My bots MM has the tier 2 attack (single slotted, with force feedback chance for +rch) just to spam for the potential proc..
I'm with you on the whole 'afk' feel, and I prefer having at least 1 attack so I'm actively doing something, this was especially true on my Bots/FF, but my Bots/Traps I'm finding a bit more active. -
I would personally just reroll a brute of some sort,
read this post, and you should have it in the 20s in short order ;
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=263212
Also, don't worry too much about hitting the soft-cap, anywhere in the 30s should be efficient, since during farming you'll be getting a plethora of inspirations, and you can chew purples to keep it up around 45% -
"I like saving the world, and clicking on bombs!"
Best line ever. -
Quote:[*] Significant advances in the horsepower of tablets. Right now, while they're perfectly good for doing graphically tame stuff, to build a full 3D game with any bells and whistles at all, it would take faster processors, more memory, more video capabilities, etc. Eventually, tablets will catch up to the current level of technology of laptops and desktops, but of course by the time they do, laptops and desktops of that time will be much more advanced as well, and we may very well have gotten more graphical updates to the game client.[/list]
This. Tablets are great for what people generally use them for. But there's some programs out there that require some serious horsepower, and not just in the gaming-world.
Even if you *could* squeeze in a beefy processor and Video Card into a tablet, its battery life is going to be 2 minutes. -
The twisted part of my mind has always wondered just what would happen in bed between a Super and a Normy..
Then I saw Hancock.. -
Tool to predict player behavior? I imagine the majority of player behavior in an MMO boils down to this;
Player finds quickest way to get from Point A to Point B
Player exploits said way
Devs nerf the method
Player gripes, cries, and threatens to quit..
Player finds the next quickest way from Point A to Point B.
Player gets to goal, cries there is nothing to do.
Player either quits, cries for moar content, or rolls an alt.. Rinse repeat. -
Quote:I have noticed the same thing, Acid Motor is always on top, followed by my Assault Bot.As far as I can tell, the list is alphabetical by power name. Acid Mortar will always be at the top. Seekers will always be just above Zombies and Thugs.
I wouldn't mind as much if all the traps were on the bottom, them being intermixed is the most annoying thing..
It's not a huge issue really, just a nagging nuisance that I was hoping I could rid of. -
I didn't have my hopes very high, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask..

Heya folks,
Rolling up a /Traps MM and I'm liking it so far.. But one thing kind of annoys me..
That's seeing my various traps in the pet window. While useful at times, It's kind of confusing/distracting during battle when it fills up, and I have a hard time picking out my henchman's health from the various traps.
Any one know of a way to exclude the summons from /Traps from the Pet monitor window? -
I have personally moved to Virtue (from Freedom) recently, and I am enjoying it quite a bit.
There seems to be a good deal more TF's and the like going on, but make sure you get into some global channels. (Global channels are important for any server) -
Quote:Hmm now that is quite interesting, I'll have to remember that.Dam/Range in secondary +res shields ; dam = res, and dam enhancements buff 33% while res enhancements buff 20%. In other words, you can hit the ED cap with 2 slots as well as have a nice range boost, or just stick to the base slot, ++ the HO (which is ridiculously cheap, sells for 10k on the market) and have the equivalent of 2 res IOs.

Some things off the top of my head,
Dominators can push out good damage nowadays (guessing that is important to you based on your post), and they also have several powers that can be made to be Ice/snow looking.. Ice Control and Ice Assault being the most obvious, but they also have access to Fire, and Energy power sets..
Though my knowledge on Doms is limited, so I'll leave actual powerset synergies up to other folks who might know more.
Ice/Cold Corrs are also quite good(and has Snow, Ice, and Wind all down pat), but bloom late. Same with Fire/Cold.
xx/Storm Corr might also fit the bill. -
Quote:Not going to happen.
The devs are still standing firm on their stance that allowing us to pull 10 out is being generous, because enhancements are intended to be permanent.
They may change their mind on that someday, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.
I agree with you.. Although, within the last year or so, many of these so called "Taboo things the devs will never change" have actually been changed.. So I wouldn't be surprised if they increased it... Not gonna hold my breath though. -

Quote:Aye, its likely the OP's Bane was on the "add team" more often than his MM.Ixp is based on baddies defeated. If your on a BAF and the team you are on is not getting in on it's share of the kills you can lose out on ixp badly.
If your group is going for the keep em separated badge and the leaders don't make sure to have one person from each time on the Adds squad then your not going to get any ixp if your on the team that doesn't have a member over there doing damage.
The good news is that from the beta patch notes this is changing in I20.5 so that ixp is a league wide reward as it should have been from the start
Xp is not shared between league teams, last I knew. -
Quote:o.OI saved a picture someone posted back when it was being tested:
It took me awhile to make heads-or-tails of that lol.
I dunno, think it looks kind of cool, from that one particular screen shot, like the guy is dive-bombing the poor mobs or something lol. -
Quote:Specifically, BAB thought that granite doing the eviscerate flip looked ridiculous.
And yet he never thought eviscerate looked ridiculous on its own like I do....
That would look pretty silly indeed..
Though some of the Dual Blade attacks used while in Granite also look pretty ridiculous as well, but I think Eviscerate would take the cake xD -
Are you planning on going Magic Origin?
If so, Apprentice Charm should be able to light the OSA. (at least I think energy attacks ignite it??)
Meaning you don't have to worry if your primary has a means to light it. -
Quote:.... Confusion doesn't change the fact that you're on a team, just who you can target with attacks and who you can target with buffs. *shrug*
That's the part that makes me question it.. While confused mobs will buff you and your team (and I'm sure the opposite could be true, you should be able to buff a mob while confused?), Team-TP works specifically on your team. Which doesn't magically change because you are confused. -
I believe the answer to Number 1 is yes.
The floor is -300% resistance iirc.
Not sure about the second question though ;x -
Wait, what? Why can't a claws brute choose stone secondary? Problem with claw attachments on Granite?
-
I believe what he is saying is that no matter how good of a suggestion is made; even if it only takes seconds of dev-time, and would have nothing but positive attributes attached to it, that some people would still feel the need to argue against it.

I'll point out that the 'AI' seemingly took a turn for the worse a couple issues back..
When I first started my Bot MM I had no real issues with them closing in for melee, unless the mobs came into melee range first..
But now they run into melee range all the freaking time, its quite annoying. -

Having seen how the Steampunk Pack's faces (which use normal mapping) dramatically improved the quality and appearance of characters without actually increasing the polycount, I think one of the major improvements to the game would be to add normal maps to a lot of textures, but specifically certain costume parts, especially anything that's low-res already (like, say, character ears ... there's a glaring difference in texture quality between the face and the ear, especially if it's a Steampunk Pack face).
This; normals can make a huge different with little impact on performance.
I did notice that their newer stuff uses them, but it would be nice if they could go back and use normals on older stuff as well.
However, this would require making normal maps for each texture out there, so it might take some time..
Here's a quick example I threw together of the effects of normal mapping; pay attention to her leggings.

It's great for adding some artificial depth to things, which would otherwise take too many polys, such as wrinkles or fabric patterns, cracks, bricks, etc. If used on our character's heads, it would make their features stand out. Instead of the eyes looking painted on, they'd appear to have a bit of depth.
