Why did you put endoexp in chokin cloud? It doesn't take an accuracy enhancement and is a wasted HO. I put one in Cosmic Burst.

[/ QUOTE ]

I PM'd Castle about this, and here's what he said:

[ QUOTE ]
Yes, you can increase the accuracy that way. There is still a hard 50% chance value AFTER the to hit check, though

[/ QUOTE ]

So if I'm reading this right, 3 Endoplasms (Hold/Acc HO's) would actually help this power out quite a bit.

So, if I'm reading this correctly the numbers would work kinda like this (using easy numbers to figure it out).

Out of 100 minions at equal level:
Unslotted as is, you will hit 75 of them which will MAYBE hold them.
out of the 75 you will hold about 37 of them on the first tick of the power.

Slotted with 3 Endoplasms, you will hit all of them (Well, 95%) and MAYBE hold them
You will then hold about 50 that first tick.

So this is an even better tactic when fighting above your level, or things like Paragon Protectors, PvP toons, AV's (those that can be held), EB's and whatnot. Each tick has a 50% chance of holding a mob if it hits in the first place. Since we can't normally increase that to hit check, this is a GREAT workaround for getting more holds out of CC.

I'm off to respec into this and check it out for myself.

If I'm missinterpreting what Castle is saying here, lemme know.
2. I've tested this myself over the last few days from reading this post.

Cloaking Device = exactly the same as before. When the stealth kicks in a few seconds after your last attack, the hostage/scientist can not see you and yell, "Help, I've lost you!" just as they did last week.

Stealth is the same. See above for behavior.

Superspeed is the same. See above for behavior.

Nothing's changed. If you were able to be stealthed when escorting before, you either A) weren't the person the captive was following, hence it didn't matter if you were visible or not. Or B) were the recipient of a very nice bug that only affected you.

Either way, it's not been changed. At all.
3. MANY invisible map graphics. Caves in the Hallows suffer ALOT. Shadow Shard areas have this issue. Frostfire is another good example.

if something is laid out as an extra or layered graphic in a map, it's almost always invis. (Ice patches, big bums in the floor from Hallows caves, grating in Shadow Shard, ect...)

Frame rates yesterday pre I8 were around 30.
Same settings today (and turned down some things) is around 15 max 8 average.

Some odd costume coloration with respect to SG mode and normal mode when selecting colors. I got invited to an SG, tried to set up my colors, and the whole costume from shoulders to boots was black on black no matter what I picked.

Safeguard missions are the bomb though....

Faultline missions are kinda hinky when it comes to the level range. I do the first 2 contacts starting at level 15, and am only 17 when I get to the third, which won't give you mishs till 20. That seems a little spread out to me. Never remember having this issue in the Hallows, or Croatoa or Striga. Maybe 1 level difference but never 3.

Some odd lag in clicking a power and it going off, or a power looking recharged and it not being done yet (by like 10 or so seconds). It's like at a hami raid lag wise, only not so bad.

Base kick you out bug back.

If you try to enter your base and you have a loading screen when the base would be kicking you out (see above bug) you hard crash to the desktop.

I'll add more as I find em. I'm bugging these in game too.
4. Faultline Teleporters aren't working? funny, DoiDD got ours working after deleting the old beacon and reexploring all the exploration badges in the zone. We put the beacon back, and I'm almost 100% sure it's working now.

The exploration badges changed (some were added) wouldn't that change the beacon from working to not?

That's what we came up with anyway...
5. Hero builder isn't shwing the height increase then. The SO's should change the height as well as the speed.
6. Had to go with costumes since you didn't put POWERS in the list. Costumes are the closest to saying overal graphics and power effects.

Everything I see on the screen makes me feel....super.
7. I've been doing this on a few of my characters for a while. Either this is their travel power, or they have SS, and the CJ + Hurdle + Sprint are adding much needed vertical height to traveling. I love it personally.

But, here's a thought:

After reading one of the above poster's guide to movement, something occured to me. Are we wasting one of these slots by putting it into sprint? Would 1 Jump Sprint, 1 Jump CJ and 3 Jump Hurdle not be faster and higher than a 2, 1, 2 slotting setup?

Has anyone tried to see if 3 slotted Hurdle, 1 jump in Sprint and CJ be faster? I know that CJ with more jump would be higher, but for the whole "Quick/cheap travel power" which would be IDEAL for vertical highth?

