  1. The current implementation of fame bulbs seems rather clumsy to me. Currently the interface shows how long ago you've filled that bulb (You've been famous for a deed x hours) and doesn't mention anything at all about why the player should care about that. I think it would make more sense to have the mouseover be a countdown to when a tip can be done with that fame slot again. Make it say something like "The public will recognize another deed in (20-x) hours".

I think something to this effect would be a nice move to pull some information out of clumsy text boxes and into the interface. Reducing player confusion.
  2. I like elec armor more on brutes cause a brute'll hit 90% energy resistance, while a scrapper is capped at 75%. That's without outside buffs.

I have a brute that mostly just feeds on rikti.
  3. Favorite support: Anything with cold domination. Awesome buffs/debuffs.

so those 20 A-merits I need for some recipes is going to take me 40 days. i think i can live with that, since i couldn't earn the inf to buy a 300 million purple from grinding the same number of missions in that time frame.
You'd be better off rolling the merits or buying a specific pricy recipe outright than buying purple recipes individually. At least at current prices.

2bill+ pvp recipes also an option, I think, but takes longer.
  5. It'll stack, but the proc rate is really low. Buildup proc is something you slot only if you're going for the 6 piece bonus of Gaussian's.

There's a dev's choice arc that had one mission every enemy giving *1* xp because of the xp penalty that was given. And all but 1 of the allies were pretty much flavor spawns, sitting around doing nothing, maybe attacking an enemy that gets close.

This is an overall improvement in being able to run MA arcs and actually get rewards out of it.

    Consume

Well, I think consume in general needs a faster recharge but:

A better comparison would be the attacks from a scrapper primary to the attacks in fire manipulation. Attacks in general are much more costly than toggle powers (there are a handful of toggle powers with obscene end costs, such as hotfeet and disruption field). AoE attacks especially.

My market game of choice tends to be lazy salvage flipping, so I get credit towards those badges in the process of making ludicrous profits.

    Procs in Toggles

Gaussian proc is pretty much only useful if you're going for the 6 piece def bonus.

That proc makes the caster of the skill use placate on the target, right? Ground target powers like that are pseudo pets, they count as the caster. And well, they're already untargetable. So placate is pointless.

I thought the panacea 6 slot melee defense bonus was marked so that it only works in pvp zones?
  16. I've heard it called Assadoken or something to that effect on beta channel several times.
  17. My personal debate is elec/cold controller vs cold/psi defender.

I want to see a scrapper buffed to damage cap using fiery embrace.

  21. Oh right.

Main thing I found annoying was that power siphon has like a second after the animation is done playing (or looks done, anyway) where you can't actually do anything but move around. Still a better dps boost than normal buildup, but annoying.
  22. The main thing keeping me from making an SR or SD character is annoyance w/ clicky status protection.
  23. Power siphon is better than buildup for overall damage boosting if you have a saturated attack chain (always attacking, or close to it). It doesn't feel good until you have the first 3 attacks. With recharge slotting in attacks/some global recharge should be able to have a full chain without the first attack (haven't run the numbers though).

The animations can "feel" slow because of the whole gathering energy animation most have, but they're not really. Suppose the main issue is that even though the set technically has a cone damage power and a pbaoe, functionally it only really has one aoe power. Because the cone is an inconsistent high knockback power (80% chance of knockback, more knockback mag than shockwave, lower cone angle than shockwave).

The mitigation on the set helped in praetoria though. First attack has knockdown and second/third have chance to stun up to leuts. The damage debuffs attached to everything should help vs harder targets, but didn't fight any AVs with the set myself, and EBs were approached with def insps. Think should have something like 3/4+ debuffs stacked on a target that stays alive for a while, as long as attack chain is saturated.

In other words, if one of my villains goes rogue and then hero, can that hero then stay heroic and get hero-alignment-stuff?
No matter what you've started as, you get an alignment merit for reinforceing hero or villain alignment.

HOWEVER, if you go rogue or vigilante all your alignment merits are destroyed. And you can't earn more until you go hero or villain.

Vigilantes/rogues get 60 merits for reinforcing alignment I think.
