Cool boots! What are they?

Does anyone know what are the boots and gloves on the character in the Titan Weapons splash screen in the game launcher? This is the rather ominous-looking character with the minotaur axe, the hood, the skull mask, the skull belt, (organic armor pants?), and with red and gold themed costume. I've searched in the costume creator for them, but no luck.

Thanks.

Those are the Ascension boots, paid for by Astral Merits.

The Ascension set is for Lv50s only. By that i mean you have to get to 50 before you can claim them out of your mail

On the plus side, once you buy them they're unlocked for all level 50 characters on your account, and any new characters that reach 50.

And I'm guessing based on joindate the OP is a VIP, but for anyone else who comes across this thread Astral Merits are a reward only obtainable from incarnate content, which is only available to play on VIP accounts.

That's a question I hadn't thought of though. If you drop from VIP to Premium, you can no longer run Incarnate content and your incarnate powers are greyed out.

...But do you get to keep your boots? I'd guess yes?

Yes, in fact Zwillinger specifically mentioned this. HOWEVER you obtain a costume part (Astral Merits, limited time offer, Tier 9 VIP, etc) they will never take it away. In fact, there is no system in the game by which they would even be able to do so.

There was a discussion on one of the global channels I'm in, well not really a discussion but someone saying that since they went F2P they can no longer access their Halo aura. In addition, they were told (I don't know who by) that if they had a costume with a halo and changed it they would lose the halo.

I don't know if the story they were spinning was true or not, but I guess f2p may lose any 'crafted' costume pieces, can anyone confirm or deny this?

Not true. There's currently a bug with the Halo auras not showing up when they should, and that means that changing a costume that has a halo will cause it to disappear (because the costume editor can't find it). But it doesn't mean that the halos have been taken away or removed from the account. When the bug is fixed, that player will be able to add the halo right back to any character who has the aura unlocked.

Same story with Wisps, by the way.

It's possible to lose access to "free to VIP" costume pieces by dropping from VIP to Premium (the Imperial Defense set, for example), but that just means it will be locked in the character editor, so you can't "finish" creating or changing a costume that has a locked piece. Costumes that already have those pieces are still available.

It's also possible to "lose access" to crafted costume pieces in the sense that, if going Premium means losing access to the invention system altogether, you won't be able to craft more. But any already-created pieces will still be available.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

That would make a lot more sense than what she was saying, thanks.
