Back in November I was going to start running Incarnate component TFs on Sundays, but real life intervened to make Sunday playtime erratic. Things have settled down for me now, so let's try again. To celebrate my blaster's impending rogue-to-hero turn, I thought I'd run the two SFs one last time (at least, last time before I get my mastermind to 50, which shouldn't be too much longer).
Also, BigMoneyHustla's making Master of... attempts at both SFs Tuesday evening. Here's the thread for details.
Lord Recluse Strike Force - Sunday, Jan 23 at 3 PM EST
8 characters, level 45+
1. @Placta - blaster
2. @BigMoneyHustla - Ice/Fire Blaster
3. @nightchick - Fire/Kin Controller
4. Tamerlayne
5.

Barracuda Strike Force - Sunday, Jan 23 at 5 PM EST or 10 minutes after the LRSF
4-8 characters, level 45+
1. @Placta - blaster (if needed and someone else volunteers to lead, I can bring my mastermind)
2. @BigMoneyHustla - Ice/Fire Blaster
3. @nightchick - Fire/Kin Controller
4. Tamerlayne

Quote:Best bet for Warriors missions is Mercedes Sheldon's third blueside arc, "The Crown of Glory." All three missions are Warriors with several named bosses, and the second mission takes place on the Atta map.Like many defeat badges, the fastest way to find the targets is to run an 8-man mission against the target villain group. There aren't a whole lot of Warrior missions, but if you can get a group together for them (or are just hardcore enough to fight huge spawns by yourself) then it'd probably be faster than streetsweeping.

I'd like to join, but I won't get home from work until 9:30 Central (10:30 Eastern). If you can delay it until then, I'll be there. If not, I understand.
-
I don't need the badges, and after Sunday I won't have a 50 with access to redside for a little while, but if you need help and I'm around, I've got a 48 mastermind (almost there!) who can help out.
Also, I'm planning to run both SFs Sunday afternoon (one last time before my blaster goes back to being a hero; I'll be posting an announcement/sign-up thread soon) if you want a practice run. -
Doing an AFK damage farm tonight on Champion, got plenty of notices about the Ghost Ship and Scrapyard, one about the Flyer, and a Rikti invasion, but no fire alarms or superadine raids.
-
I deleted a SG because no one was earning prestige.
Okay, it was a one-character SG and the decision was driven by practicality instead of true anger/frustration.
One of the nice things about solo SGs is if members start fighting, you've got bigger things to worry about than the SG. -
Had some rough going early, but after getting some help from BMT, I'm pretty sure everyone who was around when we got Manti got all the badges they needed.
Congrats on the badges, and thanks to everyone who came out to help. -
Quote:There are only four Praetorian-only badges without a Primal-only equivalent (for instance, Praetoria's Daughter doesn't count because it's the same as VIP/Destined One, and any given character can only get one or the other):The BIG one of course is all the Praetorian Only badges. Being a loyalist, or resistance, or confirming / switching said allegiance, or listening to the guy in the tutorial babble... probably more I cannot recall, but the point is, no one who started as a hero OR villain can acquire any of them.... yet.
* Avid Reader (tutorial badge)
* Loyalist (choose Loyalist on a moral choice mission)
* Moral High Ground (complete 5 moral choice missions)
* Resistance Member (choose Resistance on a moral choice mission) -
Black Scorpion's official list.
It's not on that list, but full villain status is required for Jail Bird because it can only be gained in the villain tutorial or through redside Ouro.
Also, getting badges for mission/arc completion without fully switching sides requires teaming with someone else who has the mission. If the badge requires you to be the mission holder, you can't even do that and will have to fully switch to get the badge. Badges I know to require you to be the mission holder:
* Efficiency Expert
* Bloodletter/Mirage/Spider's Kiss/The Stinger, plus the associated gladiator
* Usurper -
I've sent a PM to everyone who's expressed interest; if I missed you, let me know and I'll forward it to you. And there's still plenty of room if you want to join.

Completing a villain morality mission today pushed my total from 1086 to 1112. Waiting until I had all the day jobs done before making the switch was worth it for that string of Gladiator Unlocked!/Badge Earned!/etc. messages.