I'm thinking, If I took out the slot in Sprint, since i have SS, and put 1 more in either CJ or Hurdle, I'd jump higher. Probably CJ... For that matter, wouldn't 3 in CJ be the highest you could go with this?
8. I'll do you one better Combat:

Name: The Dustbunny Brigade!

Shard: CoH

Overall Theme: Use your PBAoE powers to throw out so many small numbers it's not even funny.

Group Makeup: 8 Spines/DA Scrappers. That's it! That's all you need.

Backstory: From the hidden and dangerous realms beneath your bed come 8 dedicated warriors who will free mankind from the evil of VACUME MAN!!!

Stratagy and Powers: Take all your PBAoE Toggles, turn them on as a group. Walk into the center of any group of mobs in any danger zone. Use only aoe powers to set the streets alight with tiny orange numbers.

Costumes and Powres: All Dustbunnies are to be minimum sized (i.e. short) heroes. Take Huge, Heavy body frames. Dustbunnies don't wear shirts! All colors should be black, grey, or brown. Some green is allowed (eeewww, how long has that been under there?) Dustbunnies should wear as much patchwork as possible. All dustbunnies have antennae and bug eyes. All Dustbunnies have jet black or dark brown skin. The darker the shades the better. Tribal tatoos or similar markings can be done in white to offset and add contrast. All dustbunnies have wild and crazy hair do's. Dustbunnies must only be of the Natural or Magic origins. Tech and Mutant doesn't make sense. Science may be allowed if there is alot of green on the costume.

Names must all be similiar. Follow the examples below:

Dustbunny Bob
Dustbunny Joe
Dustbunny Jane
Dustbunny Jeff
Dustbunny Bill
Dustbunny Mike
Dustbunny Sam
Dustbunny Paul
Dustbunny Zaphod
ect...

Let the hillarity commence.

(I did a duo of this, we made it to lvl 14 in about 2 hours, 20 took another 2. It was sick. People laughed and applauded when we'd walk near. I've always wanted to find 75 people to fill a SG with all Dustbunnies on Justice. Not only would it be funny, but I'm willing to bet we'd make it to 50 in just 3 weeks or so if we played 8-10 hours a day)
9. Superspeed + 2 Slotted Sprint with Jump Enhancers, Hurdle, and 2 Slotted Combat Jumping with Jump Enhancers = teh uber in PvP.
10. Gaiman's a tool, I've met him. You're righ on the money there. King's a freak, completely off his rocker, then again, I like that in my horror writers. Barker's my favorite so far, Margrette Weis is a close second.

Jack.... Jack.... Not gonna say I didn't like him, he might nerf me :-D but from what I can tell, he's too involved in his company to know EVERYTHING we want. He should either hire someone to run the company and develop full time and get back in touch with his customers. That or he should just run the business and leave the developing completely to Matt and the others who are still regularly communicating with the player base. It really is an either or in my opinion.
11. Just in case any dev's are reading this, I'll throw in my suggestions onto the "make bases more popular" thing.

