  1. Suggestions for idling the time away:

-Get a Shivan Shard, twice over just for the heck of it.
    -Help others get Shivans
    -Hinder others from getting Shivans
-Get in arguments on global channels
    -Cyber
    -Mexican Standoff Dance Party
-Go on fun adventures with your new Shivan
    -Hunt for badges

    Can't decide...

Actually, I think TA/Arch is one of the better solo Defenders, since most of your primary attacks are debuffs and mezzes that are handy against enemies teamed or solo.

The Stone/Stone tank will be ridiculously slow to solo, even by Tanker standards.
  3. And those higher-level enemies have more and more annoying powers- powerful attacks, AoEs, mezzes, debuffs, even basic knockback can be insane when they don't have any protection.
  4. Selling inf officially would just massively inflate the problems that RMT already creates- the game turns into a stark divide between the people willing to shell out for Inf, and the people who won't or can't afford to. Imagine if pretty much the only way to afford purples was to pay real money. The market skyrockets, players get annoyed, nobody's happy. We already pay $15 a month, why should be pay more to play a game?
  5. In this game, you never need a spreadsheet. Especially with Masterminds. All of the sets will turn you into a steamroller before you know it. Relax.
  6. What he said. The damn things could crash your computer when clicked and it could go unreported for weeks.
  7. OP, you are correct. Farming is boring.
  8. As I said, Day Jobs is really the most useful when you're juggling alts. Leave one for a few days to play another, and it'll be saving up Day Job time.
  9. Just because the AE became popular for farming, doesn't mean the devs will accept that. If they could delete every single farming mission and feature from the AE without hurting storytelling content, they most likely would.

Do what you want, just don't assume you're being backed up.
  10. The IRS realised that taxing video game money would be taxing Monopoly money.

That's another issue- RMTers could be part of a money laundering scheme. Using RMT services may not only get you banned, and possibly having your credit card and identity stolen, but you could end up arrested for aiding criminal activity.

Never been a fan of TFs myself, they're always either grueling endurance tests or moving at such speeds that I have no idea what the hell we're doing. There's never an in-between, and I certainly don't care about them enough to start my own team. I'll do them occasionally when invited, but I have to be in a certain mood and in need of the badge too, a very rare occurrence.

Players that run the same TF multiple times just make me boggle. Obviously they can do whatever they want, but clearly they and I have nothing in common.

Back when it seems everyone was in AE all the time, and threads popped up lamenting a lack of teams, there were always posters saying something like "Untrue, I did two TFs just today!" To which I always thought, Great, that's wonderful, so I'll just be over here soloing I suppose. Obviously this is all my own issue, so I can't complain...too loud. (Edited to add: I did get on my fair share of non-TF non-AE teams, it just struck me as funny that the choices, if you just went by the forums, seemed to be either AE or TF.)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Of course people do them more than once, it's the best way to get the hang of them, and see all the stuff you might have missed.

Sounds like you need to try some of the better Task Forces and Trials. The Respec Trial might be a good beginner.

Well there's your problem. Day Jobs don't even kick in if you log off for less than 24 hours, I think.

[/ QUOTE ]Nope. They register even if you log out and immediately log back in after only a few seconds.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well, for about 2 seconds of time anyway. Timed ones probably expire by the time you finish loading your entry zone, if your computer's as slow as mine.

Point is, to make meaningful progress on Day Jobs, you gotta be logged off for weeks in total.
  13. Exactly. RMTs are generally ways for people to get easy money, or among the lower-end activities of criminal syndicates. It'd be up to police to stop them, not lawyers.
  14. Most people wouldn't know, because nobody uses them at all, honestly. You'll notice that there are absolutely none in City of Villains, a refined version of Paragon City. They don't really supply any useful information... it'd be nice if they were reworked as one-stop help files explaining game mechanics or the background behind the zone they're in, or something...
  15. If I wanted a grind, I'd go play Everquest.

Raise the difficulty level so larger mobs spawn.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So, 3-4 instead of 2-3?

    I think we're talking 16 man mobs.

Even without XP, it'd be nice to melt some piles without having to work to generate them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So you want to be able to make easy farms. Sorry, You'll just have to make do with what you can make with the MA.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is about a crazy challenge with giant mobs and NO exp. You know for those of us that 3-4 guys are nothing.(I'm looking at you Brutes and scrappers)

The OP said right in the main suggestion that it would be fine with no exp. This is challenge purposes not not farm purposes. How would you go about farming a mission when no rewards are given?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I can't wait to see people in this forum demanding those missions give rewards.
  17. Since when is Dual Pistols going to be anything like AR, besides that they both do Lethal damage (partly and presumably) and use weapons? Have you ever even played AR? It's got a single-target stun, two Fire attacks, and a smashing/lethal AoE.
  18. Funny thing, during the height of the Meow fiasco, the only non-farm teams I could find were Task Forces. Did a Synapse and something else I forgot.

    i want a thugs/empathy

fortitude is still the best buff in the game, and you can easily slot it to keep it up on three people at a time.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Alas, with Pain Domination we're unlikely to get it.

Just seems to show how dumb the 'healer' mentality is, when Empathy has some of the best buffs.

    So, Demons?

I think it's more like that in comics, do an evil mastermind's minions really have an even male/female ratio? A team of soldiers are pretty much always guys, female ninjas are usually the rarer, most skilled femme fatale type, street gangs are an all boys' club (this is evident in the enemy groups as well). While for zombies it's not really relevant, and completely so with robots.

You don't have to go into discrimination to explain why we don't have female minions. There's plenty of thematic and practical reasons.
  21. Nothing is useful if the team is standing around doing nothing. I don't see your point.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I was merely pointing out that this thread had no point.

    Carry on.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You're not gonna ever be able to stop doing that on these boards.
  23. Hey, I can think of some compelling plots that involve 4 Lord Recluses in a bank.

By 'compelling' I mean 'zany', but still.

    The Coming Storm

    [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
i have a sad sinking feeling that this ouroboros "coming storm" question will never be answered and that ouroboros will never be looked at agian; just like the Shadow Shard.

although i'd like for there to be a link in the two

    [/ QUOTE ]
Do the Darrin Wade arc villain side, Shadow shard isnt completely forgotten.

    [/ QUOTE ]
There's a lot of tie-ins to the Shadow Shard with the Midnight Squad.

The only reason the Shard's been abandoned for so long is because it was a failed idea, nobody wants to go there. Ouroboros is still plenty popular.

Now the real question I have here is this: Is Creativity more important to you with this system than overall rewards such as exp and tickets?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, creativity is not more important. I am in the game to level, or gain other rewards, be they direct or indirect. I will put up with missions of mind-numbing boringness to level up, especially between 45-50.

My guesstimate is that about 98% of current playerbase feels exactly the same way. Just a guess, mind you. If it has a good story, or a good map, great. But I can overlook the lack of that for great xp.

    [/ QUOTE ]
...if you REALLY think that 98% of the playerbase are willing to put up with mindless tedium rather than actually have fun, than I must be that 2%.
