  2. Has NCSoft considered working with PlayXPert's stuff? It's still beta, but I heard about it on a podcast. Apparently it does an overlay over an existing game's GUI, and provides a bunch of control widgets like itunes controls, cross-game friends lists, voice chat controls, etc, all without blocking the view of your game.

    This post about vivox reminds me of it, because vivox is a partner of theirs and is providing a vivox widget to their overlay system.

    Capture the Flag

    I'd say nonstop travel suppression on the flag bearer, and also suppress all teleport on them (no tp foe or recall). In return, perhaps consider a +hp, +def, +res compensation.

    CTF would be pretty fun in coh. Either instanced in "long" maps (Steel, IP) or in a new pvp zone (hah).

    It's pretty important to note that I wrote that before Healing Flames was buffed, and it was a heck of a buff. Also, IOs can benefit self-heals quite a bit, so my opinion of fire tanks has gone up quite a bit. (At the time, dwarf form had 25% more resistance than a fire tank to all but fire damage and a comparable heal, but Healing Flames is a lot stronger now).

    Your differential from IO to this build is 76%. That is the sum of your set bonuses. However, the set bonuses section does not list the +10% and +15% from the numina and regenerative tissue uniques, so your total should probably be 25% higher. (That, or they ARE included in the numbers and your common IO numbers should be 25% lower.)

    If not, maybe he is saying use double quotes instead of single quotes, which seems bizarre.

    Is this your initial /bindloadfile from the command line in game that is failing, or is it failing when you actually try to switch forms?

    I love this change. Lets us solo tougher task forces that are intentionally beefed up, and lets people solo them for recipes and such at a solo level. (Or duo, or trio)

    Man, I *really* love this. *claps*

    And it is far less exploitable (no more running it solo and having 8 people rejoin for the last mission).

    As it was pointed out, it might be a bit rough on posi teams who lose a few people, but on the balance, I definitely prefer this over the live version.

    Next up: let us, at the start, intentionally scale it higher. (ie, start with 1, scale to minimum of 4 - and I'd like that for oroborous missions als please)

One rule is the golden rule. About #78 on Virtue.

    Pretty much what I was thinking. I've always wanted the ability to spawn large maps for my solo characters when I'm in the mood for a challenge.

    The only bummer is you still have to harrass a bunch of other people to start it.

  24. I have 3 suggestions:

    (1) Chance the duration on dispersion bubble to 10-15s (leave activate period the same). Consider a bit of KB protection.
    (2) Replace repulsion field or repulsion bomb with a this power: You target an enemy and a large force field appears around him and contracts, dragging all enemies in the AoE TOWARD your target. In other words, it squeezes your enemies together, like an anti-knockback. Not sure if it's possible with the powers system. Both knockback or repel would be fine here. A nice alternate power would be a wall of force. You target a location, it appears there, say 40ft wide, perpendicular to the line between you and your target.
    (3) Change the activate on repulsion bomb (if it is kept) to 1s or so, give it a better animation, and a more consistent stun. (I'm thinking 100% mag 2 + 50% mag 1 at a minimum). (As a side note, after 3 years of play, I only got to see Repulsion Bomb because I took it; I'd never, EVER seen anyone use it. After 3 years. That's pretty indicative of something.)

    Agreed. That team, if they're fine, could pick up the FF defender, then trade scrappers and tanks for blasters, who can then speed up the damage dealt.

    Although we'll never see what's really best while there's an arbitrary difficulty cap. When we can spawn 8-man maps of +5s when solo, we'll really know what the best teams of any size are.