<ul type="square">[*]Bases cost too much. Make everything cheaper by at least 1/2. Seriously, I have a 30 something villian with a personal base, and I'll waste away the hours building it up every week. It's fun. I like it. But everything costs SOOO much. Make it alot cheaper to build and things in it to cost less. [*] Bases need more functionality. The Teleporters are great. Expensive but great. The med unit for rezing is great. Expensive, but great. but other than that, there's very little bases DO. Yes, store items like enhancements and salvage, but Do I really NEED to store my enhancements? It's great for Hami-O's and 53 SO's, but mostly, I just sell off what I find as soon as I get it.[*]Make SG Mission Computers actually do something. Besides the CoP trial that is. I always thought that the Computer would give you access to neat missions. A virtual Level 1-50 contact if you will. Mission computers are more or less worthless, you do it once or twice, and your done. Most bases don't have room for more than one IoP so that HUGE investment is mostly done with right away because....[*] Make base raiding work! And not just for CoH to CoH raids. I want to see CoV to CoH raids. The bad guys attacking the good guys, the good guys attacking the bad guys, ect... I'm not sure if this ever happened, raiding went by so fast, but raiding would add ALOT to bases. Fix this aspect and you'll get some popularity out of them.[*]Allow team members to use your SG's base when teamed. Think of it. My team mates wiped in the mish, but they could use my personal teleporter to rez and return to the mish. That would add some value to a Base as well as make you feel kinda special for helping the team out so much.[*]Random Events. Like Base Raiding, what if you could build an item that would make a random villian group, say...the Council, or the Hellions break into your base, turning your base into a mission map? What if you could have this happen randomly? You get a flashing message on your screen that says "Hellions are breaking into your base!!!" You run to the nearest base portal, and find your base over run with Hellions, not enough to kill you off right away, it would be based on the size and cost of your base, but enough to be a mission's worth or so. That IMO would be awesome.[*]General editing capabilities. Most SG's have a select few people that can edit their base. Editing proporties for the base should be based on your personal Prestige. I earned 100k, so I should be able to add 100k's worth of stuff to my base. That could be my own room, or a worktable, or a widescreen TV, or whatever. What's been said above stands true, too many sg's have 1 or 2 people who can add stuff, and the rest bankroll. That sucks. something has to change there.
I could go on and on, and on, but the cold medicine's messing with my head. I just hope a Redname is actually reading this thread.
12. Glad to be of service. I'll probably update this guide come Issue 9 (with the invention system, this has ALOT of potential). So keep a lookout.
13. If you get this working, please let me know, it's killing me.
14. so it's everytime you do it, you get a chance to get the item (flight for AP, SJ for KR, ect...) but you only get it the first time you COMPLETE the mish. If you fail 5 times, and get it on the 6th, you still get it.
15. question, one of my alts tried to solo his first mayhem mish (the one where you get the flight pack). I failed, (hero killed me repeatedly and took too long to get out of jail.

Is there a way I can still get the flight pack?
16. Ok, having a really hard time figuring out how to do what I want to have happen here.

For Masterminds, this would be PERFECT if you could do something like this:

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>
/bind numpad0 "bind numpad4 petcomall agg$$bind numpad5 petcomall def$$bind numpad6
petcomall pass$$bind numpad7 petcomall att$$ RANDOM PHRASE!!!$$bind numpad8 petcomall
fol$$ RANDOM PHRASE!!!$$bind numpad9 petcomall goto$$RANDOM PHRASE!!!"
</pre><hr />

Check out that last part.

Basicly, if you're telling your bots to attack a target, they'd say something like EXTERMINATE!!! while attacking said target.
If you say follow they'd say something like, "Following Meatbag!!!" and follow you.
If you say GoTo thay'd say something like, "Executing assault Manuver" and goto where they are told.

The Sayings would be random, the keys always the same.

Ideally, you could have different sayings for each key, like numpad 4 (set to aggressive) would be "readying phasors" or somesuch (again, random).

In addition, I'd like to have this incorporated somehow:

<font class="small">Code:<hr /><pre>
/bind numpad1 "bind numpad4 petcompow batt agg$$bind numpad5 petcompow batt def$$
bind numpad6 petcompow batt pass$$bind numpad7 petcompow batt att$$bind numpad8
petcompow batt fol$$bind numpad9 petcompow batt goto"
.
/bind numpad2 "bind numpad4 petcompow prot agg$$bind numpad5 petcompow prot def$$
bind numpad6 petcompow prot pass$$bind numpad7 petcompow prot att$$bind numpad8
petcompow prot fol$$bind numpad9 petcompow prot goto"
.
/bind numpad3 "bind numpad4 petcompow assa agg$$bind numpad5 petcompow assa def
$$bind numpad6 petcompow assa pass$$bind numpad7 petcompow assa att$$bind
numpad8 petcompow assa fol$$bind numpad9 petcompow assa goto"
</pre><hr />

Again, all with random sayings and all bound to seperate keys (numpad keys).

I just get a big giant headache trying to work out how this would be done. Any ideas?
17. [ QUOTE ]
Can my toon be restored if accidently deleted?, if so where do i go to get it back?
thanks

[/ QUOTE ]

No, you can't restore a deleted character. That's why it makes you type the name in EXACTLY as you named it including caps and whatnot. To make sure that YOU are sure you want to do that.
18. One would assume that Haloween will run from the 18th to the 31st, if not a few days longer.
19. I found GvE last night hidden underneath the shelves in the PC games.

if you weren't looking for it, you'd miss it compleatly. It was VERY hard to find, had to get a stockboy help me find it.

