Which epic pool for my controller?
I thought the fire pool had been deemed strong enough without adding another power?
Onto the question in hand: Fire Mastery has Fireball! Which combined with Fulcrum Shift + Containment deals rediculous damage since contaiment effectively gives you a 600% damage cap against held foes.
British by act of union, English by grace of God, Northern by pure good fortune!
Fireball is good. But the rest of Fire is a bit meh IMO, the shields are nice but are Resistance based, so you'll still be hit.
Fissure is excellent (but not as big an AOE, Range or Damage as Fireball), the %stun will stack with Flashfire, and Earth now gets the Seismic Smash too, which does excellent damage and will hold a boss. Plus Earths Embrace is nice to have and so is the rock armour as its +Defense (although it does look bad. I actually lucked out, it melds with my character cossie fairly well)
If you're volcano based I'd go Earth myself (I did on my Fire/Rad and its lots of fun, works well with any controller who needs to be in close anyway).
I think Aid Self is better than any of the epic armors.

On a Fire/Kin?
I tend skip them as well though, my Fire/Rad is the only one who has taken an epic armour, mostly because it was taken before they added Seismic Smash.
Earths is one of the nicer ones though as it gives some chance of deflecting some melee attacks with sneaky mezzes built into them.
Greetings!
My volcano-themed fire/kinetics controller reached level 41 this weekend, and I'm not sure which epic pool I want to open for him.
I'm considering fire (more fire effects certainly fit the theme) and stone (since volcanoes are known for, among other things, throwing rocks around).
With fire I don't seem to need Consume, so basically I get two attacks and an armor. With stone, I will absolutely NOT take the rock armor (since it clashes horribly with my costume), but the other abilities all seem to be fine (actually, I'm not sure whether I'd get enough slots for the other four. ).
Since I haven't had any real experience with either set I'd like your opinion. Are there compelling reasons to take one over the other?
By the way, is there already some information about which new power will be inserted into the fire epic pool?
Thanks for any opinions,
