No Nuke?!?!?!
But... But...
Jokingthough as a kin you have the best nuke in the game: because you can use Fulcrum Shift, then nuke, pop a single small blue insp, fire off transference and siphon speed (just to keep the speed up
) and you're straight back in there, fighting, buffing and healing as if nothing has happened (because there is always something left alive, whether you missed it or simply didn't kill it outright). It is a fantastic power, it doesn't need stamina at all, and it's saved my life and my teams life just as much (since I hit 38 anyway) as Transfusion has. But then, I'm addicted to it and use it on pretty much every other mob (or every third, depending on how fast the team is going)
I realise it isn't to everyone's taste, but I *strongly* recommend at least testing it on the test server. There is nothing to make you feel uber like a fulcrum shifted nuke!
EDIT: Oh, and stealth can be very helpful for a kin (for when you get just a *litle* bit too close by accident...) if you're looking for filler slots. I haven't bothered with the medicine pool at all, getting the res feels too much like planning to fail for meplus as a kin in the late game you can get away without it, people don't really seem to expect "Defeneder = Healer + Rezzer" in the late game, thank god.

(I don't fancy "You didn't heal me because you were doing WHAT?" from the team)

Kin is indeed a very busy and fast build, but I've never had a team complaining that I've taken advantage of my Fulcrum Shift as well and am helping to mow down whatever poor buggers we're fighting. After all, noone will complain about higher damage output, and the faster the enemies go down, the fewer heals you'll need
On the heals side, I'm a bit of a suicidal defender (debt badges FTW!!!) so I'm always right in there with the scrappers and tanks, so although I keep an eye on everyone's health I find that generally its my health that drops first and fastest, and if I keep myself alive I'll be keeping others alive and healthy too. Apart from those pesky blasters, obviously(but then I'll often step out of the battle and see if there are any enemies near the blaster that I can use as well)

Psi doens't have the accolade but has/had access to them last time I played with his cossie on test. Think it was right at the bottom of the shoulder pad list, but I'll check if I get chance.
Oh, and did Sister Psyche last nightso just Synapse I need now. Might actually organise one later on this week I think...
-
Well thats what I figured too, but wanted to cover all the bases. Still, there must be some people out there who haven't done all the basic ones... Right?
-
Seeing as there is the new accolade coming in i7 for completing all the TF's in the game (for heroes I think it's just the Freedom Phalanx given ones, please correct me if I'm wrong though), and I like (I hope) many other have done lots of TF's but still missed a few.
So, I thought it might be a good idea to post on this thread what TF's you still need for it so we can organise it on here and get a good team, rather than try it with an awful PuGI realize i7 is a way off yet, but some TF's might take a while to organise, so I thought I'd start the ball rolling now.
For my part, I need Synapse, Sister Psyche and the Shadow Shard 2 TF's.
So what do you need? -

Go Kinetic you wont regret it =)

lol Gonna put that in my sig!So true!

It was amazing fun, but I still can't believe how much I died!
Or the fact I can now say I tanked an AV...
-
I'll be there again
(Though I keep seeing the "only the very high levels need apply" bit and thinking 'oh, thats me out then... oh no wait!')