I moved them to a shelf with the same price so it would be at least OUT there.
20. One memory springs to mind.

Phase Shift + Burn

&lt;sigh&gt; The good old days.
21. Actually, if you're going for AoE goodness, I'd go ahead and slot 3 ToHitDebuffs and 3 DefDebuffs for to ALWAYS hit (minus that annoying 5%). It really comes in handy in PvP too.

If you slot just 1 acc in all powers, and 3 DefDebuffs in RI, then you just saved yourself an Acc slot (based on the most common slotting of 2xAcc's in all powers).

NOW, if you were playing say, Rad/Rad, then you could slot 3 DefDebuffs in RI and slot Irradiate with 1 acc, 3 DefDebuffs a Recharge and an EndRedux (or 1Acc/2DefDebuffs/EndRedux/2Recharge) and not need to slot other powers with acc at all and still always hit (a tactic that works VERY well on my Rad/Rad Defender).

But since this is fire, I'd go with 3DefDebuffs and just 1 acc in all fire powers, that way you almost NEVER miss.
22. [ QUOTE ]
Nice guide!

I have a suggestion on strategy and slotting. Often I won't have time to lead off with RI. This is especially true when you get adds or are fighting in an area where you cannot pull and you need debuffs up fast. In that case, I always lead off with EF to reduce incoming damage and if LR is up I will then hit them with LR. If it's a large group I will sometimes lead off with LR since it also reduces incoming damage due to the -recharge. Because I will often use LR on an undebuffed group, I prefer 2 accuracy SO's in it. I have LR slotted: 2 acc, 2 recharge, 2 slow. I do this because I usually fight reds and purples as a matter of course.

[/ QUOTE ]

As a long time rad player here's the problem with your tactic. Hitting the mobs with EF first will indeed reduce the oncomming alpha strike. And hitting them with LR next (or first doesn't matter) will reduce following damage. HOWEVER, hitting the group with RI FIRST gives a much better damage decrease due to the fact that when the mobs fire that alpha strike their accuracy is severly reduced from the getgo.

Here's some fake BS numbers to make it easy to explain:

Group of 10 each does 100 damage with his hit. ToHit of mobs is 50% (All minions to make it easy and even level)
Base alpha strike = 500

Leading with RI accuracy is reduced for all 10 mobs by 22.5% (in ideal setting) to 27.5%. This is unslotted effect for RI.
Alpha strike does 275.

That's almost 50% less damage incomming UNSLOTTED.

Leading with EF (Damage debuff value of i believe 22.5%.
Alpha strike does 387.5 damage

That's a big difference.

Leading with LR (no damage mitigation on alpha, just a slow)
Alpha strike = 500

When you lead with RI the VERY FIRST shot and all shots afterwards are debuffed to such a degree that it should ALWAYS be your first debuff. ALWAYS!

I don't care if you're fighting an AV and he's already agro'd, you should hit him with RI first. The longer animation time is just more reason to do so.

Hit with EF then LR then RI you can get shot twice for 387.5*2 or 775 damage. because by the time RI is applied they've shot you twice.

Lead off with RI and you get 275+213.13 or 448.13 damage, again almost 50% less damage. AND because you led off with RI and they don't agro until that is finished being applied you may only get hit once depending on timing, rather than twice.

The math is right there, ALWAYS LEAD WITH RI. ALWAYS.

I've played Rad since the game came out. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about here.

this applies to addon mobs even more so. Hit one group with all 3 and you've effectively shut down that group to the point where you don't care what they're doing and can safely take out group 2. Debuff the incomming group is my tactic for this scenerio.

TRUST ME. I've gone over it on paper and in practice so much that there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this is the best tactic and will save your life time and time again.
23. You don't suggest slotting Def into Elude, but my builder shows elude having 70% defense at level 50 with 3 Def slots. Given the PvP aspects of slotting Acc into attacks and whatnot, wouldn't having those Defense SO's counteract someone with ToHit buffs and 2-3 acc's in those attacks?

It just seems to me that slotting elude with defense (if you can spare it) would be a phenomenal idea to counteract all those buffs/Acc SO's/DefDebuffs/ect...
24. Question, does Lightning Field give you the chance of gaining end like most of the melee attacks? If so, what's the chance?

NM, I found the answer. The answer was No.
