Mind/Psi Doms, a psi blaster, etc, don't remember any brickwalls from certain NPC types

From what I heard when the driver-allowed list was modified a couple months ago this started happening to a lot of people, I assumed the flag was helping since it went away for awhile. When I zone or adjust my graphics via the slider I run the risk of a popup called "Outdated Driver Detected" something, it cites a 3rdparty dll likely crashing, and boots me out. It also has done it on my mom's (newer) laptop, and possibly my sister's too, I don't remember.
Since my drivers haven't changed, and the coh graphics haven't been overhauled since ultra mode I don't know why I'm getting this all of a sudden. -
I really need to put it in my sig lol. I run a craptop from 2007. The manufacturer makes no newer drivers, and 3rd party ones recommended here hurt my pc more than anything ive ever done to a computer in my life. I can play coh fine, until they expanded their stupid list of drivers deemed to be "outdated" and now I get the driver crash all the time. The driver literally hasn't changed since 2007(after undoing the 3rdparty disaster), the change that controls what the devs like us to run is causing the crash.
They gave us the flag to help with it, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. -
When CoH decided it was the game's business to police Driver versions of the players I was glad that the devs gave us -ignorebaddriver to deal with it. From what I guess was a recent patch, the flag is being ignored and I keep getting the "Outdated Driver Crash". It just happened twice in 15minutes
.
First I thought maybe the flag didn't work when added to my projectcoh shortcut to skip the launcher, but after the first crash I used the launcher and got the driver crash the very first time I tried to zone.
Has anyone else notice this flag being broken? -
Last time the fog of war issue came up(because it has before, and been fixed, and broken again) it was determined that it came from the number of maps in the game I think. For some reason the people who coded maps in i1 beta made fog of war revolve around the number of maps in the game. When more are added and it passes the "cap" in that code FoW goes haywire until that cap is raised again as I understand it.

Those raise the percentages of the enhancement as if it were the same enhancement one level higher, without moving the levelrange your character can access the benefits of it as well(like the levelshift from alphas kinda). They do work at 50, which is where lots of people use them. You can boost the same IO 5 times I think, so technically you could make all your enhancements on your main act as if they were level 55.

And I'm guessing based on joindate the OP is a VIP, but for anyone else who comes across this thread Astral Merits are a reward only obtainable from incarnate content, which is only available to play on VIP accounts.

Quote:If it's a bug that any handful of players might enjoy, it's redflagged as an "exploit" and given highest priority for the fix list. If the players don't gain anything in any evil form as a product of the bug it can be fixed after every exploit and trivial thing deemed exploit, are patchedThere are a couple of longstanding "bugs" that I'm hoping don't get fixed, although I was told that one of them is likely fixed already internally.

(Yes I'm mad they finally found and fixed my market-in-base trick)

Quote:ymean after the City Vault is launched right? They'll get right on it just as soon as they get around to do forum maintenance.
/e watching paint dry
I'd love to jump at the winter sale of 6months/year, but it'd be more appealing if I'd get a ton of points and tokens at once.
and the "arbitrary date of the 23rd"......wasn't that around the date of i21 launch? Maybe the code is based on the launch day of the paragon market? hm -
Also don't the vetspecs not stack? Wouldn't the claim all button just eat them all then?

I was just on beta, I checked my main and the Nice Halo is still available. Under Auras>Halos>Nice Halo(or Nice Halo - Combat).
I didn't see the question about the vampire collar until I logged out and came to post this reply, so not sure about that one sorry. -
Quote:Noticed that and was looking for the option tooAm I the only one who is more upset that the lovely new boots the ladies got have no spurless option than the smallness of the rest of the outfit?

Quote:This is looking like the first costume set I won't buy. The pre-tint causing my costumes to look dramatically different at different graphics settings and making it impossible to mix and match has just gone too far.Quote:Passing.
Of course, they basically admitted these get done so far out that no feedback in beta really leads to any changes..
I also couldn't find the boots outside of the Pants option that the preset costume button set(couldn't find them in tights etc). I like a couple pieces of the set and might buy it, but only if that issue gets fixed.
I'm REALLY hoping the pieces are just bugged. They already tell us how to (not)farm, and how to earn XP correctly, and which trials to run how often(well tried to, then threatened us to change the playnumbers or have their change brought back)if they start telling us how to use costume set pieces to compose costumes that'll just be insane*imagines what the devs will come up with 6months from now*"I know, lets delete all the costume items and colors but black tights, fire the art team, and use the money saved to make other stuff. We aren't the best online game for character customization nooo, nobody will miss the costume creator." /sarcasm.
Quote:Well at least someone else is having the same problem - sorry misery loves company. Too bad they don't make sure they work before they sell it to us..
All year, and raised exponentially since Freedumb went live, the production plan has been quantity over quality. And as Zwill said, they aren't gonna fix anything because they're already working on i23. Then i23 will come with tons of sloppy bugs, but those won't have time to be fixed either because they'll be on i29. For god sakes I don't care if i22 doesn't come til next thanksgiving fix some stuff before putting in more, or at least stop rushing and make things less buggy from release so the bugs wouldn't be so apparent. -
Quote:This was suggested at the Player Summit when players were asked what grindy actions you "must" complete on every character on your way (or at) 50 you'd like to skip with a global points unlock, and Positron wrote it down. So if it isn't too much work it should be given to usIf you guys want ideas on points vs time saved, I would LOVE to have an account wide Midnighter Badge. I hate having to do that arc just to get to an entire zone and task force for every single character.

I watched the UStream of the panel and took some notes, I jotted down an exact quote for Gunslinger; "before the end of the year.".

