  1. I made a quick PB build for a friend the other day and noticed that they do have some pretty hefty recharge on most of their melee attacks so I had to use the first tier blast to fill out the melee attack chain as that is always up.

As for the KB I think it can be used well, but anyone who opens with a massive KB (IE: FAR FAR FAR too many PB's) is playing badly, its not necessarily the AT.

    Big Boots

    [ QUOTE ]
Words cannot describe how much I hate the Enforcer boots.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Agreed
  3. Oh I don't think anyone under-estimates Siphon Speed, its the only thing that lets me get perma-PA on my Ill/Kin and I am a recharge freak.

But it is quite possible to skip it without ruining a build and without your team mates asking why you haven't taken a key power as if you didn't take Fulcrum Shift.

I would NEVER advise anyone to skip it under normal circumstances, but I think Kinetics is something everyone should experience at some point and felt quite sad to see Knightly giving up before he got up high enough to see all the powers.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
In a TF you miss half the conversation if you are not the teamleader. A shame really.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah that is a bit sad, and I actually like the Katie Hannon TF too, but the fact it is ghostable has reduced the rewards to almost nil. I do not want to see the same happening to all the other TF's too.

I guess some kind of reward vs % of mobs killed system would be nice, modified by difficulty too. So killing all on all missions at 5th diff would net 100% of the available reward and ghosting to kill only 1% on 1st would only net you 0.5% of the possible reward.
  5. Shortening a very long TF is one thing, shortening a TF that doesnt take over 2hours or making an AV easier is another.

I think all TF's should be balanced to hit the 2 hour mark and wouldn't object to Posi being rebalanced to hit that. Though currently I am perfectly happy with it considering the merit reward payoff you get at the end.

But Romulus does not need toning down, there are various tactics that if performed even half well make him very easy.

The easiest answer is just don't go in with a bad team makeup rather than trying to drag the enemies down to your level.

And to whoever it was saying they get stunned every time: You have I think 2 seconds to get out of line of sight of all the Nictus before that stun, so just leap down off the raised bit.
  6. To add to the above I don't mind if there are missions 'designed' for ghosting and rewards adjusted accordingly. I just hate seeing people speed run things like Katie Hannon and having it end up almost rewardless.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Indeed Ghosting should be doable even in TF's. Removing them won't do much to make the TF harder as well. It only makes them longer and more boring.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Skipping to the end and missing 90% of the content in a mission just makes you miss the content. And its the content that actually make the missions fun. If you find a TF tedious then don't do the TF (Or read the story and try to feel part of it) rather than trying to skip through it quickly or it will just result in overall lower rewards for everyone.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
You can have a Kin build without Siphon Speed but it is one of the jewels of the set and having Hasten doesn't negate the need for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I count it as a jewel as I love the power but a /kin can manage quite easily without it. Fulcrum Shift and Transference are the real jewels, which sadly it seems that Knightly hasn't yet experienced.

I would seriously advise just skipping Siphon Speed and seeing how you get on otherwise, because until you have revelled in Fulcrum Shift you do not know the power!

I had lots of low level kins that got deleted due to the SB pl0x requests but eventually stuck it out and love it sooooo much.
  9. What Praf said.

I have dropped about 20 purples in my time but have several purpled out characters financed by just doing lots and lots of TF's. Each TF now is worth more in merits than 1 random roll (Or most TF's anyway) so you can earn inf and have fun!

And I never farm. No matter how many farming maps you have it is boring to never complete a mission.
  10. Any /Willpower scrapper probably.

Maybe Fire primary as its all about damage. My DB/WP scrapper never has downtime and the only mobs I don't like a sappers. Even carnies aren't so much hassle.
  11. I should have been clearer actually GrinningSpade, I have nothing against ghosting normal missions (It's what my Bane does best) but I was talking about TF missions where ghosting just cuts down on completion time and in the long term leads to less rewards for everyone else.
  12. I quite like the idea of a 'monster attack' powerset, but powers like feed and bite wont look good until we have mouths that can move.

The immob after the T9 is also a bit OTT and dangerous.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
No the Universal Enhancement slots were slots that would be applied to your character as opposed to your individual powers then what was placed in these slots would effect all your powers so if you slotted a UE slot wit damage, the damage of all your attacks would rise.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I can forsee some serious overpowerment issues with this. One damage IO giving as much boost as up to 15ish slots sounds nice but in practice will be overpowered. Especially if you are getting more than one slot here.

I just can't see more slots being needed, and that comes from a Warshade player.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I would like to see travel powers suppressed in some areas of the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I would rather just see mission objectives that cannot be ghosted. Maybe not kill alls as that would get tedious but "Kill the boss and 100 mobs" rather than just "Kill the boss". And more "Click 4 glowies together" rather than "Click glowie".

Actually I would go so far as to set a minimum time limit on missions and punish those who are too fast. Ghosting does nobody any favours.

TP supression would just hurt the stonies.
  15. ITF:
The 10 shadow cysts mission is excellent and I would hate to see if cut in half because some of you can't be bothered to defeat all 10. Hell why not have just 1, surely after that you have proved you can do it and should be spared the bother of doing it again?
10 keeps the mission a good length, means the team have to pay attention even longer and since the crystals are fun I would rather have 20 than 5.
And there is nothing wrong with Romulus. I have never had an issue with him caused by him, so nerfing him will not help. Its the Nictus around him that provide the challenge and without them he is weak.