Quote:Be that as it may, it's probably best not to advertise the time.You shouldn't have any problems with PvP'ers since there's never anyone in RV on Champion anyways.
Quote:maybe 2 teams can be formed up? Will need it considering the AV's are extra tough and who knows how many villains will start responding.....
And just in case you misread, we're going after the heroes, so villains responding means more recruits -
Early next week I'm finally switching my main over to a villain for a little while. Before going back to being a hero, I'd like to try to get the badges for defeating the heroes in RV.
If you want these badges, want to work on the pillbox/heavy badges, and/or just want to help, let me know. (No time set yet; once I get a few signups I'll try to find a time that works for everyone.) -
Placta - elec/elec blaster, also my first 50 and still my main.
Second character was Plactina - nin/ff mastermind, deleted and rerolled as the nin/ta who's my villain main, to the extent such exists.
I created eight more characters that first day, giving me one of each AT. I rerolled a couple, but otherwise still have them all; the heroes are all 50, the villains... well, one is level 14. -
I had two or three abortive attempts at creating solo SGs in the early going. Then, after my main hit 50, I had enough incentive to take it seriously and made building a functional base one of my goals for the summer. I spent a lot of time in edit mode that summer; I remember swapping out teleport beacons a lot so I could get where I was going. Then they lowered base costs and suddenly that prestige that wasn't enough to buy anything was enough to buy everything I wanted. With enough left over to pay rent for the next few hundred years.
At this point, I occassionally think of leaving it to join a larger SG with actual people, but everything that led me to make a solo SG in the first place, plus the work I've put into said SG, keeps me from doing it. Besides...
Quote:Yeah, BMT's my real SG.Isn't Champion community a big SG with everyone with their own private Storage?
====
Besides my solo SGs, I accidentally accepted a blind SG invite once and stayed in for two minutes before I realized what I'd done. That was one of the catalysts for my taking the solo SG seriously. -
From a clue in one of Crimson's missions:
"Oh, to have fallen to such a sorry state due to the incompetence of others! I must use your vulgar modern vernacular to properly compound insult upon indignity and state: This blows." -
My henchmen never got the temp and my secondary has no ally buffs, so they'd would wear down and die in the early phases of each wave, before the Legacy Chain's numbers thinned out. It wasn't really an issue; with the temp power I was basically invulnerable and could have handled the mission with Snap Shot, Apprentice Charm, Brawl, five hours, and infinite patience, and I was easily able to keep a full set of buffed henchmen. (I actually fairly surprised at how hardy they were; I only had to resummon about once per wave. My memories of the 20s on that character are not pleasant, but then I was fighting Scrapyarders, with Demolitionists, for much of that time. And I got to keep the second buff power.)
-
Running Vincent Ross's arc on my mastermind today, I didn't get the temp power for the last mission with the huge groups of Legacy Chain. Needless to say, I gave that up as "not likely to succeed without extreme frustration" and reset the mission. This time, I entered the mission without my henchmen and got the temp power, and the mission was considerably easier (a little long to be fighting enemies that don't really pose any threat to me, and I got to resummon henchmen a bunch because they didn't have the temp, but easy). Only thing I can figure regarding the first try is that one of my henchmen got the temp power instead of me.
Has anyone else experienced this? -
The only two I know of are "An Unstable Trigger," (Hero/Vigilante 40-50) and "Recruitment Flyer" (Hero/Vigilante 20-29). I know both versions of the former let you fight Maelstrom, and I think both versions of the latter do as well but I wouldn't swear to that.

Quote:The Infected in Atlas Park and Galaxy City are a different group from the Contaminated in Outbreak. However, if you miss the badge in the tutorial, you have a couple of options:(And I heard they put a couple of the infected in Galaxy City for people who missed it.)
1. You can revisit Outbreak via Ouroboros; with the issue 16 changes to exemplaring, this is probably the easiest way to get the badge now.
2. One spawns every so often in the train station in Recluse's Victory. -
Thanks Amily for setting this up, and everyone else for two very easy Master badges.

Interesting... this may explain why I haven't seen something I've seen in these DE tip missions elsewhere: the bosses don't downgrade to lieutenants, even solo with "no bosses" set. I /bugged it when I first noticed it was happening, but it was still happening as of Tuesday.

Finally able to play on Sunday again, at least for this week. I'd like to join on my elec/elec blaster, with the caveat that I may have to leave between the SFs.