Quote:Yeah, I'm not arguing they're one of the coolest things on the market, just that the price is nuts. I've been lazily playing around with a respec for main, which I dont do often, and I have the trays in my wishlist for the day I decide to do that. I've just been putting it off waiting for a sale.Although I'm cheerleading for price drops on tons of this stuff, I paid full price for enh trays day one, and would have paid more. Not only is it super convenient when coupled with the other boosts for things like crafting loads of enhancements at once, but you get 3x the space when you respec. Being able to respec 30 enhancements out instead of 10 is... precioussss. (And of course, an 800 point respec token was already cheaper than 10 unslotters for 900.)

Quote:I'll be happily contributing to his datamining he'll be doing next weekGhost Falcon has stated that if enough people like these prices that they may be the new permanent price for some of these consumables.

Quote:Whoo! Im gonna buy the PANCAKE outta these.
They were so expensive before I hoarded the ones I got for free as Paragon Rewards. I had to be sure I wouldnt waste them because I wasnt going to get any more.
I'm glad you put those IO sets on the Market as well... even though I spent last weekend blowing hundreds of millions of influence on 5 Kinetic Combat sets for my brute.
I would suggest selling some of those IOs individually. I'd sooner pay 200pts for a LotG +Recharge IO before I'd spend 400pts on that and a bunch of other IOs I'm not ever going to use.
And this.
Quote:Please please pretty please can you also put character slots and costume slots on sale too?Quote:From the sound of people in this thread, they would have liked to vote with their dollar concerning the price of storage items as well.. I dropped $100 on paragon points when Freedom launched, and even I still haven't made myself waste the points on the enhancement trays yet. IMO nothing in the market should cost more than 1 month of VIP($15 equivalent in points) unless it's utterly gamebreaking (aka FUN
).
I really hope these prices stick, the insps are finally reasonable for insps. I was thinking LotG and Numina would be on sale individually when I heard on ustream, seeing them "locked" into set packages is disappointing. I wish the ehancement trays were being price-tested in this manner, I doubt they can be selling too well. I think the prices for Costume Slots is ok, but it would've been nice to see that sale again anyway. And of course the massive neglect to character slots. If new powersets are gonna be pushed out more frequently these need to go on sale. And then after they go on sale the max per server will need to be expanded, because i'll be full again.
Quote:Ghetto Renames are 400 points - 2 server transfers at 200pp each. That's 50% off the 800pp Rename price.. That's just stupid. If people are willing to burn transfers they don't want so they can use it as a rename instead then stop throwing the stupid transfers at us and give us real rename tokens.

It will take awhile for people to realize what changed with the Keyes changes. I led one last week, and like 3 people died from Disintegration so I told them to yell in chat so we could focus heals on them.....their response was "Disintegration doesn't cause him to regen anymore dying doesn't matter"
. The changes did make the trial easier, but participants who got bad info on what the changes were are still causing it to fail by being lazy and letting AM kill them without effort to stay alive.

I wonder if it has to do with the inspiration nerf-on-zoning meant for AE, or the re-activated Studio B suppression that both happened with the last patch. Hmm
-
Cool, the Halloween Pack was put back on the market sometime after I had logged in after the maintenance and verified it was still missing.
That wasn't a wasted effort Devs, I just spent the 400 to get it. Thanks

I just tried testing this patch's fix. Logging in without the flag gave me the bad drivers popup still, and proceeding to the loginscreen still had the annoying red text.
I forgot to add to my previous posts that I've gotten the occasional in-game popup of "bad drivers you can't play" that boots you to the desktop. It seemed to happen when zoning, or adjusting my graphics settings(I've routinely played at Performance and lowered down to Minimum for iTrials and mothership raids, since the introduction of trials, not trying anything different).
I exited and applied the flag and launched without the popup, but the annoying text was still at the loginscreen. Only a real playtest when I feel like playing later will tell if the crash issue is fixed for me I guess. -
The Paragon Market changes it's listings around 12am PT on Tuesdays, I actually remembered I needed to hit the buy button on the halloween pack on my 2nd account still around 4am et today and hopped on asap and it appears to already be pulled
.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.
And I really don't like the idea of a "monthly stipend" and at least 2 things with a timed availability coming out per month. It's a dirty marketing trick to punish those with patience who'd wait for next month so they don't miss the item they want that will be gone by then. -
Quote:Didn't CuppaJo start as a player and get redname status for something at some point?Hmm.
There were two forum volunteers introduced a while back, and I could have sworn one of them was you. Hmm, hmm. I wonder who they were. *chin scratch*
And I guess with it being so late in the afternoon the possible patch for the UI bug we were warned could get patched this afternoon won't be patched this afternoon, but postponed to likely tuesday AM? It would be nice if this could be in that publish to get these players back in-game, but after your explanation of "sending out" the publishes for NC to prep to distribute I guess that's not possible(I previously wasn't aware patches were "sent" to someone to end up hitting our patchers, I thought the Paragon Studios NorCal team released them to us, that explains the need for timetables then.).
btw thanks for the confirmation this is being looked at.

I also agree with this complaint and haven't gotten the ambition to detail it out myself. Pre-tinting is horrible. Sure if you pick the same color swatch as the dev that drew it it'll look 10x better than any other swatch, but if you DON'T want that color chances are the piece will look like crap, and not match with anything
.
Yeah Steampunk didn't fit any of my character themes(I personally hate retro/vintage/just-plain-old stuff) so I didn't buy it. I love the CCEs and victorian aura and got those with points, but after seeing how you pretty much can't change the color of ANY of the actual costume pieces thanks to the preview-before-purchase character creation screen I'm in no rush to pick it up to fill that completionist hole I have for now. -
Yup. I PMd a redname about the havoc the new modified suggested driver list is causing, and also sent them a link to the first thread created about it where people are chiming in if they're affected, this one; http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=277874