<snip> ... Is the Leadership Pool worth getting or as the buffs don't stack should I gamble on someone else in the group having the skills. ... <snip>
[/ QUOTE ]
Could be wrong about what you mean here, but the buffs from Leadership power pools *do* stack between team members and even if you just happen to be standing near someone with their toggles on in Atlas - this is one of the main points of the pool. The more people have it the better the boost from them!
If you knew that and I misunderstood, then sorry and I'll shut up now -
@ Aviator - I got the Multidimensional badge mission today, if you still need it. Or anyone else for that matter
Either PM me here or send a tell ingame to @Psionetic.
-
Heh, I faceplanted a lot as well... almost as much as you
but thats because I have a bad habit of running in to the enormous mob to use Fulcrum Shift (oh FS how I love thee
) and then sticking around to enjoy the benefits... And then admire that delightful carpet you've laid there, Mr Overseer-giant-eyeball-thingy.
-
I'm in with Psionetic
should be lvl 42 by then too. Plus, I have fly, TP and recall friend.
-
At first I thought they were quite interesting, but the more I think about it, the more I think "Why bother?" My MM is robo/dark, so he already has a group hold and a single target hold, what does he want with yet more immobs and holds? What I was hoping for was some damage powers, and while there are some, they all seem to be cone. Now, why give the squishiest AT a power that will grab *lots* of aggro?! Just seems daft to me...
(I'm not knocking holds or immob powers, they just weren't what I had been hoping for.)
EDIT: But then my MM is only lvl 25, so I've got lots of time to think about it -
Tufty - that was exactly what I was after, thanks
Cognito - well, even now at 25 I find myself running out of end in fights, especially when soloing because I usually heal off pretty much every enemy (for the tohit debuff mainly) as well as having shadowfall running constantly and tar pit, and using Darkest Night on bosses up. As for Leadership, if I took it I'd definitely want stamina, but I can't fit both in my buildBy the way, anyone know how leadership numbers for MM's compare to Defender numbers?
It was also the travel power pool I was concerned about though. Unless I'm on a hunt (which I generally try to avoid) movement outside isn't really an issue (though I am a bit of a speed freak), its more about moving through indoor missions for me, hence contemplating taking SS to speed things up and to get it to stack with shadowfall (I think...).
Thanks again all of you -
Hi all. Was hoping someone could give me some ideas about my robo/dark MM (currently lvl 25), mainly with the power pools. I haven't taken any of my primary attacks, mainly because I need stamina as it is without any attacks of my own. As a result, I'm set on stamina but the other power pools im not sure about. In theory recall friend sounds useful, but since I got it I've only used it occasionally for team mates, and never for the Robos.
Have tried out SS and hasten on test and they seem useful, especially for the faster setup at the start of missions and heal coming up faster when fights start to go wrong, and I *think* the SS stacks with Shadowfall but I'm not really sure if it's worth it... I have Super Jump atm and think I might miss the vertical movement aspect
Any suggestions? Also, if anyone thinks I've done hideously wrong feel free to point that out to

EDIT: my hero planner seems to be missing a few Enhancement options, so for Prot Bots, one of the dam res enhances should be a heal, and for Repair it should be a recharge. Ta -
Put me down for the Friday slot too please
I'll bring along my /kin too if I may.
(Double Speed Boosting should help speed things up a bit too)
-
Well that was what I was really thinking, but din't want to seem *too* self-sufficient...
-
I think you mean Increased Density
it slows you down but protects from mez effects and gives a little +res to smashing and lethal I think. Personally I only use it as a reaction to 'zzz' from other people, since the duration is so small there is no way I'm even gonna try to perma it, especially on large teams.
Just goes to show you can never please anyone - people don't want Speed Boost because they overshoot targets, you don't want Increase Density because you stop too quickly... Will the madness never end?(Joking, btw)
-
I'm so close to hitting 40 I can almost taste it, and I got to thinking: I'm planning on getting the Mind Epic Power Pool, and I know it's a sleep power. So, do powers like transfusion, transference and fulcrum shift wake up a sleeping enemy? (I'm liking 3 slot it with accuracy, then put a group to sleep, heal/replensih end as necessary from last group, position blasters, fulcrum shift, then blaster/s go nova
) Would it work?
TIA! -
Not directed at anyone, just genral thoughts. I've noticed more people not wanting Speed Boost as well - I recently teamed with a /Stone tank who didn't want it!
I nearly fell off my chair! Also, I respecced Speed Boost and Increase Density out of my kin build for a while (hadn't teamed for a while, my SG had recently splintered, had barely used them and didn't want to feel like a buff-bot), and regretted it almost straight away. Suffice to say I respecced them both back in ASAP (which was about 10 lvls later
). I still hate to feel like a buff-bot, so tend not to advertise the fact that I have SB and treat it more like Fortitude, and prioritise who I think will need/benefit the most from it. I always keep any stone tank SB'd (unless they tell me not to, obviously), and then try to keep it on blasters and defenders next whenever I think about it for the +regen. Plus of course I cast it on anyone who requests it
But then I've built more of an Offender build so spend as much time buffing as I do attacking myself (just love to get in there, throw out Fulcrum Shift, and blast away at point blank range
).
Whenever I'm leader - which isn't often, I don't like the responsibility much - and I search for other people I just search for AT, which powersets people have don't bother me at all. I figure an empath will be as much use as any other defender, exactly as with other AT's, for all the pro's and cons outlined so well by others in this thread.
My personal take on the empath vs. other defender sets is that it's psychological - if people in a team know they have an Empath for a 'safety net' they will be more reckless and *need* more healing, whereas if they don't have an Empath people tend to be a little more safety conscious off their own back.
All IMHO of course. -
I'd like to come if I may
Though I too will be TP-less I'm afraid, I will have Speed Boost
-
Just bear in mind that if you do go for Stamina (AKA that endurance thingimie
) you'll respec out of it as soon as you get transference
(Mind you that won't be til 38 because it's a secondary, but still...) -
Nefarious - Thanks
Going to get that now!
Lord_Qel_Thyr - 500?! Guess I'd better get a-killing then eh?
Thanks again!