    Posi:
Of all the missions to remove why this one? Its some of the CoT missions that make it tedious on poor teams.

    Numina:
That sounds like you have a personal issue with the scout rather than a real reason.

And onto your comment of: Can't he not go and get this himself? Is it really that hard?

The same can be said for a lot of the missions. Are you just plain lazy?
  16. Why don't you just not pick Siphon Speed? I have found /Kin to be a wonderful set (Hitting 38 on my Ill/Kin was a revelation!) but if you can't get on with the movement speed just ignore it. Picking up Hasten and recharge set bonus' can negate the need for Siphon Speed anyway.
  17. I thought the fire pool had been deemed strong enough without adding another power?

Onto the question in hand: Fire Mastery has Fireball! Which combined with Fulcrum Shift + Containment deals rediculous damage since contaiment effectively gives you a 600% damage cap against held foes.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
I'm sure we'll continue to prompt you PD

    [/ QUOTE ]
    *facepalm*
  19. I just want to add that not only was it a great run, but we even managed it with an Energy Blaster, Scrapper and a Warshade in the same team! So those I read doom mongering about certain AT's are being a bit too cautious imho.

Also on a personal level I have just been prompted to Palmprint (2nd) so will probably be posting on here a lot more often now!
  20. For an actual list of power you are probably better off looking for something like Mids Hero Planner (Not sure the link, just google it) and you can use that to look at and compare the different power sets.
  21. I haven't heard anything about an AI rewrite and tbh very much doubt it is going to happen (I think I got carried away in my last post), but I would rather see enemy buffs than self-debuffs. I worked hard to get my characters to where they are and losing that defeats the whole point of that effort.

I agree the most realistic thing they can do 'easily' is to add an extra layer above invincible, but I think even that would still get steamrollered by the teams I get in mostly.

Rather than that though I would like to see more difficult TF's being introduced with slightly random elements and no easy get arounds. For example the Nictus at the end of the ITF could spawn in a random order and the healer could refuse to get out of range or LoS. Or instead of a random order there could be 10 different types of Nictus and three of them will spawn randomly so you never know what you are going to get.

I would also like to see AV's (And mobs in general) hitting more regularly (So they could go after a 'squishy' for a while and not just 1 or 2 shot them) instead of massive attacks with large gaps in between. The overall DPS should remain the same though.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
How about the previously questionnaired Universal Enhancement Slots?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You mean enhancements that can go into ANY power?

That could work but because so many powers do different things I am not sure what abilities they would have to enhance? And I would say they should be like purples: hard to get and unique, but work at all levels.
  23. I am all for an extra level of difficulty but even doing that probably isn't enough. Having a good knowledge of what is going to spawn, where and when makes the game soo much easier considering the awful AI the enemies have.

The enemies really need an AI rewrite rather than just making them higher level (More mobs will make no difference to most of the AoE heavy teams I get in). I want to see mobs coming to the aid of their friends and not just standing around watching, running off to set of alarms, to bring friends etc. Random spawn points would be another good touch instead of everything scripted in a linear fashion.

Proper AV's! I am tired of an AV being something that just stand there pounding on the tank for 3 minutes while the rest of the team safely takes it out. Even giving an AV an AoE isn't a real danger to the team. And things like god-modes do not make things more challenging, they make things tedious. The AV's should have a wide array of powers that they use sensibly, as opposed to just whenever they are up, they should be made so that they can't just one shot every squishy (Which is annoying) but have the AI where they will at least try and put a hold on the healer before going back to pounding on the tank, or even outright go for the healer/debuffer by default and make tanks work hard to keep aggro (I 'tank' LR by standing in front of him with taunt on auto, that is not working hard). They should have attacks that cause less damage, but become more prone to doing the unexpected.

As for those saying we should pick the Ouro handicaps I have two things to say:
1 - I have ran a lot of them with the 'buffed enemy' options and it makes little to no difference, and
2 - I am not going to spend ages making a good build just to throw it away with a 'gimp myself' option, I might as well play without attacks if I want to make it harder, but that is artificial difficulty not real challenge.
  24. The game is already far too easy and you can make very powerful characters with a bit of thought and planning. Wanting extra slots just sounds to me like you want the benefits of a good build without putting in the time to plan it properly. With the time and effort I put into my builds I want to know that it was all worth it and that someone can't just lazily get a similar build by virtue of having more slots.

As for extra abilities bought with xp earned past lvl 50 that is just making characters more powerful, which is pointless as there is already very little real challenge in the game and some toons can solo almost everything without giving them more abilities.

Praf's idea of using power picks for slots could possibly make sense, but that would need some serious balancing (I think picking 1 power for 1 slot is ok, but not 2 slots per power pick), and extra slots for nothing is just a no-no.
  25. PrincessDarkstar

    forcefields PFF

And with bots as a primary and I think Black Scorpion patron you can have capped S/L without IO bonus' so don't really need PFF (I respecced out of it)
