All you're truly doing while PvPing is attempting to beat the snot out of some cheap enemy that won't stop running away while working on a badge.

    Get rid of the PvP badges OR implement a higher death timer (i.e. 24 hours)

    or

    Keep the badges "as is," acknowledging their uselessness outside of collecting... and institute on infinite, yet eventually downgraded, rep point system. This way, Rep can mean something. Now, once you hit 400, you get a badge. You're done. Yay. Your "worth" isn't measured at all in any meaningful or rewarding way.

  5. You guys do a great job on this game and deserve kudos, no doubt. Sure it has it's issues, but what game doesn't?
  6. Why is it some of you guys feel the need to bring up this crap in every thread he makes? Guys, he's using friggin' Shivans and inspirations. Look at the damn screeshot!
    The only thing in danger of nerfing here are Shivans and inspirations. Give it a damn rest already.
  7. Dark Armor has received it's fair share of love and nerfage over the years. No more or less than any other Scrapper set (save Regen).
    I assume Soul Transfer now roots because it does damage... though it all kinda evens out! At least you can re-toggle a lot faster without those rooting you

  10. I gotta say, I'm really liking the new approach to power designs and rooting! Will this new method also be applied to powers that do damage and hold/stun/etc? If so, I hafta ask... will there be some sort of uniformity between these powers?
    As a common example: Ice Blast and Sonic Blast - Ice doesn't spend much time rooted in place. Sonic is nearly hair-pullingly frustrating with it's attack roots. This disparity isn't so obvious (to me anyway) in PvE, but is a blatant imbalance between the sets in PvP.
    The list could go on and on, but I thought I'd use this example because it's one I'm personally familiar with. Now, I know some of these powers are somewhat balanced around their animation times (at least that's a rumor I heard), but your input on this would be appreciated

    The damage isn't really all that different from most other Blaster primaries. At least as far as the two main single target attacks are concerned. That and the attacks are all energy. I think what people mean when they say this is Electric is lacking a third shorter range "powerhouse" single target attack. We get Sparky instead, which does suck pretty bad in PvP, admittedly.

    The only beefs I have with Electric Blast in PvP are the rooting animations. other than that, it's pretty sweet, if used to it's full potential... and I've got a buttload of experience with it.

    Factoid: I've used the handle ProcessedMeatMan on messageboards, chats and things like that for yeeeeaaars before this game came out. The name was derived from my nickname "Ham" which all my friends call me.
  14. My opinion of CoX PvP = Wasted Potential.
    When something as simple and non-defining as a frikkin' power pool choice determines the viability of your character in PvP, nevermind what your actual power sets are, it's an indication that the imbalances go way too deep to ever be truly fixed.
    Sure, getting the bugs out of the Arena and Base Raids will help to a small degree, but I just don't see PvP ever being a big draw in this game, unfortunately. Mostly due to the lack of balance, both real and perceived.
  15. I'm curious... is it plausible, at all, to develop an option that would enable other players to visit another SG's base on a whim? I dunno... have a separate kiosk that lists every "guest enabled" SG base on the server (let's separate Heroes and Villains, of course) and allow for entry. I think that would be pretty dang cool.
    Not only that... but I'd like to see these kiosks take the form of faux buildings, that way we could at least pretend that our base isn't floating around Pocket D or somewhere.

    The only reason I used a freespec was right before I7, none of my heroes had used theirs before, I knew you can only bank one freespec, and for many I had a "wish I'd taken X instead of Y" lingering for a long time. So what the heck.

    But some people have respecced every time it's available and still want more. I'm like you, MissInformed, I don't get it.

    I like altering some of my characters abilities every now and then without having to re-roll another character with the same powersets.

    Not that it matters. Everyone approaches this game with their own method of gameplay. So, there really isn't anything "to get."

    Actually, a few months after States told us stories of his Gravity Controller, we got an AoE Wormhole and reduced animation times.

  22. Be they bugs or intended, is this really a problem?

    I think it would be great... nay, superb if Hamidon's AI and the strategies needed to defeat him/it were rendered obsolete every issue or two. As it stands now (err, as of I6 anyway), Hamidon is a joke. It's so boring to do. It's the same thing over and over and over. Revamping the encounter will keep it interesting. It should be done more often!

  24. So, does anyone have a hypothetical time frame for getting this thing the RV way?

    What's the spawn rate? Are they only in one spot? How long do you think it would probably take?
